Harold D. Koster

Harold D. Koster, 80, of 23329 Engle Street, Cassopolis, Mich., died at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Lee Memorial Hospital.
Harold was born in Turin, New York, on Sept. 9, 1918. He was a dairy farmer for most of his life. Harold was a member of Calvary Bible Church of Dowagiac, Mich.
On Feb. 21, 1982 he married
Zeyneb Abiney, who survives.
He is also survived by five daughters, Carol (Bob) Leach of Malone, N.Y., Julia (Joe) Zehr of Lowville, N.Y., Bonnie Rospendowski of Liverpool, N.Y., Cindy Bauman of Waddell, Ariz., and Sunny (Kevin) Price of Dowagiac; five sons, George Koster of Cartharge, N.Y., Carey Koster of Lowville, N.Y., Rick (Rose) Koster of Newport, N.Y., David Koster of Glendale, Ariz., and Dennis (Tami) Koster of Buckeye, Ariz.; two brothers, Howard (Honey) Koster of Turina, N.Y. and Dennis (Shirley) Koster of Glenfield, N.Y.; and by 28 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by three sisters.
His funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Calvary Bible Church, Dowagiac. Rev. Robert Vickroy will officiate.
Visitation will be conducted from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Groner Funeral Home.
An additional funeral service will be held in Lowville at Virkler - Peroski Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on Friday.
There will be a visitation starting at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Martinsburg cemetery in New York.
Memorials may be given to Calvary Bible Church.
Guy H. Madeford
March 18, 1913 - Nov. 27, 1998
Guy H. Madeford, 85, of Elmwood Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness at 2:45 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27, in Fountainview Place Nursing Home, Mishawaka.
Mr. Madeford was born on March 18, 1913, in Hansboro, North Dakota, as the son of the late Earl and Gertrude (Harter) Madeford. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
On May 19, 1954, in South Bend, Ind., he married
the former Marjorie Leask, who survives.
He is also survived by one sister, Patricia M. (Robert) Hall of Missouri City, Texas; one sister - in - law, Velma Petrass of Mishawaka; and by several nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him.
Mr. Madeford was an automotive mechanic for the former Studebaker's in South Bend for twenty - eight years. He retired in 1976 from Dodge in Mishawaka.
He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Madeford was a member of Coalbush United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason as well as a Shriner for 50 years. He was a former member of the Teamsters Union #364, and a former member of the UAW Local #5 from 1936 to 1964.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Jim Davidson of Coalbush United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens cemetery, Osceola, Ind.

Alice L. McInerny
Aug. 22, 1924 - Nov. 30, 1998
SOUTH BEND - Alice L. McInerny, 74, of Shamrock Gardens, formerly of Riverside Drive and East Colfax Avenue, passed away in her residence early Monday, Nov. 30.
Mrs. McInerny was born in Kokomo, Ind., on August 22, 1924. On July 4, 1951, in South Bend, Ind., as Alice Hoover, she married
William F. McInerny, Sr., who passed away on March 9, 1993. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne Dolan of Hays, Kan. and Amy L. Cassidy of South Bend; two sons, William F., Jr. of Kansas City, Mo. and Daniel P. of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; and by a sister - in - law, Martha E. McInerny of South Bend.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she was a member. Burial will follow at Highland cemetery.
Visitation will be private.
McGann Funeral Homes, University Area Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Road, is entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hope Rescue Mission.
Virginia Miloserny
March 5, 1918 - Nov. 25, 1998
Virginia "Dolly" Miloserny of Ahwatukee, who gained fame as one of South Bend's most outstanding women golfers, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, at the age of 80, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dolly, who said "It takes desire to learn to be good at this game along with hard work and toughness," maintained this attitude throughout her life.
Dolly is survived by her daughter, Judy Johnson of Tempe, Ariz.; her sister, Evelyn Witucki of South Bend, Ind.; grandchildren, Tim Miloserny of Chandler, Ariz., Rick Miloserny of Denver, Colo., Bryan Johnson of Chandler, Ariz., and Chris Johnson of Phoenix; and by one great - grandson, Trent Miloserny of Denver.
A twelve time Women's City Golf Champion who didn't begin golfing until age 26, Dolly holds course records over the entire Michiana area. When Dolly retired from competitive golf after 20 years, she said, "My only regret is not being able to win over Alice Dye in the state tournament."
Dolly spent the next 12 years as a manager and buyer of diamonds and fine jewelry for Jacob's Jewelers and The Value House until she and her husband, Ted, retired to Phoenix in 1983 to relax and enjoy the golden years.
Services have been held with inurnment at Valley of the Sun cemetery in Chandler, Ariz.

Madelyn Perschke

Madelyn "Pete" Perschke, 74, of East 15th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 1:43 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, in the Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind.
Pete was born on Jan. 17, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Hulda and Frank Long. On July 10, 1965, Pete married
Richard W. Perschke in South Bend. He survives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Sharon A. Sandusky of Edwardsburg, Mich.; two sons, Kenneth J. Velte of Elkhart, Ind. and Dennis W. Velte of Blackshear, Georgia; seven grandchildren; six great grand children; two sisters, Florence Emeigh of LaPorte, Ind. and Geraldine Lawfon of Mishawaka, Ind.
Pete was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian M. Augustine and by a brother, Richard F. Long.
Pete retired from the C T S corp. Of Elkhart after 32 years of service.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Burial will take place in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens cemetery, Osceola, Ind.
Irma E. Senkbeil
March 28, 1914 - Nov. 29, 1998
Irma E. (Blase) Senkbeil, formerly of 3602 S. Ironwood (St. Paul's Retirement Community) passed away after an illness at 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, in Regency Place of South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Senkbeil was born on March 28, 1914, in Cincinnati, Ohio, as the daughter of the late Edward and Elnora (Beiderwelle) Blase. On August 6, 1938, in Cincinnati, as Irma E. Blase she married
Charles W. Senkbeil, who preceded her in death on March 9, 1973.
Mrs. Senkbeil is survived by one daughter, Cheryth (Mrs. David) Taylor of Rochester Hills, Mich.; one son, Roger C. (Carol) Senkbeil of South Bend; grandchildren, Laura Taylor and Dr. Paul Taylor, both of Rochester Hills; and by a step - grandson, Todd Nitka of South Bend.
Mrs. Senkbeil was retired as an elementary school teacher in Cincinnati and as a nursery school teacher at Raggedy Ann Nursery School in South Bend. She was a long standing member of Grace United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, a member of the Mary Maratha Circle and United Methodist Women, a member of P.E.O. Chapter N, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and a former singer with the Sweet Adelines. Irma was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Education. A recognized and published poet, she was a member of the International Society of Poets.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 S. Twyckenham Drive, South Bend. Burial will be in Vine Street Hill cemetery, Cincinnati.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the music ministries of Grace United Methodist Church.

Otto K. Appel Jr.

WINAMAC - Otto K. Appel Jr., 74, of 506 W. Madison St., died Friday in Pulaski Health Care Center. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Cramer and Katherine Whybrew, both of Winamac; and two brothers, Hilbert of Lewisville, Texas, and Donald of Hebron. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Frain Mortuary, where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday.
