Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend.

Wilbur C. Benson Sr.

May 28, 1920 - July 21, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Wilbur C. Benson Sr., 78, of Berry Street, died Tuesday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Katherine (Burns); four daughters, Helen Miller of Osceola, Roberta Benson of Denver, Patricia Chodzinski of Mishawaka and Virginia Langley of South Bend; and two sons, Wilbur Jr. and Daniel, both of South Bend. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St.

April 12, 1904 - July 20, 1998

OSCEOLA - - Hazel Carlson, 94, of Birch Road, died Monday in Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home, Elkhart. Survivors include a daughter, Marion Wisser of Osceola. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Reuben W. Cravens

Feb. 9, 1914 - July 19, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Reuben W. Cravens, 84, of 314 Dean St., died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Betty; four daughters, Celia J. Schrader of Sun City, Ariz., and Donna M. Swaby, Janet F. Campbell and Shirley G. Zdankus, all of LaPorte; and a sister, Margaret Johnson of Stigler, Okla. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, where friends may call one hour before services.

Ronald K. Duckworth

July 28, 1949 - July 19, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Ronald K. Duckworth, 48, of Marbleton, Wy., formerly of South Bend, died Sunday following an automobile accident in Wyoming. Survivors include three daughters, Madison Standridge and Chelesa and Savannah Duckworth, all of Wyoming; his mother, Mary Perry of South Bend; a sister, Connie Haley of South Bend; and two brothers, Michael Murray of Mishawaka and Thomas Duckworth of Granger. Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Thallemer - Goethals Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour before services.

April 24, 1920 - July 20, 1998

MISHAWAKA - - Esther M. Fouts, 78, of Grand Boulevard, died Monday in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Miles of South Bend and Vickie Weldy of Mishawaka; two sons, Joe Miles of Decatur and Ken Miles of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a brother, Jim Tweety of Pennsylvania. There will be no services or visitation. Bubb Funeral Chapel North is handling arrangements.

MISHAWAKA - - Aleitha Mae Holland, 83, of Tanglewood Trace Nursing Home, formerly of Flint, Mich., died Sunday in the nursing home. Survivors include a daughter, Dale K. Sutherland of El Cajon, Calif.; and a son, Gerald W. of South Bend. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Swartz Funeral Home, Flint, where friends may call two hours before services. Hickey Funeral Home, South Bend, is handling local arrangements.

Nov. 11, 1916 - July 20, 1998

SOUTH BEND - - Stanley (Stanislaus) Kosmala, 81, of West Poland Street, died Monday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Harriet (Zakiewicz); two daughters, Stella Broskey and Donna Zachary, both of South Bend; a son, Richard of South Bend; and two sisters, Aniela Dudek of Poland and Leonora. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a rosary will be said at 6 p.m.

MISHAWAKA - - Hildegarde G. Lovechio, 74, of 17th Street, died Monday in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Birdwell of Argos; and two sons, Larry of Mishawaka and Tom of Bourbon. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m.

Jr. of South Bend; his mother, Doris (Walters) Newgent; two sisters, Kathy Breeding and Carol Jordanek, both of South Bend; and three brothers, Carl E. of Niles and Michael J. and Thomas, both of South Bend. Porter Loring Mortuary North, San Antonio, is handling arrangements.

NILES - Marjorie C. (Snapp) Bogue, 80, of Paris, Ill., formerly of Niles and South Bend, died Sunday in Governors Park Nursing Home, Barrington, Ill. Survivors include her husband, Edward; and three daughters, Toni Nelligan of Grand Rapids, Tamara Voris of Barrington and Tania Allman of Fenton, Mo. Services will be at a later date. There will be no visitation. Stirlen - Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, Barrington, is handling arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly (Rau); three sons, Steven and Richard, both of Buchanan, and David of Edwardsburg; his mother, Helen Davidson of Buchanan; four sisters, Martha Snelson of Searcy, Ark., Coletta Quinn of South Bend, Janet Wood of Leesburg, Fla., and Mona Strickland of Orangeburg, S.C.; and a brother, Lyle of Chicago. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Hoven Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

LAPORTE - John P. Fisher, 43, of 1607 Stone Lake Drive, died at 7:12 a.m. Thursday in LaPorte Hospital of natural causes. Survivors include two daughters, Amy Roberts of Rochester and Christy Fisher of Knox; his parents, Margie Mullins of LaPorte and A.J. Fisher of LaPorte; and a sister, Julia Tibbs of LaPorte. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Cutler Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and before services Saturday.

PLYMOUTH - Emerson O. Haines, 83, of 5798 Old U.S. 31 North, died Thursday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Flora M. (McGowan); and a daughter, Rose E. Boomhower of Plymouth. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Johnson - Danielson Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Roscoe S. Hoot

SYRACUSE - Roscoe S. Hoot, 82, of 9540 N. Kohner Road East, and of Cocoa Beach, Fla., died Sept. 25 in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Jeanne Sorensen of Niles; and three sons, Nick Hoot of Rome City, David Hoot of Stuartville, Minn., and Karl Keiper of Syracuse; a sister, Gladys Sidel of Fremont, Ind.; and a brother, Donald "Bud" of Montgomery, Mich. Private family services were held Sept. 27 in the family home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Waterloo cemetery, Waterloo, Ind. Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, is handling arrangements.

Priest of Niles; a son, William G. of Summerfield, Fla.; a sister, Edith Stovall of Imboden, Ark.; and three brothers, Vernon of Imboden, J.H. of Denver and Wilson of Marianna, Ark. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Halbritter Funeral Home.
