Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Deller of Boulder, Colo.; and a son, Donald W. of Elkhart. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

William A. Burkus

March 18, 1913 - Nov. 11, 1998

SOUTH BEND - William A. Burkus, 85, of Redlands, Calif., formerly of South Bend, died November 11 in Redlands Medical Center, Redlands. Survivors include a brother, John of South Bend. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, where friends may call a half hour before services.

Robert C. Conti Jr.

Aug. 25, 1936 - Nov. 14, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Robert C. Conti Jr., 62, of Ashmont Place, died Nov. 14, in Phoenix, Ariz. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Beth Routen of Fort Wayne and Joan Conti of Lexington, Ky.; by his father, Robert C. Conti Sr. of Pittsburgh; a sister, Carolyn Byrne of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Edgar of Scottsdale, Ariz. Memorial services were held Friday in Pittsburgh. Memorial visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.

ELKHART - Bessie L. Dobbyn, 95, of 29721 Cardinal Ave., died Friday in her home. Survivors include three daughters, Winifred Dorrier, Juanita Stout and Betty Fuller, all of Elkhart; and four sons, Edwin W., Charles W., Leo W. and Jack R. Forrest, all of Elkhart. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Northside Church of the Nazarene. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Hartzler - Gutermuth Funeral Home.

ROCHESTER - Bessie Beatrice Enyart, 73, of 520 Ohio St., died Thursday in her home. Survivors include her husband, Dean; a son, Jim Conley of Rochester; two sisters, June Patrick of Valparaiso and Julie Conley of Portsmouth, Ohio; five brothers, Wheeler Conley of Rochester, Wade Conley of Kewanna, Bernie Conley Jr. of Hinckley, Ill., Bill Conley of Salyersville, Ky., and Forrest Conley of Lucasville, Ohio. Services will be today at 11 a.m. in the Foster and Good Funeral Home, where friends may call one hour before service.

SOUTH BEND - Ellen F. Flint, 80, of the Regency Place Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, died Thursday in the nursing home. Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Buckley of Fishkill, N.Y.; three sons, James of Lisle, Ill., Thomas of South Bend and Joseph of Chicago; and a brother John McMenama of Lexington, Ky. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.

SOUTH BEND - Alice M. Grimes, 85, of South 34th Street, died Thursday in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. Survivors include four brothers, Jack Fuchs of South Bend, Ross and John Fuchs, both of Bremen, and Bobbie Fuchs of Lakeville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, where friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Jean M. Kwiatkowski

June 16, 1915 - Nov. 19, 1998

MICHIGAN CITY - Jean M. Kwiatkowski, 83, of Indiana 20 East, died Thursday in St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers. Survivors include her husband, Theodore; and two sisters, Edna Woskowicz of Hammond, Ind., and Mamie Spisak of East Chicago, Ind. A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Church, Michigan City. Friends may call a half hour before services in the church. The Root Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

ELKHART - Susan O. Main, 84, of the Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died Friday in the nursing center. Survivors include two daughters, Alissa Martynowicz of Bristol and Marsha Monroe of Elkhart; a son, Bill L. of Elkhart; and a brother, Robert Heckaman of Elkhart. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Walley - Mills - Zimmerman Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

SYRACUSE - Clifford Y. Miller, 74, of 312 N. Main St., died at 12:15 a.m. Friday in the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis (Kline); a daughter, Dawn Shue of Warsaw; and a son, Kim of Syracuse. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Eastlund Funeral Home - Harris Chapel, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Nusbaum - Elkin Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

SOUTH BEND - Rev. Richard J. Smith, 74, of the Fountainview Retirement Village, Buchanan, formerly of South Bend, died Friday in Fountainview. Survivors include his sister, Sally Springer of Fort Wayne. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Jude's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakeville, where a Vigil Service will be held at 4 p.m. The Thallemer - Goethals Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

BUCHANAN - Bruno William Steinweg, 88, of 14566 N. Red Bud Trail, Lot # 47, died Friday in the Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; a daughter, Ann DiCicco of Hazel Crest, Ill; two sons, Philip of Redlands, Calif., and Don of Fairfield, Calif.; three sisters, Ruth Droes and Louise Lange, both of Reedsburg, Wis., and Dorothea Peper of Waterford, Wis.; and three brothers, Henry of Los Angeles, and Conrad and Carl, both of Reedsburg. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Anthony Castelbuono Youth Chapel of Pioneer Memorial Church, Berrien Springs. There will be no visitation. The Allred Funeral Home, Berrien Springs, is handling arrangements.
