MISHAWAKA - Charles E. Redman, 38, of Wabash, Ind., formerly of Mishawaka, died Friday in Wabash Hospital of injuries from an automobile accident in Wabash. Survivors include his parents, Charles K. and Sally (Spencer) Redman of Mishawaka; a sister, Christine Redman of Mishawaka; and a brother, Kevin of Osceola. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Monica Catholic Church, where friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be said at 2 p.m. with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Thallemer - Goethals Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

June 10, 1958 - Sept. 5, 1998

MISHAWAKA - Terri Redman, 40, of Wabash, Ind., formerly of Mishawaka, died Saturday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, of injuries from an automobile accident in Wabash. Survivors include her parents, Frank and Teresa (Polito) Schimizzi of Mishawaka; a sister, Mary E. Paesel of South Chicago Heights, Ill.; and a brother, Ned Schimizzi of Mishawaka. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Monica Catholic Church, where friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be said at 2 p.m. Tuesday with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. in the church. Thallemer - Goethals Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - Belle Wilcox, 88, of Bridgeview Court, died Sunday in her home. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Mallett of South Bend; and a son, John Wilcox of Niles. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

April 9, 1900 - Sept. 3, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Vera E. Wilkeson, 98, of Salome, Ariz., formerly of South Bend, died Thursday in Wickenburg, Ariz. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., where friends may call two hours prior to services.

ELKHART - Johnny D. Dameron, 45, of 56350 Burr St., died Saturday in Elkhart General Hospital of natural causes. Survivors include his wife, Donna; and three sons, Danny D., Jerry L. and Billy R., all of Elkhart. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hartzler - Gutermuth - Inman Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

May 24, 1954 - Sept. 5, 1998

ELKHART - Timothy A. Loucks, 44, of 1601 Navajo St., died Saturday in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, of natural causes. Survivors include his mother, Vera Loucks of Elkhart; two sisters, Aurelia Nothstine of Granger and Janet Hertsell of Elkhart; and a brother, Buell of Elkhart. There will be no services or visitation. Hartzler - Gutermuth - Inman Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Henrietta Miller

Nov. 20, 1915 - Sept. 6, 1998

BUCHANAN - Henrietta Miller, 82, of 110 W. Alexander St., died Sunday in her home. Survivors include a daughter, Delores Yoder of Niles; a son; Dale of Buchanan; and a sister, Esther Miller of Buchanan. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Swem Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

July 26, 1920 - Sept. 6, 1998

WARSAW - Max Albert Montel, 78, of 1630 County Farm Road, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in Kosciusko Community Hospital. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Egolf of Claypool; a son, Steve of Carbondale, Ill.; a sister, Lois Gearhart of North Manchester, Ind.; and four brothers, Everett of Warsaw, Ray and Wayne, both of North Manchester, and Delbert of Asheboro, N.C. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Titus Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

March 15, 1916 - Sept. 6, 1998

BUCHANAN - Delvin Newsom, 82, of 2905 Redbud Trail South, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie of Buchanan and Billy of Niles; and a brother, Carl of Buchanan. Services will be at 11 a.m. (Mich. time) in Portage Prairie United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Swem Funeral Home.

Russell W. Reed

Dec. 16, 1913 - Sept. 5, 1998

SHIPSHEWANA - Russell W. Reed, 84, of Extenda Care, Goshen, formerly of Shipshewana, died at 1:25 a.m. Saturday in the facility. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann Studabaker of Noble, Okla., and Janet Gran of Elkhart; a son, Richard of Goshen; three sisters, Eunice Leclar of Fountain, Mich., Elva Cripe of New Paris and Esther Barnell of Goshen; and three brothers, Don of Barnes Lake, Mich., Jim of Sturgis and Marvin of Brownsville, Tenn. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Grace Lawn cemetery, Middlebury. There will be no visitation. Miller Funeral Home, Middlebury, is handling arrangements.

ROCHESTER - Mary Margaret Sowers, 90, of Hagerstown, Md., formerly of Rochester, died Saturday in Colton Villa Nursing Home, Hagerstown. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is handling local arrangements.

BREMEN - Lola M. Weiss, 84, of 303 W. North St., died Saturday in Bremen Health Care Center. Survivors include four sons, Harley of North Liberty, Wayne and Stanley, both of Bremen, and Dennis of Niles; a sister, Florence Hollar of Phoenix; and two half sisters, Mary Schneider of Bremen and Laura Kreig of Florida. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Mishler Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

ROME CITY - LaVerda J. Whetstone, daughter of Joseph R. and Lorrina (Miller) Whetstone, of 0505 E. County Road 1000 North, was dead at birth Saturday in Vencor Hospital, LaGrange. Survivors include a sister, Roseanna M. Whetstone at home; and six brothers, James A., Ezra L., Jonathon L., Timothy D., Andrew S. and Nathan E., all at home. Services will be at noon today in the family home. Frurip - May Funeral Home, LaGrange is handling arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - - Paul A. Lant, 41, of East Ireland Road, died Friday in his home after an illness. Survivors include his mother, Winifred Lant of South Bend; and two brothers, Keith Lant of Niles and Robert Milliken of Coatesville, Pa. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

SOUTH BEND - - Donald M. Long, 86, of Edenton, N.C., formerly of South Bend, died Sept. 7 in Brian Center Nursing Home, Edenton. Survivors include his wife, Agnes (Bueche); a daughter, Mary Jo Clapper of Edenton; and two brothers, Harold of Edwardsburg and Dean of Lake of the Woods. Memorial services were held Sept. 10 in St. Anne's Catholic Church, Edenton. Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, handled arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - Mary D. Smithberger, 89, of Wembley Drive, died Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Survivors include two daughters, Beth A. Pulte of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Susan M. Smithberger of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Thomas J. of El Cerrito, Calif., and Andrew W. of Elgin, Ill.; and a brother, Paul E. Myers of Mishawaka. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame, where friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time. Hickey Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Frank; three daughters, Sherry L. White of Walkerton, Lori A. Baumgarten of Indianapolis and Dawn Taghon of Mishawaka; three sons, Robert D. Frame of LaPorte, Mark A. Frame of Walkerton and Frank "Butch" Steinhofer of South Bend; and four sisters, Gienna O'Connor of Athens, Ohio, Gladys Walker of Fort Myers, Fla., Grace Adkins of Walkerton and her twin, Mary "Peg" Knapp of Vidalia, La.; and three brothers, Charles Vandall and C.H. "Sonny" Vandall, both of Walkerton, and Robert Vandall of Meadow Bridge, W.Va. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Nusbaum - Elkin Funeral Home.
