Grover Hullman Ridgway
age 87; retired production worker
Funeral services for Grover Hullman Ridgway, 87, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Scott Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at Maple Manor Christian Home, Sellersburg.
He was a retired production worker, retired farmer and retired from Klarer Meat Packing Company.
Survivors include two sons, Robert L. Ridgway, Damascus, Maryland and Edward O. Ridgway, Jeffersonville; a daughter, Linda G. Ridgway, Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Hall, Louisville and Almeta Deimer, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence E. Ridgway and parents, Burt and Viola Ridgway.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.
John H. Stitcher
age 17; Jeff High senior
Funeral services for John H. Stitcher, 17, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Generations Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Howe Valley Cemetery, Howe Valley, Ky. He died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at University of Louisville Hospital.
He was a senior at Jeffersonville High School and previously attended Our Lady of Providence High School. He was employed at Tuckers Restaurant, New Albany and was a member of Colgate Baptist Church, Clarksville.
Survivors include his father, David A. Stitcher and stepmother, Sue M. Stitcher, Jeffersonville; four sisters, Lisa L. Pedigo, Trenton, Ill., Debbie A. Owens and Michelle L. Stitcher, Monticello, Ky. and Shannon L. Burton, Eubank, Ky.; two stepbrothers, Brian J. Kelton, New Albany and Hunter Kelton, Jeffersonville; grandparents, Harold and Patricia Logsdon, Jeffersonville; six nieces; and six nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia A. Logsdon Stitcher and grandmother, Mildred L. Logsdon.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.
Robert Burris
age 64; of Georgetown
Funeral services for Robert "Bobby" Burris, 64, of Georgetown, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery, Edwardsville. He died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at his home.
He was a native of Columbia, Ky., and retired from Gold Seal Pest Control.
Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Johnson; two sons, Randy Burris, Jeffersonville and Ronnie Burris, Seymour; two daughters, Kathy Scott, Lanesville and Niki Roberts, Georgetown; a sister, Sally Hubbard, Columbus; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Indiana.
William E. Kidd
age 61; of New Albany
Funeral services for William E. Kidd, 61, of New Albany, were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Saturday, Oct. 26, at Grace Lutheran Church, New Albany, with private burial to follow. He died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.
He retired from Standard Gravure after 30-plus years and was a former employee of Wal-Mart, Clarksville. He volunteered for the American Red Cross and Hospice of Palliative Care of Southern Indiana and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Carol Wolf Kidd; a son, Charles Kidd, Texas; a daughter, Angela Clark, Corydon; a brother, David Kidd, Sellersburg; a sister, Rebecca Wacker, New Albany and five grandchildren Joe Jr., Michael, Colton, Gavin and Derck.
Visitation at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes was held Friday, Oct. 25. Visitation at the church was after 9:30 a.m. this morning.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Grace Lutheran Church Bell Tower Fund or Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.
Leo Raab
age 82; of Borden
Funeral services for Leo Raab, 82, of Borden, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, with burial in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery
near Borden. He died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Charlestown, a retired carpenter and a member of Chapel Hill Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Ernest Raab, Borden; a daughter, Kathy Adams, Louisville and a grandson, David Adams, Louisville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be until 8 p.m. this evening, Saturday, Oct. 26 and after 10 a.m. Sunday.
Charles L. Schultz
age 75; WW II veteran
Funeral services for Charles L. Schultz, 75, of Clarksville,will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, New Albany, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville. He died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Providence Retirement Home, New Albany.
He was a native of New Albany and an Army veteran of World War II. He formerly worked in the Homes Division of the U.S. Steel Company, was a developer and co-owner of the old Rocket Golf Center and formerly worked with the Marquis Realty Company. He was the golf professional at the New Albany Country Club from 1970-1982 and at the Wooded View Golf Course from 1982-95. He was a life member of the Professional Golf Association, a member of the American Legion, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and IU Varsity Club. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he was captain of the golf team.
Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley Jackson; a son, Scott R. Schultz, Indianapolis; a daughter, Cheryl Blessinger, New Albany and four grandchildren, Jordan and Kaelin Blessinger, Charles Scott and Courtney Ann Schultz.
Visitation at Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes will be from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.

Norris T. Utrecht
age 89; of New Albany
Funeral services for Norris J. Utrecht, 89, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at the Robert E. Lee Healthplex in New Albany.
He was a native of New Albany, a former vice-president of the old Schreiber Lumber Company and a retired 17 year employee of the Courier Journal. He was a lifetime member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ in New Albany.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth V. Allen; a son, Karl Utrecht, Las Cruces, New Mexico; a daughter, Sandra Carter, Floyds Knobs; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 and after noon Monday at the church.

Willie Lee Whitehead
age 74; Burman Construction Co. retiree
Funeral services for Willie Lee Whitehead, 74, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, 2912 West Kentucky St., Louisville, with burial in Greenmeadows Memorial Cemetery, Louisville. He died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Newton, Miss., a retired employee of Burman Construction Company in the Kentuckiana area, and was a member of Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, Louisville.
Survivors include his wife, Willie I. Whitehead of New Albany; seven daughters, Gracie and Bobbie Moore, Louisville, Louise Whitehead, Suzanne Woolfolk and Linda Whitehead, New Albany, Maryland Lewis, Jeffersonville and Lutricia Whitehead, New Albany; two sons, Willie Joe Whitehead and Gregory K. Whitehead, New Albany; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the church will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Mabel Wells Adams
age 81; of Henryville
Funeral services for Mabel Wells Adams, 81, of Henryville, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service, with entombment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, both in Henryville. She died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Henryville.
She was a native of Odds, Ky. She and her husband Johnie T. Adams who preceded her in death May 15, 1997, were IGA Foodliner Franchise Owners for 40+ years (Henryville, Sellersburg, Clarksville and Jeffersonville). She was a member of the Christian Church and baptized in the Jordan River in 1996; she was a member of the Wells Family Association.
Survivors include a son, Garry Adams (Dee), LaGrange, Ky.; two daughters, LaDonna Campbell (Stephen), Scottsburg, and Susan Noland (Gary), Stanford, Ky.; a brother, Henry Wells, South Point, Ohio; six grandchildren, Dana Smith, David Tanner, Kim Kaufman, Chelle Stanley, Gary J. Noland and Craig Noland; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie T. Adams; father, George Mose Wells; mother, Cora Honeycutt Wells; brothers, George, Arthur, John, Willy, Frank and Woodrow Wells; and sisters, Goldie, Susie and Daisy Wells, Maggie Collins and Eula Williams.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 6, at the funeral home.

Kimberly A. Cochran
age 31; Louisville native
Funeral services for Kimberly A. Cochran, 31, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at Scott Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. She died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Louisville.
Survivors include a daughter, Chelsea Ritter, Jeffersonville; mother, Myrtle McCowan, Jeffersonville; three brothers, Danny McCowan, Jeffersonville, Gary McCowan, Clarksville and Wayne McCowan, Fla.; and two sisters, Sharon Jones and Tammy McCowan, Jeffersonville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton McCowan.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.
