Survivors include three sisters, Shirley Magnuson, Lucille Miller and Norma Young, all of Plymouth; and two brothers, James Bower of Plymouth and Charles Bower of St. Petersburg, Fla. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Van Gilder Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and a Woman of the Moose service will be at 8 p.m.

Winifred M. Cripe

Jan. 18, 1904 - July 23, 1997

UNION - Winifred M. Cripe, 95, of 69611 M - 5 Sunset Blvd., died at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Carriage Manor after an illness. Survivors include a daughter, Catherine M. Gaskill of Union; and a sister, Rosemary Lantz of Goshen. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Yoder - Culp Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Stanley Hamman Jr.

July 13, 1938 - July 23, 1999

LEESBURG - Stanley Hamman Jr., 61, of 4451 N. County Road 850 East, died at 8:05 p.m. Friday in his home after an illness. Survivors include his wife, Janet (Luce); a daughter, Barbara Marose of Warsaw; a son, Kenneth of Warsaw; his mother, Ruth Hamman of North Webster; and a sister, Judy Clutter of North Webster. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Harry L. Kindred

Aug. 14, 1936 - July 22, 1999

SOUTH BEND - Harry Lee Kindred, 62, of Western Avenue, died Thursday in Hospice House of St. Joseph County after an illness. Survivors include his wife, Alberta; two daughters, Twana Kindred and Nina Kindred, both of South Bend; and a brother, Kilroy of South Bend. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Alford's Mortuary, where friends may call one hour before services.

John Nesvold

Dec. 23, 1937 - July 22, 1999

MICHIGAN CITY - John Nesvold, 61, of Elston Street, died at 7 a.m. Thursday in St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Graham of Boise, Idaho; his stepmother, Lois Nesvold of Michigan City; his stepfather, Bernard Bonifield of Barry, Ill.; and a sister, Lillian Edwards of Dublin, Ohio. Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday in Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and military services will be at 7 p.m.

Paul F. Northam

Sept. 13, 1914 - July 22, 1999

UNION - Paul F. Northam, 84, of 70803 Wayne St., died Thursday in Elkhart General Hospital of natural causes. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Hertel of Lafayette, Ind.; and a son, Lane of Elkhart. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Hartzler - Gutermuth - Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Betty J. Simcox

July 26, 1925 - July 23, 1999

ELKHART - Betty J. Simcox, 73, of 623 Fieldhouse Ave., died Friday in her home of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, Wilbur "Bill"; and two sisters, Ellen M. Diethrich and Helen F. Brady, both of Mishawaka. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Central Christian Church, where friends may call after services. Hartzler - Gutermuth - Inman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Otha B. Sledge

March 2, 1935 - July 21, 1999

ELKHART - Otha B. Sledge, 64, of 609 Concord Ave., died at 11:27 p.m. Wednesday in Elkhart General Hospital after an illness. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann (Beverly); two daughters, Deborah Quinn of Indianapolis and Barbara Harwell of Elkhart; two sons, Tom O. of Greenville, Ill., and Frederick L. of Elkhart; his stepmother, Alberta Sledge of Elkhart; and three sisters, Joyce Newsome and Eula Young, both of Elkhart, and Maxine Elam of Cleveland. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Canaan Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour before services. Billings Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Dorothy I. Syx

Jan. 15, 1920 - July 23, 1999

DOWAGIAC - Dorothy I. Syx, 79, of 55080 Michigan 51 North, died Friday in her home of natural causes. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Craige of Belleview, Fla., and Roberta A. Emery of Lawrence, Ind.; two stepsons, Edward of California and Lindn of Arizona; and a sister, Leotha DePaepe of Dowagiac. Services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in Groner Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

R D Thimlar

Sept. 17, 1930 - July 24, 1999

UNION - R D Thimlar, 68, of Wayne Street, was found dead at 8:43 p.m. Friday at Coverdale Lake. The Cass County Sheriff's Department determined the death was an accidental drowning. Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Quigg of South Bend; a son, Leslie of Bristol; three sisters, June Springler of Tucson, Ariz., and Jane Hamilton and Barbara Garvin, both of Fort Wayne; and three brothers, Theodore of Winter Garden, Fla., Frank of Fort Wayne and Melvin of Elkhart. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Yoder - Culp Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

William C. Annis

Feb. 6, 1908 - July 18, 1998

NORTH LIBERTY - William C. Annis, 90, of Thorn Road, died Saturday in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Walkerton. Survivors include four daughters, Nancy Niespodziany and Linda Paul, both of North Liberty, Susan Leonard of Niles and Marilyn Kuspa of Mishawaka; and two sons, Michael of Walkerton and Dwight of North Liberty. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in North Liberty Church of Christ. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in A.M. Manuel Funeral Home.

July 29, 1936 - July 18, 1998

OSCEOLA - Joan D. Flury, 61, of Apple Road, died Saturday in her home of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, Fred J. of Osceola; a daughter, Dawn Flury - Krause of Atlanta; two sisters, Joyce Rodrick of Bicknell, Ind. and Kay Scarff of Omaha, Neb.; and a brother, Henry Delle Ave of Ragsdale, Ind. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Thallemer - Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before services Tuesday.

Beatrice M. Forbush

Feb. 24, 1904 - July 18, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Beatrice M. "Bea" Forbush, 94, of Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, died Saturday in the center. Survivors include a son, Orlow R. Johnston of Weston, Fla. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Rose Mary Jackson

Oct. 20, 1924 - July 18, 1998

MISHAWAKA - Rose Mary Jackson, 73, of West 11th Street, died Saturday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Harvey; a daughter, Sharyn Allen of South Bend; two sons, James L. Coppens of South Bend and Michael R. Coppens of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Grace Carter of Osceola; and two brothers, William C. Roggeman, Jr. of Mishawaka and Tom Roggeman of Granger. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hahn Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.

Robert W. Lerner Sr.

March 19, 1926 - July 18, 1998

GRANGER - Robert W. Lerner Sr., 72, of Partridge Woods Drive, died Saturday in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Survivors include his wife, Colleen; two sons, Robert W. Jr. of Berkley, Mich. and Kenton D. of Macomb, Ill.; his father, Walter Lerner of Elkhart; a sister, Charlene Abraham of Indianapolis; and a brother, Ronald E. of Niles. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call form 6 to 8 p.m. today in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, Mishawaka, and one hour before services Tuesday in the church.

SOUTH BEND - Hubert Brown Smith, 73, of South 34th Street, died Saturday in Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Survivors include his wife, Cele; a son, David E. of Elkhart; two sisters, Phyllis Brooks of Indianapolis and Hildred Scott of Frankfort, Ind.; and six brothers, Eugene and Kenny, both of Indiana, Herbert of California, Richard and Cletus, both of Texas, and Royce of Delphi, Ind. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palmer Funeral Home, South Bend, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

WARSAW - William H. Clutter, 80, of 941 E. Fort Wayne St., died at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. Survivors include a son, Harvey of Pierceton. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in McHatton - Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
