MISHAWAKA - William "Bill" Kline, 79, of Milburn Boulevard, died Sunday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Emogene (Conner); a daughter Vikki Parker of Mishawaka; a son, Fred of Mishawaka; two sisters, Agnes Eastman of Wilmington, Del., and Ann Lou Wasowski of South Bend; and two brothers, Robert of Columbus, Ohio, and James of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hahn Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Richard L. Mitchell

May 28, 1943 - Oct. 17, 1998

MISHAWAKA - Richard L. Mitchell, 55, of Geyer Avenue, died Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Mitchell of Mishawaka and Nicole Campbell of South Bend; a son, Richard E. of South Bend; and his mother, Helen Biggs of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Marvin E Phillips

March 7, 1921 - Oct. 17, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Marvin E. Phillips, 77, of Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Osceola and New Carlisle, died in the center Saturday. Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Korn of New Carlisle, Donna Belle Dark of Lakeville and Glenna Harris of Olean, N.Y. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola, where friends may call one hour before services.

Edward A. Smith

Jan. 10, 1955 - Oct. 15, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Edward A. Smith, 43, of Princeville, Ill., formerly of South Bend, died Thursday in his home. Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Smith Nighsonger of Chillicothe, Ill.; his mother, Julia Smith of South Bend; four sisters; and four brothers. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call one hour before services at Palmer Funeral Home, Osceola.

Reva G. Tedrow

July 16, 1927 - Oct. 17, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Reva G. Tedrow, 71, of 316 S. St. Joseph St., died Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Grooms of South Bend; a son, Ronnie Roberts of South Bend; three sisters, June Grant of Detroit, Awyne Walls of Kingsport, Ind., and Elouise Parks of Davy, W.Va; and a brother, John Wheeler of Virginia. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Francisco Avila Jr.

June 28, 1987 - June 27, 1999

LAPORTE - Tina M. Avila, 34, and her children, Kristina L., 15, and Francisco Jr., 11, all of 236 Cable St., died Sunday morning in an automobile accident in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico. Survivors include her husband and the children's father, Francisco Sr. of LaPorte; Tina's mother and father, Caroline and Ralph Ward of Culver; her three sisters, Tammy S. Adams and Brenda L. Peterson, both of Knox, and Linda K. Hedges of Plymouth; and three brothers, Terry McNeal and Ralph L. Ward II, both of Culver, and Tony McNeal of Lapaz. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in Haverstock Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

Yolanda D. Avila

July 9, 1984 - June 27, 1999

LAPORTE - Yolanda Dennette Ann "Nana" Avila, 14, of 409 E St., died Sunday morning in an automobile accident in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico. Survivors include her mother, Guanita Moyao of Michigan City; a sister, Angelija G. Burrows of Michigan City; a brother, Joshua Burrows of Michigan City; a stepbrother, Justin Moyao of Michigan City; and her stepfather, Abraham Moyao of Michigan City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in Haverstock Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

Ronald E. Burson

March 2, 1939 - June 28, 1999

ELKHART - Ronald E. Burson, 60, of 735 Wolf Ave., died Monday in Elkhart General Hospital. Survivors include a son, Douglas of Wisconsin; a sister, Shirley Burson Johnson of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Victor R. of Elkhart. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Sinai Workshop Center Church of God in Christ, where friends may call one hour before services.

Iola V. Corwin

Aug. 26, 1903 - June 29, 1999

NAPPANEE - Iola V. Corwin, 95, of 351 N. Elm St., died Tuesday in Elkhart General Hospital of natural causes. Survivors include her husband, Loyal; a daughter, Anita Pingalore of Elkhart; two sons, Walter of St. Louis and Allan of Elkhart; and a sister, Edna Reed of Nappanee. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Thompson - Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee Chapel, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Blanche F. Duzan

Jan. 25, 1911 - June 29, 1999

ROCHESTER - Blanche F. Duzan, 88, of Lifecare Center of Rochester, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Joe; two daughters, Dixie Curtis of Cedar Lake, Ind., and Sue Henry of Saylorsburg, Pa.; and two sons, Jerry of St. Augustine, Fla., and Ray of Talma. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before services.

Simona D. Gearhart - Avila

Sept. 15, 1989 - June 26, 1999

LAPORTE - Simona Danyel Gearhart - Avila, 9, of 326 Rockwood St., died Sunday morning in an automobile accident in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico. Survivors include her mother, Tracy Gearhart of LaPorte; and a brother, Joshua Gearhart of LaPorte. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Haverstock Funeral Home, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Nov. 28, 1907 - June 30, 1999

KOONTZ LAKE - Peter J. Hilt Jr., 91, of Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, formerly of Koontz Lake, died Wednesday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, after an illness. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton. There will be no visitation. Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, is handling arrangements.

Henry J. Kubiak

Dec. 13, 1912 - June 30, 1999

SOUTH BEND - Henry J. Kubiak, 86, who resided in the home of his daughter, Susan Minnes, on Eastmont Drive, died Wednesday in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Survivors include four daughters, Linda Cira of Bremen, Susan Minnes and Judy Richart, both of South Bend, and Terri Farmer of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Henry J. of Niles; and a sister, Harriet Nowicki of South Bend. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center Chapel. There will be no visitation. Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, is handling arrangements.

Forrest E. Lewallen

Feb. 3, 1909 - June 30, 1999

GOSHEN - Forrest E. Lewallen, 90, of Valley View Health Care Center, Elkhart, formerly of Goshen, died at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday in the center. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ann Hammel of Wakarusa and Joan H. Myers of Goshen; three sons, Gary L. of Goshen, Noble of Niles and Stanley of Elkhart; four sisters, Gladys Raines of Mesa, Ariz., Lillian McGibbeny of Sebring, Fla., Margaret Barliament of Portage, Mich., and Kathryn Huys of Osceola; and three brothers, Richard of Wessington Springs, S.D., Howard of Wild Rose, Wis., and Vern of Newton, Kan. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rieth, Rohrer & Ehret Funeral Home, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Eula I. Mahoney

Sept. 13, 1908 - June 29, 1999

WARSAW - Eula I. Mahoney, 90, of Miller's Merry Manor, died at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in the nursing home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Palestine (Ind.) cemetery. Friends will leave Titus Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. There will be no visitation.

Ethan Joseph Majcher

June 28, 1999

LAPORTE - Ethan Joseph Majcher, infant son of Kimberly J. Wedding and Craig N. Majcher of 324 Park St., was dead at birth at 3:10 a.m. Monday in LaPorte Hospital. Survivors include a brother, Nathan of LaPorte. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Haverstock Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services.

John I. Mentel

Sept. 6, 1918 - June 30, 1999

PLYMOUTH - John I. "Jack" Mentel, 80, of 805 Baker St., Lot 36, died at 1:57 a.m. Wednesday in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus. Survivors include his wife, Violet; two daughters, Kathleen Arsenault of East Dundee, Ill., and Barb Huffman of Plymouth; two sons, James of Richton, Ill., and Richard of Mishawaka; and a sister, Dorothy Brown of Livonia, Mich. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Sunrise Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Van Gilder Funeral Home and one hour before services in the church.
