John Stewart Roche
age 71; of Louisville
A private family service for John Stewart Roche, 71, of Louisville, will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville.
He was a native of New Albany, a graduate of Ball State University and a retired Air Force captain.
Paul William Ellison Jr.
age 79; World War II veteran
Paul William Ellison Jr., 79, of Jeffersonville, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Richmond, Va.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and retired from the Defense General Supply Center. He was and a member of Master Masonic Grand Lodge 340, Jeffersonville and past president of the Bellwood Federal Credit Union.
Survivors include his wife, June K. Ellison, Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Linda E. Hauser, Richmond; granddaughter, Kimberly H. Padua, Orlando, Fla.; sister, Jean E. Dooley and her husband and Albert, Jeffersonville; three stepdaughters, Judy K. Newcomb and husband, Donald, Chesterfield, Va., Joyce K. Walsh and husband, Joseph, Gainesville, Ga., and Angela Klemmer, Chesterfield, Va.; stepson, James J. Klemmer and wife, Toni, Virginia Beach, Va.; seven step grandchildren, Cheri Garvin, Tracey Mueller, Ginny Carroll, Kami Hines, Brent Walsh, Josh Klemmer and Jason Klemmer and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Masonic service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Coots Funeral Home, followed by burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
Scott C. Harrington
age 38; Census Bureau employee
Funeral services for Scott C. Harrington, 38, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at his home.
He was a budget analyst at the Census Bureau and was a graduate of Providence High School and Indiana University, Bloomington, with a business degree. He was an avid weightlifter and a member of the Premier Fitness Center, Clarksville.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, James E. and Janine Harrington, New Albany; stepsisters, Julianna Dally, Rogers, Ark., and Linda Christiansen, New Albany and several cousins and uncles.
He was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Jean Harrington.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.

Lawrence William Sullivan
age 80; Army veteran
Funeral services for Lawrence William Sullivan, 80, of Clarksville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Hawkins Cemetery, Smiths Grove, Ky. He died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Newton, Mass., and retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years service. Having served with the 101st Infantry Yankee Division during World War II and the
Korean War, he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was also retired from the Jeffersonville Township Public Library and the Clarksville Police Department Public Safety Division.
Survivors include two sons, John L. Sullivan, New Albany and Roy B. Doyle, Sunset Beach, N.C.; a sister, Miriam Hession, West Dennis, Mass.; four granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred H. Sullivan.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 20.
Vivian E. Way
age 90; Jeffersonville native
Funeral services for Vivian E. Way, 90, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jeffersonville, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Providence Retirement Home, New Albany.
She was a native of Jeffersonville, a retired switchboard operator for the Jeffersonville City County Building and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. She was also a member of Daughters of Isabella and American Legion Auxiliary Post 35.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosemarie Soukop, Clarksville, Martha J. Davis, St. Matthews, Ky., and JoAnn Wiggins, Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Way.
Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 20.

John E. Lincks
age 69; of Salem
Funeral services for John E. Lincks, 69, of Salem, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Love Funeral Home, Palmyra, with burial in Palmyra Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of London, Ky. and was retired from the Canton Custons Auto Body Repair. He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Salem.
Survivors include a son, Carl Lincks, Paoli; two daughters, Pamela Hensley, New Washington and Sheryl Haehl, New Albany; six brothers, Charles Lincks, Lexington, William Lincks, Salem, James Lincks, Pekin, Don Lincks, Salem, Ronald of Floyds Knobs and David, Palmyra; three sisters, Daisy Pike, New Albany, Nancy Schmidt, Palmyra and Pattie Zimmerman, Orange Park, Fla.; three grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p. m. Friday, Feb. 21 and after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Ella Louise Bowman
age 67; of Louisville
A memorial services for Ella Louise Bowman, 67, of Louisville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Woodland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1377 S. 20th St., Louisville.
She died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Transitional Health Services of Clark County.
Perryman's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Lori Ann Johnson
age 27; of Georgetown
Funeral services for Lori Ann Johnson, 27, of Georgetown, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, New Albany, with private burial. She died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at her home.
She was the former Lori Ann Harris and a member of Georgetown Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Travis L. Johnson, Georgetown; a daughter, Ashley N. Johnson, Georgetown; her parents, Michael and Margaret Harris, Georgetown; a brother, Shane M. Harris, Clarksville; and her grandmother, Margaret J. Garland, Clarksville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.
Gerald W. Scott
age 78; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Gerald W. Scott, 78, of Galena, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at Chapel Hill Christian Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at his home.
He was a retired postmaster for Floyds Knobs, a member of NAPUS and a lifelong member and deacon of Chapel Hill Christian Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Smith Scott of Floyds Knobs; a son, Ronald Scott and his wife, Nora, Floyds Knobs; a sister, Viola Engleman, New Albany; and two grandchildren, Brad and his wife Michelle, Georgetown, and Todd and Katie, Floyds Knobs.
Visitation at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 20 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.
