RICHLAND, Ind. -- Addison E. "Junior" Brock, 60, of Richland died there Friday, May 18, 2001, from cancer. The Bristow, Ind., native was a coal miner for 31 years and a member of United Mine Workers of America, React and the Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lucille Brock; a son, Robert E. Brock of Richland, Ind.; two daughters, Sheila K. Carver of Richland and Teresa L. Richey of Carthage, Tenn.; four grandchildren; four brothers, Donald Brock, Arlie Brock and Dow Brock, all of Tell City, Ind., and Wayne Brock of Rockport, Ind.; eight sisters, Mary Seals of Louisville, Francis Hammack of Centralia, Ill., Ardella Keiser of Gentryville, Ind., Mildred Leistner, Bonnie Hermann, Thelma Rothgerber and Darlene Brock, all of Tell City, Ind., and Sharon Kyle of Jasper, Ind.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery in Richland, Ind. Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Francis 'F.M.' Rose Sr.

RICHLAND, Ind. -- Francis "F.M." Rose Sr., 73, of Richland died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from heart failure. The Neafus native was a construction worker, a member of Free Zion General Baptist Church and International Union of Labor and Hodearries Local 561. He was a member of American Legion Post 213, Mid Valley Gospel Singers and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty Joann Rose; two sons, Fritz Rose of Rome, Ind., and Bruce Rose of Rockport, Ind.; three daughters, Brela Crouch of Richland, Teri Ball of Grandview, Ind., and Mary Herron of Rockport, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Craine of Caneyville and Joe Craine of Beaver Dam.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind. Burial will be in Hacklemann cemetery in Chrisney, Ind. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Association.

James E. Hinton

TELL CITY, Ind. -- James E. Hinton, 57, of Tell City died there Saturday, May 26, 2001, at his home of cancer. The Troy, Ind., native was an employee of the city of Tell City and had served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose 1424, American Legion Post 213, Tell City Volunteer Fire Department, Indiana Volunteer Fireman's Association and Leopold (Ind.) Conservation Club.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rosemary Keown Hinton; two sons, Jim "Himi" Hinton Jr. of Tell City and Brian Hinton of Tempe, Ariz.; a daughter, Lisa Hinton of Tell City; two grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry Hinton of Owensboro.

Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Tell City, where American Legion Post 213 will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be a volunteer fire department walk-through at 6:30 p.m. today and a Moose Lodge memorial service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lisa Hinton College Fund at Old National Bank or Perry County Memorial Hospital Home Health Hospice.

Bobbie Neighbors

DALE, Ind. -- Bobbie Neighbors, 45, of Dale died there Monday, May 28, 2001, at his sister's home. The Huntingburg, Ind., native worked at Highland Hills Apartments in Evansville and graduated from Heritage Hills High School in 1973.

Survivors include a son, Bobbie Neighbors of Evansville; a brother, Jack Neighbors of Evansville; and two sisters, Vicky Litkenhus of Dale and Donna Preston of Evansville.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Richardson cemetery in Dale. Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory, Dale chapel handled arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family, 305 Maple St., Dale, IN, 47523.

James C. Powers
22 May 2001

ROCKPORT, Ind. -- James C. Powers, 72, of Rockport died Sunday, May 20, 2001, of natural causes at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Hawesville native was a truck driver, a member of Good Old Boy's Sunday school class and Wing Avenue Baptist Church in Owensboro. He was a member of American Legion Post 254, React, Emergency Management, coordinator for weather spotters and an armed forces veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Freda Powers; a son, Gary L. Anders of Chrisney, Ind.; two daughters, Darlene Dugger of Rockport, Ind., and Vickie Lewellyn of Grandview, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will be in Cloverport cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Wing Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund or American Cancer Society.

John A. Dupont

TELL CITY, Ind. -- John A. Dupont, 79, of Tell City died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System from a cerebral hemorrhage. The Perry County, Ind., native retired from Willamette Industries in 1986 after 19 years of service as a millwright. He had served on the Tell City and Perry County councils. He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. His wife, Virginia Simpson Dupont, died in 1983.

Survivors include three sons, John Ray Dupont, Franklin D. Dupont and Barry S. Dupont, all of Tell City; two daughters, Charlotte L. Johnson of Cannelton, Ind., and Virginia O'Dell of Tell City; and seven grandchildren.

Services are at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Prayers and a Knights of Columbus service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Right to Life or St. Paul Catholic Church.

Holbert Mitchell Kirkman

TELL CITY, Ind. -- Holbert Mitchell Kirkman, 79, of Tell City died there Saturday, May 19, 2001, at his home. The Todd County native retired from W.R. Grace and attended the Pentecostal Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. His wife, Emily Faye Kirkman, died in 1978.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Estelle J. Kirkman; three sons, Timothy Mitchell Kirkman, Randy Ford and Tony D. Ford, all of Owensboro; three daughters, Deneda Faye Hillegas of Henderson, Darlena K. Magnus of Rockport, Ind., and Donna Sue Kirkman of Owensboro; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bernis Kirkman and William G. Kirkman, both of Owensboro, and Hubert Kirkman of Portland, Tenn.; and four sisters, Verdie Williams of Todd County, Vernell Williams of Madison, Tenn., Anna Jean Shock of Owensboro and Kathleen Oxford of Decaturville, Tenn.

Services are at 2:30 p.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Bells Run Baptist Church cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Cornerstone Church Building Fund, 315 Ridgewood St., Hawesville, KY 42348.

John P. Frizzell

TELL CITY, Ind. -- John P. Frizzell, 51, of Tell City died Sunday, May 27, 2001, at Norton-Audubon Hospital in Louisville from an apparent heart attack. The Tell City native was a sergeant at Branchville Correctional Facility and a 1967 graduate of Tell City High School. He attended Indiana State University for four years, was a former co-owner of Jim's Men's Store in Tell City and played and coached softball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, bowling and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Marilyn Chumbley Frizzell; two sons, Mike Chumbley and Matthew Chumbley, both of Jeffersonville, Ind.; a daughter, Michaeline Miller of Louisville; a granddaughter; a brother, Gary Frizzell of Tell City; a nephew; and a niece.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tell City. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery in Tell City. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City chapel. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to American Heart Association.

Edward M. 'Rhubarb' Hubert

TELL CITY, Ind. -- Edward M. "Rhubarb" Hubert, 83, of Tell City died there Friday, May 18, 2001, at Beverly Healthcare. The Apalona, Ind., native retired from General Electric in Tell City after 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a trustee for the Perry (Ind.) County Conservation Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and attending auctions. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Gehlhausen Hubert; a son, Mark Hubert; and two daughters, Helen Hubert and Frances Hubert.

Survivors include six sons, Maurice Hubert, Anthony Hubert, Mike Hubert, Randy Hubert and Ronnie Hubert, all of Tell City, and Charles Hubert of Owensboro; five daughters, Ida Holtzman of Tell City, Margaret Dunn of St. Peters, Mo., Eileen Crow of Evansville, Alvina Poehlein of Derby, Ind., and Marietta Walker of Emma, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Leslie Hubert of Tell City.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold, Ind. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:15 a.m. Monday at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. Prayers will be said at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Paul Catholic Church or St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Robert 'Bob' Harding Jr.
1 June 2001

ST. MARKS, Ind. -- Robert "Bob" Harding Jr., 74, of St. Marks died there Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at his home. The Tell City, Ind., native was a Korean War Army veteran and owned Harding Christmas Tree Farm. He was a member of St. Mark Church and American Legion Post 213. He enjoyed hunting and trapping.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Harding; three sons, Robert Joseph Harding and David Lee Harding, both of St. Marks, and Allen Ray Harding of Clarksville, Ind.; two daughters, Suzanne Marie Buchanan of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Nancy Ann Etienne of Leopold, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Private services will be held at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home in Tell City. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery in Tell City with military rites conducted by American Legion 213. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Perry County (Ind.) Memorial Hospital or St. Mark Church.

James A. 'Jim' Daniel

CROSSVILLE, Ind. -- James A. "Jim" Daniel, 54, of Crossville died there Friday, May 18, 2001, at his home. The Owensboro native was a disabled truck driver and member of Crossville Ruritan Club.

Survivors include two sons, James A. Daniel II and George Daniel, both of Owensboro; a daughter, Mishalle Daniel of Owensboro; his mother, Katherine Daniel of Crossville; and two brothers, Larry Daniel of Gold Beach, Ore., and David Daniel of Crossville.

Services are at 11 a.m. today at Sturm Funeral Home in Crossville, Ill. Burial will be in White County Memorial Gardens in Carmi, Ill.
