Virginia M. Henderson, 95, of Evansville, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral and formerly attended Holy

Rosary Catholic Church. She retired from Hermann's Candy Store.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Barbara Williams and her husband, Mike, of Evansville, granddaughters, Jennifer Henderson and friend, Lloyd Speakes, of Evansville and Beth Ann Phillips and husband, Rick, of Newburgh; sisters, Rose Gough of Newburgh and Dorothy Thornburgh of Evansville; nieces and nephews; and her dear friends, Don Stansbury and Michael Wagoner.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joe Henderson, son, John J. Henderson, sisters, Edna Mann, Roberta Ubelhor and Mary Thornburg; and brothers, Bernard, John and James Drexler.

Services will be Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at 8:30 a.m., at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel. 800 S. Hebron and continued at 9 a.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral, with Father Harold Hammerstein, O.S.B. officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2009, at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedict's Cathedral at 1328 Lincoln Ave. Evansville, IN 47714.

The family would like to wish a special thank you to Father Ted Tempel, Father Attila Frohlich, and the staff at Good Samaritan West Unit.

Luella L. Gilles

Luella L. Gilles, 82, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation.

She worked at Grusin's Dept. Store and DeJong's in the alterations departments. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in the county for more than 30 years, and is currently a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, SWIRCA, and St. Ann's Altar Society. Luella loved to quilt, sew and crochet.

Luella is survived by her husband of 60 years, Urban T. Gilles; son, Duane Gilles and wife, Jeannette, of Evansville; daughters, Brenda Neely and husband, Karl, of Henderson, Ky., Clara Featherstone and husband, Jim, of Evansville; sister, Othilia Rupprecht of Evansville; and grandchildren, Erin Gilles, Jacquelyn Gilles, Lori Bootz and husband, Ryan, Jessica Neely, Kelly Featherstone, Sarah Neely and Chris Featherstone.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, with Father Paul Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, August 17, 2009, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave., and from 9:30 a.m. to services Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare Monastery and VistaCare Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Haven, and Casey at VistaCare Hospice for their loving care.

Eleanor Kahl
Born in Tell City, IN on Jan. 27, 1917

Eleanor Kahl (née Knaebel) passed away on August 16, 2009, at her home.

Eleanor was born January 27, 1917 in Tell City, Indiana. She was the sixth child of seven children born to John and Anna (Gasser) Knaebel. She graduated from Tell City High School, left in 1942 to work at Chrysler in Evansville, Indiana. She then worked for the Downtown Business and Professional Association retiring after thirty-nine years. She attended Lockyear Business College.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Leroy Kahl; sisters, Loretta Knaebel Grayson, and Claretta Knaebel; brothers, Albert, Howard, Elmer and Harry Knaebel. She was the last of the seven Knaebel children.

Eleanor was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ, downtown.

Surviving is her daughter, Sharon Jones; grandsons, Randall Hill, Bryan Hill (Anna) and Kevin Hill; seven great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday August 20, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN, with Reverend John Branam officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, 314 Market St., Evansville, IN, 47708.

Emil A. Gerling
Born on Aug. 5, 1936

Emil A. Gerling, Jr., 73, died of Parkinson's disease Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Columbia Healthcare, where he resided the past year and a half with his wife, Betty.

They would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary August 21st. He was the only child of Emil Sr. and Helen Gerling. Emil graduated from Reitz High School and enjoyed gardening and traveling before retiring from Hahn, Inc. for health reasons. He was a member of the Northeast Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Emil is survived by his wife, Betty; sisters-in-law, Mary (Reuben) Williams and Christina Heins, both of Sun City, Arizona.

There will be graveside services at Rose Hill cemetery, in Newburgh, on Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 1 p.m., officiated by Emil's brother-in-law, Reuben Williams.

M. Jane Adams, 76, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2009, at her home.

She is survived by sisters, Jerry Tucker and husband, Dan, of Evansville, Colleen Behme and husband, Bob, of Washington, Ind., and Mary Weber of Evansville; brother, Larry "Butch" Adams and wife, Carolyn, of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.

Jane was a retired Eastern Airlines ticket agent in Evansville, Indianapolis, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Houston, Texas. She was formerly employed by Windsor Plastics, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, The Daughters of Isabella and the Queen's Daughters.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ann Adams, and her sister, Barbara Ann Crudo.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 26, at 9:30 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 305 Court St., Evansville. Burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, 626 N. First Ave.

Teckla Cecilia Aichle
Born on Feb. 16, 1919

Teckla Cecilia Aichle went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2011 at age 92 in Corona, CA at the residence of her daughter JoAnn Emge and son-in-law Jerry Emge with whom she had lived since 1996. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by many people whose lives she touched. Her family was a very important part of her daily life.

Teckla retired from K-Mart and prior to that she worked at Shane Manufacturing as a seamstress. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, Yahtzee and other games with friends and family. She was a Cubs fan for many years. Since living in California she became an avid fan of the Angels and Lakers. Teckla was a long time member of the Evansville Athletic Club and she enjoyed countless dances with her husband Art. As a proficient seamstress she used her talent quilting at St. Theresa Catholic church in Evansville. She also cooked meals for the homeless in Evansville for many years.

For the last nine years, when her health permitted, she has attended St. Mary Magdalene Catholic church in Corona. In recent years, when she was unable to attend church, communion and prayer visitations were provided by staff and friends from St. Mary Magdalene. In addition, pastoral home and hospital visits were also provided by staff and members of Crossroads Christian Church in Corona. Her family is grateful for all the visitations and prayers. Thanks also go to the hospice doctors, nurses, volunteers and social workers for the amazing and loving care that they provided. She had many personal attendants over the last few years and they all provided amazing care. The family thanks them dearly.

Teckla was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 1982 and her parents, William and Anna Weyer. Also preceding her in death were sisters Viola Hormuth, Marie Sartore and Roseanna McAtee along with brothers Urban Weyer, Arthur A. (Jack) Weyer, Randolph Rope (Doc) Weyer and Norman L. Weyer.

Teckla is survived by her son Dr. Steven Aichle and his wife Colleen of Fallbrook, CA; daughter JoAnn Emge and her husband Jerry of Corona, CA; grandchildren, Michelle Emge of Perrysburg, OH, Kristi Emge Camplin of Corona, CA, Seth Aichle and his wife Carly of Oceanside, CA, Mark Aichle of Fallbrook, CA, Caroline Aichle Ware and her husband Justin (Jay) of Richardson, TX; great-grandchildren Jason Camplin, Jacob Camplin, Madison Camplin, Taylor Camplin, Colton Hudson, Jaxon Hudson, Teckla Ware, Victor Ware, Lana Aichle and Laya Aichle; brothers Raymond of Crawfordsville, IN and William of Bradenton, FL.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, August 12, 2011 at Ziemer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 6300 N First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714 will a memorial service at 6:30 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 am Saturday, August 13, 2011 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 600 Herndon Dr., Evansville, IN 47711 with Fr. Ted Tempel officiating.

Burial will immediately follow the Mass at Saint Joseph cemetery.

Sandra Beaman

Sandra Beaman, 79, of Evansville, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born January 14, 1932.

Sandra had a keen sense of style and worked as a fashion model in New York City as a young adult. Later, she enjoyed traveling in Europe with her husband, Don, and developed a love of fine art.

While living in Texas & Kentucky, Sandra enjoyed sharing the love of Christ to children through the 5 Day Club Program as a part of Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Sandra loved her family and is survived by son & daughter-in-law Barry & Sherri Beaman; son & daughter-in-law Don & Kathy Beaman; grandson, Brent Beaman; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Jennifer & Michael Groseclose; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Allison & Jamie Jarausch; granddaughter & fiancé, Amanda Beaman & Matthew Keil; and great-granddaughter, Lily Beaman.

The private family service will be Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Ziemer Funeral Home, North Chapel. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.

There will be no visitation.

Frank G. Cook, 81, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Deaconess Hospice Center.

He was formally an Indiana State Policeman and retired as a Special Agent with the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Bureau after 24 years of service, earning the Albert Gallatin Award from The Department of The Treasury. Frank was a Veteran of the Korean War and member of VFW #2953 and American Legion Abe Lincoln Post. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed his winters in Florida, grilling for friends and family, was an outstanding father and role model. He also enjoyed playing the banjo and singing whenever possible.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha in 2009 and his sister Clarice Bennett.

Frank is survived by his daughters Holly Cook of Roachdale, IN, Angela Osborne, Robin Zinn and husband Ed, Tammy Morgan and husband Chris; sons Greg Cook and wife Tammie, Jeff Cook and wife Ann all of Evansville; grandchildren Jacob Cook, Jenny Repphan, Alyssa Cook, Joshua Cook, Tabitha Cook, Andrew, Samuel and Anna Leigh Osborne, Devon Waddell, Evan and Erica Zinn, Nicholas and Alex Morgan; great grandchildren Noah Cook and Emma Lou Boarman; brothers John D. Cook, Carl E. Boley, William H. Boley, James A. Boley; sisters Patricia A. Hite and Carol B. Proffitt.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 pm Friday August 12, 2011 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am CST Saturday August 13, 2011 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd, Evansville, IN 47714 with Fr. Bernard Etienne officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery in Corydon, Indiana, Saturday at 2:30 pm CST.
