George Bennett
George L. Bennett, 98, of Artesia, Calif., formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Artesia Christian Nursing Home.
He worked at Hayes Freight Lines and retired after 10 years at Evansville State Hospital.
He was a World War II veteran with service in the Army and Navy, a 33rd degree Mason and a member of Constellation Masonic Lodge 748, Evansville Scottish Rite and Hadi Shrine Temple.
He was a golfer and restored bicycles he bought at yard sales.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Weigert of Cypress, Calif.; six grandchildren, Barbara Craig, Arlene Cates and Gayle, Lynn, Larry and Lyle Weigert; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona "Honey" in 1997; and a daughter, Ruth Bledsoe.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Mary Hendrickson officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery
with military rites.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon to service time at the funeral home.

Annette Mushinski
JASPER - Annette J. Mushinski, 43, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at home of cancer. She work-ed at Schnitzelbank Restaurant for more than 10 years.
She was a member of Ladies of the Moose and Jasper High School Class of 1976.
Surviving are her husband, Dave; a son, Matthew Paul of Jasper; her mother, Irma Pfau of Jasper; three sisters, Donna Blaize and Sharon Buehler, both of Jasper, and Beverly Rauschelbach of Springfield, Mo.; and four brothers, Mark Pfau of Springbrook, Wis., Bart and Douglas Pfau, both of Jasper, and Pat Pfau of Dubois.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel, with entombment in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a memorial service at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Palliative Care of Jasper Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center or Dubois County Cancer Association.
Infant Sarah Sparks
GLENDALE - Sarah Ann Sparks, 6-month-old daughter of Cynthia Chalupa and John Duncan Sparks, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center. The cause of death is under investigation by the Vanderburgh County Coroner's office.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
Also surviving are a brother, Brandon Michael, at home; grandparents, Mary and Phillip Chalupa of Muscatine, Iowa, Sheila and Stanley McCallum of Ludington, Mich., and Janice and Robert Sparks of Scottsville, Mich.; and a great-grandmother.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Church, the Rev. John Pavelka officiating, with burial in Sugarland Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Gill Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.
Aaron Niehaus Jr.
HOLLAND - Aaron D. Niehaus Jr., 62, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Jasper Memorial Hospital of kidney failure.
He was a retired plumber.
He was a Vietname War Army veteran and a member of St. James Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 343.
Surviving are a stepson, Gene Wampler of Huntingburg; a sister, Anna Mae Williams of Huntingburg; and two brothers, Delbert of Hamilton, Ohio, and Donald G. of Huntingburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial in St. James Cemetery
in Holland with military rites.

Joann Ribis
TELL CITY - Joann S. Ribis, 69, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of complications of pneumonia.
She retired in 1987 after 32 years at General Electric in Tell City.
Surviving are a son, Paul Olberding of Tell City; three sisters, Helen Snyder and Betty Litherland, both of Tell City, and Mary Ruth Carr of Richmond; and a granddaughter, Lori Olberding.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with prayer services at 4 p.m., and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel.

Stonewall Craig
CHAND-LER - Stonewall "Jack" Craig, 78, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of injuries suffered in an au- tomobile accident the day before.
He retired from Whirlpool Corp. and Bates Oil Co.
He was a World War II and
Korean War Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Mary Lou; a daughter, Misty Hutchinson of Chandler; a son, Jay Craig of Newburgh; a sister, Hazel Payne of Boonville; a brother, Charles of Boonville; four grandchildren, Jason and Katelyn Craig and Dylan and Demi Hutchinson; and nieces and nephews.
His body has been donated to Indiana University School of Medicine at his request.
Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel is handling arrangements.

Bill Hughes
OAKLAND CITY - Bill E. Hughes, 74, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at Wirth Regional Hospital of complications of dia- betes.
He was a farmer and a member of Friendship General Baptist Church, Princeton Eagles 361, Princeton Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Legion Post 256 and Evansville Owls Nest 30.
Surviving are four daughters, Pam Skinner of Oakland City and Tamara Buck, Marla Owen and Karla Cooper, all of Princeton; a son, John of Oakland City; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a friend and caregiver, Bertha Dixon of Oakland City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean (Young), in 1974 and a son, James, in 1998.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Montgomery Cemetery.

Dorothy Schuckman
VINCENNES - Dorothy Frances Cannon Schuckman, 86, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at home.
She retired as office manager for Dr. Ralph Smith.
She was a member of Lower Indiana Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star and Francis Vigo Daughters of the American Republic. She was past president of Delta Theta Tau Sorority and a Gray Lady.
Surviving are her husband, Carl; two sons, James Cannon of Terre Haute and John E. Cannon of Dublin, Ohio; two stepsons, David and Dan Schuckman, both of Vincennes; a brother, James Decker of Spencer, Ind.; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchldren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Cannon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
