age 91; of New Albany
Funeral services for Gertrude M. Gray, 91, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany.
She was a native of Jeffersonville and the former Gertrude M. Berkenmeyer.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Lee and Gene A. Gray, Jeffersonville; three sisters, Helen Dailey, New Albany, Delores Belcher, Falls of the Rough, Ky. and Sharon Geswein, Indianapolis; a sister, Francis Dear, Ramsey; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Gray Sr.; a son, Bill H. Gray Jr. and a grandson, Dale Gray.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.
Elizabeth Ann Mather
age 94; of New Albany
Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Mather, 94, of New Albany, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was native of Borden and was the former Elizabeth Ann Fisher. She was a retired seamstress from the old M. Fine & Sons Clothing Manufacturers and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, New Albany.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roland D. and Beth Mather, Floyds Knobs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Mather.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 27 and after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Misty R. (DeWitt) Pfeiffer
33; of New Albany
Funeral services for Misty R. (DeWitt) Pfeiffer, 33, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. E.D.T Thursday, Aug. 28, at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Ln., with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery
in Salem. She died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at her residence.
She was an employee of Diversified Opthalmics in New Albany and a 1989 graduate of New Albany High School.
Survivors include her mother, Dawn DeWitt; father, Gary DeWitt, Clarksville; brothers, Brad, Jeremy and Timothy DeWitt, all of Clarksville; and her grandfather, Joe Bush, Salem.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. E.D.T. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home.

Martha Louise Wilburn
age 90; of Florida
Funeral services for Martha Louise Wilburn, 90, of La Belle, Fla., formerly of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Oakbrook of La Belle Nursing Home.
She was the former Martha Louise Wolf, a native of New Albany and a homemaker. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Ft. Myers, Fla.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie Millican, La Belle, Fla., and Joyce Glennon, Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Wilburn.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Chester P. Hayes
age 73; Army veteran
Funeral services for Chester P. Hayes, 73, of Henryville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Henryville, with burial in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. He died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at his home.
He was a native of Sunfish, Ky., an Army veteran and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was a member of Alcoholic Anonymous and has just celebrated this past May, 28 wonderful years of sobriety. He was retired from ICI Americas, Charlestown.
Survivors include six sons, George Hayes and wife, Barbara, North Vernon, Michael Hayes and wife, Mary, New Albany, Roy Hayes and wife, Violet, Pekin, John Hayes and wife, Connie, Henryville, Joseph Hayes and wife, Diane, Carnation, Wash. and William Hayes and wife, Patsy, Henryville; three daughters, Ann Worrall and husband, Will, Ala., Theresa Spicer, Phoenix, Ariz. and Patricia Sales and husband, Neil of Ga.; a brother, Warren Hayes, Sunfish, Ky.; five sisters, Catherine Grant, Vera Delaney, Edith Thornsberry, Alberta Roberts and Maude Zoubek; 21 grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Hayes and Hallie Bright Hayes,
Visitation at R. D. Pyke Funeral Service, Henryville, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 26. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Funeral services for June E. Jones, 70, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. She died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Wedgewood Manor Healthcare, Clarksville.
She was a native of Charlestown and a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph W. Jones, New Albany and George E. Jones Jr., Jeffersonville; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Jones Sr.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Richard John Schindler
age 49; of Charlestown
Graveside services for Richard John Schindler, 49, of Charlestown, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Charlestown. He died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Maschatatuck State Hospital.
He was a native of Clark County.
Survivors include four brothers, Michael Schindler, Cincinnati, Ohio, Joe and Lawrence Schindler, Charlestown and Martin Schindler, New Washington and six sisters, Margaret Ann White and Dorothy Lampe, Cincinnati, Ohio, Christine Steinwedle, New Albany, Carolyn Ernstberger, Sellersburg, Marilyn Jackson, Hanover and Lori Senster, Ridland, Calif.

Lane Christopher Hammond

Lane Christopher Hammond, infant son of Steven and Katie Shipman Hammond, New Albany, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He is also survived by several grandparents.

Funeral services for Julie Blake Gregory, 36, of Louisville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Clarksville, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Norton Hospital, Louisville.
She was sales manager for Willis Klein Decorative Hardware, a member of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church and committee chairman for the local American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
Survivors include her husband, Aubrey E. Gregory Jr.; mother, Mary Helen Blake-King and stepfather, David King, New Albany and a sister, Jan Blake-Pearson and brother-in-law, Joe Pearson, New Albany.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl E. Blake and sister, Lisa Blake.
Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 26.
