Frank M. Adams Jr.
age 63; Ogle Center architect
Funeral services for Frank M. Adams Jr., 63, of Columbus, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at North Christian Church in Columbus. He and is wife, Susan Prather Adams, died in an automobile accident Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003 near Gaylor, Mich.
He was born in New Albany, went to Silver Street School, graduated from New Albany High School in 1958, received his architecture degree from Miami or Ohio University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He lived in Columbus for 36 years and was the head of Frank Adams Associates. He was an architect in Columbus, was the architect for Knobview Hall and the Paul V. Ogle Center at Indiana University Southeast. He was an elder, past president and trustee of North Christian Church in Columbus and was a member of the Columbus Rotary Club, Harrison Lake Country Club and the American Institute of Architects.
Survivors include a daughter, Tricia; and a son, Ben; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Adams Sr.; a sister, Susan; mother-in-law, Jean Prather; brothers-in-law, David, Richard and Doug; and a sister-in-law, Sally.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Weaver Funeral Home in Columbus and after noon on the day of the funeral. Visitation in New Albany will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams Sr.

Susan P. Adams
age 59; reading tutor
Funeral services for Susan P. Adams, 59, of Columbus, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 at North Christian Church in Columbus. She and her husband, Frank M. Adams, Jr. died in an automobile accident Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, near Gaylor, Mich.
She was a native of Columbus, graduated from North High School and Indiana University where she was a member of Sigma Kappa. She was an elementary school teacher and special reading teacher tutor. She was an elder, Sunday school teacher and charter member of North Christian Church in Columbus. She was a member of PEO and the Culture Club. She served as a guide and docent for the architectural tours of Columbus.
Survivors for the two include a daughter, Tricia; a son, Ben; her mother, Jean Prather; three brothers, David, Richard and Doug; a sister, Sally; sister-in-law, Susan and her mother and father-on-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Adams Sr.

Alaina R. Schmidt
age of Illinois
Prayers for Alaina Renee Schmidt will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mount Prospect, Ill. She died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003 ,in Park Ridge, Ill.
She was the infant daughter of Nathan R. and Stacey Schmidt.
Survivors other than her parents; her grandparents, Kenneth A. and Nancy Schmidt and Kenneth and Kathleen Sefcik; great-grandparents, Elinor Hammersmith and Emil and Gloria Sefcik; aunts and uncles, Kenneth Schmidt Jr., Leslie (John) Bierman and Allison Sefcik and many great aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until prayers at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the funeral home.

Shirley L. Warren
age 71; of Louisville
Funeral services for Shirley L. Warren, 71, of Louisville, were held Sunday, Aug. 31, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. She died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2003, at her home.
She was retired from the Jefferson County School System and a member of St. Andrew United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, John Warren; two sons, Perry and Craig Warren and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home.
Arville A. Orville Keel
age 72; World War II veteran
Funeral services for Arville A. Orville Keel, 72, of Jeffersonville, were held Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a construction crew superintendent. He was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church, Jeffersonville.
Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Keel; three daughters, Katrina Ball, Jacksonville, Fla., Rita Jo Salyers, Dumphries, Va., and Cynthia Ann Keel, Va.; a stepson, Jack May, Taylorsville, Ky.; two stepdaughters, Theresa Milby, Crestwood, Ky., and Ella Scott, Sardis, Tenn.; three brothers, Melvin Keel, Orange Springs, Fla., Nathan Keel, Grapeland, Texas and Ronald L. Keel, St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Grace Ballard, Alcoa and 10 grandchildren.
Juanita Jean Clegg
age 79; Census Bureau employee
Funeral services for Juanita Jean Clegg, 79, of New Albany will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was born May 26, 1924, in New Albany to Louis and Agnes Sperzel. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Census Bureau. She was a former member of Order of Eastern Star, an avid IU basketball fan, and loved to play bingo and travel with her family. She was a member of Culbertson Baptist Church, New Albany.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Edward Clegg Jr. and his wife Pam of Clarksville, and Rick Clegg of New Albany; three daughters, Marge Buford and her husband Roy of Indianapolis, Helen Hemberger and her husband Klaus of Logansport and Jo Ann Finney and her husband George of LaPorte; a sister, Marilyn Neal of Savannah, Ga.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several special canine friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Clegg Sr.; a brother, Lewis E. Sperzel Jr.; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Visitation at the funeral home was held after 9 a.m. this morning.

Marc D. 'Hooch' Dillahunty
age 51; Vietnam veteran
Funeral services for Marc D. "Hooch" Dillahunty, 51, of New Albany, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at Kindred Hospital, Louisville.
He was a former resident of Louisville. He was an Army veteran of the Vietname War. He was a retired line foreman for Louisville Gas & Electric Company.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dianna McCollum; a daughter, Amanda Dillahunty, New Albany; a son, Eric Dillahunty, New Albany; a brother Alan Dillahunty, Mandeville, Louisiana and a sister, Jan Balmer, Louisville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 3 and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
Ruth E. Grasser
age 82; of New Albany
Ruth E. Grasser, 82, of New Albany, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was formerly of Cleveland, Ohio. She was a bookkeeper.
Survivors include her sons, Bruce Grasser, Cleveland, Ohio, and Kenneth Grasser, New Albany; brother, Irwin B. Flagg, Jr., Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Grasser; father, Irwin B. Flagg Sr.; and mother, Ida Furnass.
The funeral and burial will be private.
There will be no visitation. R. D. Pyke Funeral Service, 209 Ferguson St., Henryville, is in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Mevlin W. Hemphill
age 82; Tennessee native
Funeral services for the Rev. Melvin W. Hemphill, 82, of New Albany, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in East Cemetery, near Alton. He died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at the home of his daughter.
He was a native of Ardmore, Tenn., a retired American Baptist minister and a member of Culbertson Baptist Church, New Albany. He served the following Indiana churches, Alton and Pleasant Ridge Baptist Churches of Leavenworth; Bethel Baptist Church, Filmore; Hopewell Baptist Church, Madison; First Baptist Church of Moores Hill; Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church, Scottsburg; Stanford Baptist Church, Stanford; New Liberty Baptist Church, Henryville and Fayetteville Baptist Church, Bedford. He was also a retiree of the old Methodist Evangelican Hospital, Louisville.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Adams and Lynda Cannon, New Albany; a son, Bill Hemphill, Smithville, N.J.; a sister, Dorothy Carpenter, Spring Hill; four grandchildren, Beth Stroud and husband, Jason, Matt Adams and wife, Elizabeth and Tim and James Cannon and four great-grandsons, Nolan, Nicholas and Nathan Stroud and William Adams.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma and a son, David W. Hemphill.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, and after 9 a.m. Friday.
