Norman Keith Clapp

age 60; of Charlestown

Funeral services for Norman Keith Clapp, 60, of Charlestown, were held Saturday, Aug. 23, at Grayson Funeral Home, New Washington, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery, New Washington. He died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Medical Center of Southern Indiana.

He was a retired employee of the Clark County Highway Department and a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, New Washington.

Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Jean Rhodes; a son, Bobby Clapp, Nabb and a daughter, Rhoda Clapp, Charlestown.

Leonard "Buddy" Ryan

age 65; of Clarksville

A memorial mass for Leonard "Buddy" Ryan, 65, of Clarksville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Clarksville. He died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at Rolling Hills Health Care Center, New Albany.

Survivors include his stepfather, Carroll Brown, Clarksville.

The body was cremated.

Chapman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pearl Elizabeth Waddell PICTURE

age 90; of Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Pearl Elizabeth Waddell, 90, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville.

She was a native of Elizabethtown, Ky. and a member of Gospel Chapel Church in Shepherdsville.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Simpson and her husband, Clarence, Jeffersonville; five grandchildren including Lana Gilbert and husband, Wayne, Jeffersonville, Billie Pedigo and husband, Greg, Louisville and Shawnet Shepherd, Clarksville; three great-grandchildren, Hope Belden and husband, David, Jeffersonville, January Jones, Jeffersonville and Drake Shepherd, Clarksville and four great-grandchildren, David Keith Belden, Zachary Belden, Megan Belden and Bailey Jones, all of Jeffersonville.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, and after 9 a.m. Saturday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the family, in care of Chapman Funeral Home, 431 W. Harrison Ave., Clarksville.

Carolina Elizabeth Wells

age 86; of Clarksville

Funeral services for Carolina Elizabeth Wells, 86, of Clarksville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Leitchfield, Ky., a retired date processor for American Life Insurance Co. and a member of Apet Shrine Guild.

Survivors include a nephew, Carroll Hughes.

Visitation at the funeral home will be after 9 a.m. Friday.

Thomas Homer Bachmann

age 81; of Floyds Knobs

Thomas Homer Bachmann, 81, of Floyds Knobs, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at his home.

He was a native of Louisville and a retired mechanical research and development engineer for the former Chemetron Corporation.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, the former Dorris Dietrich; two sons, Kurt T. Bachmann and his wife, Svetlana, Norman, Okla. and Kris W. Bachmann and his wife, Sara, Ft. Wayne and two grandchildren, Bronson and Kristina.

At the request of the deceased, the body was cremated. No visitation or service will be held.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Alzheimers Association, 3703 Taylorsville Rd., Suite 102, Louisville, Ky., 40220.

Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, is in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Rochner

age 88; of Lanesville

Funeral services for Wilma Rochner, 88, of Lanesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, and after 9 a.m. Friday at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home.

Stacy Ann Tennill PICTURE

age 30; bookkeeper/secretary

Funeral services for Stacy Ann Tennill, 30, of Laconia, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at University Hospital, Louisville.

She was a bookkeeper/secretary for Smith Firestone.

Survivors include her husband, Brian L. Tennill; father and stepmother, Mike D. and Sharon Smith, Jeffersonville; mother, Patty W. Smith, Jeffersonville; a sister, Shannon L. Bline, Jeffersonville; grandmothers, M. Helen Wheeler and Susan M. Smith, Jeffersonville; grandfather, Carl C. Smith, Lanesville and a nephew, Shane M. Bline, Jeffersonville.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 18, and after 9 a.m. Friday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Humane Association of Clark County.

Shirley Madge Bridgewater

age 88; of Scottsburg

Funeral services for Shirley Madge Bridgewater, 88, of Scottsburg, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Runge Funeral Home, Davenport, Iowa, with burial in Fairmont Cemetery in Davenport. She died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2002, in Davenport.

Runge Funeral Home, 838 E. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, is in charge of arrangements.

Patrick Boyle Healy

age 83; former New Albany resident

Graveside services for Patrick Boyle Healy, 83, of Arlington, Va., formerly of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at his home.

Coots Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Justus T. Strother

age 79: of Paoli

Justus T. Strother, 79, of Paoli, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County. The body was cremated and burial will take place at a later date at Ames Chapel Cemetery.

McAdams Mortuary, 500 SW First St., Paoli, is in charge of arrangements.

George Alexander

age 74; of Louisville

Funeral services for George Alexander, 74, of Louisville, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Lincoln Park Apostolic Church, 1216 Adams St., Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Kings Daughters Health Care in Louisville.

He was a native of Louisville, a 35 year employee of Louisville and Nashville Railroad Company and a member of the Lincoln Park Apostolic Church in Clarksville.

Survivors include Sally Crawford, who cared for him; Juanita Bowman; Thelma Brightwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until time of the service.
