Funeral services for Nora Jean O'Neil of Jeffersonville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in Jeffersonville.
She was retired from the Louisville Tabulating Company and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jeffersonville Knights of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her father, James O'Neil, mother, Mary O'Neil and a sister, Josephine Hetrick.
Visitation at Coots Funeral Home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Crusade for Children.
Richard Andrew Valentine
age 47; truck driver
Richard Andrew Valentine, 47, of Sellersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Alton.
He was a truck driver for Haas Cabinet Company and a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 133, Alton.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lambert; a daughter, Joy Valentine, Clarksville; a stepdaughter, Lisa Lambert, Louisville; stepmother, Stella Valentine, Henryville; two brothers, Jim Valentine, Sellersburg and Curtis Wadkins, New Albany; three sisters, Judy Largan, Elliston, Va., Phyllis Scharrer, Clarksville and Donna Blevins, Henryville and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Helen Valentine.
Visitation at Garr Funeral Home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, with cremation and a private service to be held at a later date.

Donald L. Wallace
73; member of Masons 266
Funeral services for Donald L. Wallace, 73, of Borden, will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Generations Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Big Springs Methodist Cemetery
in Big Springs, Ky. He died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
He was self-employed and worked repairing electrical motors for more than 40 years. He was the son of the late Enos and Hazel (Iler) Wallace and a native of Detroit, Mich. He was raised in Ohio County, Ky., before moving to Louisville and then to Borden. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 266 and reached 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite and he was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Gibbs and her husband, David, Algonquin, Ill.; a son, Stephen D. Wallace and his wife, Bille Jene, Sellersburg; three brothers, Russell Wallace, Horse Branch, Ky., Bobby Wallace, North Richland Hills, Tx., and Sam Wallace, Owensboro, Ky.; a sister, Jonell Patterson, Horse Branch, Ky.; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean M. (Martin) Wallace.
Visitation at the funeral home, 3309 Ballard Lane in New Albany, will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5.

Kevin E. Bryan
age 53; Army veteran
Funeral services for Kevin E. Bryan, 53, of New Albany, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with interment in the New Albany National Cemetery. He died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of Louisville, a retired air conditioning and refrigeration technician and an Army veteran of the Vietname War.
Survivors include two daughters, Megan Twomey of Big Flats, N.Y., and Caroline Bryan, New Albany; his parents, Franklin Gene and Rosemary Bryan, New Albany; two sisters, Marsha Antolik of Wisconsin and Deborah Smith of West Point, Ky., and a grandchild.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 5, at the funeral home.

Georgia Lee Nail
age 81; of New Albany
Funeral services for Georgia Lee Nail, 81, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery. She died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany.
She was the former Georgia Gumm and a native of Carwood. She was a homemaker and a member of the Heartland Church of the Nazarene in Floyds Knobs.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Rikke Hopper, New Albany; a grandson, Eric Jordan, Elizabeth and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Aloha Taylor Smith
age 66; retired nurse
Funeral services for Aloha Taylor Smith, 66, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at at Chapel Hill Church, Borden, with burial in Chapel Hill Church Cemetery. She died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was in the insurance business for more than 20 years and then she was a nurse until she retired. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1693 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Chapel Hill Christian Church, Borden.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley C. and Mary L. Taylor. She was born Sept. 21, 1937 in New Albany.
Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Smith; children, Lonald L. Fink, Loogootee, Thomas J. Fink, Borden, Robert W. Smith, Louisville, Wayne E. Smith, Borden, Tonya R. Carr, Borden and Mary L. Short, New Albany; a brother, Stanley C. Taylor II, Borden; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6. Visitation at the church will be after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Paul S. Stephenson
age 86; retired postal carrier
Funeral services for Paul S. Stephenson, 86, of Leavenworth, were held at 11 a.m. this morning, Monday, Jan. 5, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, with interment in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens. He died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Cedar Court in Corydon.
He was a native of Crawford County, a retired U.S. postal carrier, a member of the Stephenson family business, including the old Stephenson Funeral Home and the Stephenson General Store, the Leavenworth Community Presbyterian Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Joy (Vernon) Stephenson; a son, Dr. P. Ronald Stephenson and his wife, Sally, of Bloomington and two grandchildren, Scott Stephenson of Fort Collins, Colo. and Sarah Stephenson of Asheville, N.C.
Visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Betty Jean Chanley, 71, of Leavenworth, were held at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 5, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens. She died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Harrison County Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Chanley Sr.

in Corydon. She died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 5, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
Brenda Yontz Holbrook
age 59; of Corydon
Funeral services for Brenda Yontz Holbrook, 59, of Corydon, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
She was an employee at Robert H. Clarkson Insurance Agency in Louisville, and spent 39 years in the insurance industry, at both company and agent level.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Holbrook; a son, Jack D. Holbrook of Jeffersonville; a sister, Ann Huddleston of Clarksville; 11 nieces and five nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 5, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
