Funeral services for Katherine J. Banet Sortet, 91, of Navilleton, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Navilleton, with burial in St. Mary's Navilleton Cemetery. She died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Navilleton.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy C. Becht and her husband, Francis, Floyds Knobs and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emile L. Sortet and two sisters, Clara and Theresa Fezy.
Visitation at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Saline Denton
81; formerly of Salem
Funeral services for Saline Denton, 81, of Sellersburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Hardinsburg Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Sellersburg Health & Rehab.
She was formerly of Salem and a member of Sellersburg First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Tony Denton and his wife, Cathy, New Albany; two daughters, Judith Stroud and her husband, Davis, Sellersburg and Brenda Grey and her husband, James B. , Itasca, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Denton.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 26 and after 9 a.m. Friday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
Mary Katherine Lynch
61; of Starlight
Funeral services for Mary Katherine Lynch, 61, of Starlight, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at St. John the Baptist Church, with burial in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at her home.
She was a native of Louisville, a retired LPN for Clark Memorial Hospital and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, William E. Lynch; two sons, Joe Lynch and wife, Nancy, Memphis and David Lynch and wife, Mary Elaine, Starlight; two daughters, Laura Haskins and husband, Rick, New Albany and Lisa McCullum and husband, David, Lanesville; a brother, Ricky Wagner, Louisville; a sister, Nancy Banta, Jeffersonville and six grandchildren.
Visitation at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home, Market Street Chapel, will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
Jeffrey A. Owens
48; served in the National Guard
A memorial service for Jeffrey A. Owens, 48, of Clarksville, will be held at noon, Monday, Aug. 30, at Floyds Knobs Christian Church, with private burial to follow in the church cemetery. He died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Riverview Village, Clarksville.
He served in the National Guard and afterward worked at Camp Atterbury. He was a member of Floyds Knobs Christian Church.
Survivors include his father, Morton Junior Owens; two brothers, Mark S. Owens and wife, Sherry and Phillip R. Owens and wife, Brenda; a niece, Lori Owens; two nephews, Adam and Bradley Owens; his only surviving aunt and uncle, Ruth and Chester Robinson and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Elaine Cadle.
The body was cremated.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care of Southern Indiana.

Harold W. Brown
87; of New Albany
Funeral services for Harold W. Brown, 87, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, with burial in Martinsburg Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, at Rolling Hills Healthcare in New Albany.
He was retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Louisville and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his three sons, William Brown, New Albany, Herschel Morrison, Modesto, Calif. and John Morrison, Memphis, Ind.; a daughter, Beverly Neukam, Moore Haven, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen C. Brown.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27.
Charles Edward 'Chuck' Small Jr.
43; self-employed
Funeral services for Charles Edward "Chuck" Small Jr., 43, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, as the result of an automobile accident.
He was a native of Louisville, a self-employed drywall installer and finisher and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Small III and his wife, Christin and Eric Small, of Jeffersonville; his father, Charles E. Small Sr., Louisville; mother, Ruth A. Licata, Pompano Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Lois King, Audrey Small, Beth Faulkenburg and Becky Reynolds, all of Clarksville; a granddaughter, Catrina Marie Small and the mother of his children, Margie Knopp, Jeffersonville.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, and after 9 a.m. Friday.

69; of New Albany
Funeral services for Jack G. Harris, 69, of New Albany, will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 27, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville.
He was a native of Stanford, Ky., a retired conductor for Norfolk Southern Railway and a member of the Studebaker Driver's Club of America.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Dorsey Harris; three sons, Rick Harris and his wife, Darlene, Gary Harris and his wife, Michele and Brian Harris; a sister, Emogene Greene; two brothers, Frank Harris and Marvin Harris; and six grandchildren, Cory, Jessica, Ashlie, Kendall, Kylie and Tommy.

Mary Ann Teipe Meyer
76; registered nurse
Funeral services for Mary Ann Teipe Meyer, 76, of Princeton, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Princeton, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. She died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville.
She was a member of the last cadet class of nurses at St. Mary's School of Nursing in Evansville at the end of World War II and then practiced as a registered nurse prior to raising a family. After marrying Robert J. Meyer in 1949, they raised 14 children. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton and was also an active 4-H leader for more than 25 years.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Fulda, Greenwood, Charlene Meyer, West Lafayette, Donna Martin, Indianapolis, Stephen Meyer and wife, Patti, Bennington, Nancy Potter and husband, Marvin, Jeffersonville, Annette Keller, Toledo, Ohio; Dennis Meyer, Wheatland, Lawrence Meyer and wife, Susan, Brazil, Richard Meyer, Princeton, Ronald Meyer and wife, Lesa, Bloomington, Elaine Meyer, Bloomington, Gregory Meyer and wife, Chris, Kinston, N.C., Lori K. Meyer, New York, N.Y. and Brian Meyer, Griffith; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Titzer, Santa Claus and a brother, Alvin Teipe, Evansville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1991 and in recent years by her sisters, Helen Dewig, Thelma Wagner and Wilma Kensler.
Visitation the funeral home will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 26 at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 North Main St., Princeton. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
