Glen Wininger

BICKNELL - Glen "Gene" Wininger, 57, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes of heart failure.

He was a farmer.

Surviving are a half sister, Juanita Evans of Vincennes; a brother, Tom of Vincennes; and two half brothers, Ernie Baker of St. Louis and Harold Baker of Texas.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. EST today in Upper Indiana Cemetery.

Friends may call noon to 1:45 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home in Vincennes.

Carra Wertman

DALE - Carra (Tribbie) Wertman, 72, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand of heart fail ure. She was a seamstress and quilter, Protestant and a member of the Chrisney Senior Citizens.

Surviving are two sons, Don of Dale and James of Evanston; two sisters, Linda Summers of Huntingburg and Anna Laura Hartley of Gentryville; and a brother, David Tribbie of Newburgh. Her husband, Victor, died in 1997 and a son, Walter, died in 1993.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory Dale Chapel, with burial in Dale Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Calvin Henzman

STENDAL - Calvin Reed Henzman, 78, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center in Evansville. He had been a driver for North American Van Lines and retired in 1981 as a master sergeant from the Army National Guard after 28 years as a mechanic and truck driver. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.

He was a member of Garrison Chapel Methodist Church in Heilman.

Surviving are a daughter, Jodean Andrews of Jasper; two sons, Michael L. of Newburgh and David L. of Evansville; two sisters, Nell Hause and Pearl Ellis, both of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Heather and Christopher Henzman, Carrie Breeze and Becky Hudgins; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. His wife, Doreen F. (Cummings), died this year.

Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Friday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial in Garrison Chapel Cemetery in Heilman, with military rites.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Harold Glenn

CANNELTON - Harold Glenn, 76, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Beverly Health Care in Tell City of complications of emphysema.

He retired after more than 40 years from Can-Clay Corp., he raised horses and ponies. He was a World War II Army veteran, a graduate of Cannelton High School and member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Harold Lee and John David, both of Cannelton, and Danny Joe of Troy; two sisters, Cecil Kincaid and Edna Hubbs, both of Tell City; a brother, William "Pooner" Glenn of Cannelton; seven grandchildren, Karri Wheeler, Kelli Wilgus, Kristi Meunier, Matthew, Jeff and Courtney Glenn and Lisa Briones; and three great-grandchildren.

His wife, Gertrude (Shadwick), died in 1998.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Huber Funeral Home Cannelton Chapel, with burial in New Cliff Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Infant Charles Stepro

CHRISNEY - Charles Michael Stepro, son of Michael and Lisa (Quigley) Stepro, was stillborn Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

Also surviving are two sisters, Whitney Fuchs of Tell City and Danni Jo Stepro of Chrisney; a brother, Ryan Fuchs of Tell City; and grandparents, Fred and Sandra (Bolin) Lumpkins and Chuck and Karen Quigley.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel. Matilda Emerson HAUBSTADT - Matilda "Tillie" Ralph Emerson, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center in Evansville.

She and her first husband, J.B. Ralph, who died in 1967, owned the Lakeview Truck Stop.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and was a former member of the Altar Society and Daughters of Isabella.

Surviving are two sons, Paul and Steve Ralph, both of Haubstadt; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her second husband, Myron Emerson, also preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Home, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

Darwin Kuester

FORT BRANCH - Darwin W. "Chub" Kuester, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of heart failure. He retired in 1986 after 49 years with the R.J. Kuester Trucking Co.

He was a World War II Army veteran and member of St. Lucas United Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Elsie (Garrison); a daughter, Ramona Skelton of Fort Branch; three sisters, Verda Kruse, Velma Kruse and Viola Graper, all of Fort Branch; two grandchildren, James Darwin and Whitney Skelton; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stodghill Funeral Home, with burial in St. Lucas United Church of Christ Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church.

Julia Lee
Julia R. Lee, 95, of Newburgh, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at the Newburgh Healthcare Center.

She was a member of Trinity Unit- ed Methodist Church in Evansville.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Charles Browning of Evansville; and nieces and nephews, including, Lewis Browning, who care for her.

Her husband, Harry, died in 1975.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Stephen Johnson officiating, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to service time at the funeral home.

James Thomas

James C. Thomas, 72, of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center of complications of an aneurysm. He retired in 1990 after 36 years with Whirlpool Corp., was a member of Local 808, an Air Force veteran, attended Christian Fellowship Church and enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marian (Barton); a daughter, Beth Hanneken of Mount Carmel, Ill.; a son, James L. of Evansville; a sister, Evelyn Muir of Castle Rock, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Jillian Hanneken, McKenzie Thomas and Mitchell Mosby.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, the Rev. Spencer Downs officiating, with burial in McCutchanville Cemetery, with military rites.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the American Cancer Society.

Neoma Drury

Neoma Pearl (Devin) Drury, 88, of Central City, Ky., mother of Juanita Russ of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at the Muhlenburg Community Hospital in Greenville, Ky.

She was a member of the Church of God in Central City.

Also surviving are two daughters, Viola Erwin of Beechmont, Ky., and Anna Shankman of Gresham, Ore.; two sons, George Davis of Madisonville, Ky., and Roy Davis of Central City; a sister, Rosa Yarnell of Lewisburg, Ky.; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, William Davis and Hersheal Drury; and a daughter, Helen O'Neal.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery there.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

'Mag' Bohm

Magnus Richard "Mag" Bohm, 85, of Delray Dunes, Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, in Boynton Beach.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Canida; a daughter, Virginia B. Campbell; two granddaughters, Karen Chamberlain and Kimberly Carter; and two great-grandchildren.

Private services were handled by Scobee-Ireland-Potter Funeral Home in Delray Beach, Fla.

Memorial contributions may be made to Light House for the Blind of The Palm Beaches or Bethesda Memorial Fund.
