Private services will be held at the convenience of the family for Linda L. (McCutcheon) Bowers, 57, of Hampton Falls, N.H. She died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, in Exeter, N.H.
She was a graduate of English High School. She had resided in Hampton Falls, N.H. since 1991. Prior to this she lived in Saudi Arabia for 13 years and in Montana for several years.
She shared 32 years of marriage with her husband, Joel M. Bowers.
Survivors also include a son, Todd C. Bowers, Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Emily B. Bowers, Hampton Falls, N.H.; two brothers, Gerald N. McCutcheon, Sitka, Ark. and Willard Ray Clark Jr., New Albany; six sisters, Gloria J. Howard, Annis M. Froman, Joyce A. Clark and Amy Clark, all of New Albany, Rhonda Lee Wheeler, Cocoa, Fla. and Nada Sagersee, Milltown and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Jean (Waldsmith) McCutcheon.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

Bessie Maxine Fergison
67; of New Washington
Funeral services for Bessie Maxine Fergison, 67, of New Washington, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Grayson Funeral Home, New Washington, with burial in Barnes Cemetery. She died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Hillcrest Health & Rehab Center, Jeffersonville.
She was native of Memphis and a member of the First Baptist Church, New Washington.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie Fergison, Hanover and Robert Fergison, Lexington; two daughters, Lisa Dean, Marysville and Patty Clapp, Nabb; a half brother, Marvin Page, Paducha, Ky.; a half sister, Louanda Gartner, Indianapolis and two grandchildren, Thomas and Shannon Fergison.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 26 and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Angela Jacobs
34; of Charlestown
Funeral services for Angela Jacobs, 34, of Charlestown, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at her home.
She was a member of Sellersburg Moose Lodge and Graceland Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bradley Jacobs; two daughters, Lauren and Kristen Jacobs, Charlestown; her parents, Janie and Joseph Boone, Charlestown; grandparents, Catherine Underwood, Clarksville and Catherine Boone, Louisville; aunts and uncles, Linda and Ed Finch, Clarksville and Brenda and David Allen, Charlestown; nephews, Alex, Brendan and Declan Jacobs; niece, Delaney Jacobs; cousins, Bradley Allen, Paul Finch and Crystal Minton; mother and father-in-law, Marsha and George Jacobs, Jeffersonville and brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Melissa Jacobs, Jeffersonville.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Melissa K. Taylor Crawford and grandfather, Ron Goforth.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 and after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Geraldine Bryant
76; of Muncie
Funeral services for Geraldine Bryant, 76, of Muncie, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, with burial at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. She died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Ball Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was a native of New Albany, born on March 6, 1928 to Andrew and Zelma Klinstiver. In 1969, she received a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University. In 1973 she received a master's degree in Education from Ball State. She was a retired teacher at Redkey Elementary, having retired in 1990 after 21 years of service.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Charles Bryant; two daughters, Peggy Kirby and husband, Frank, Muncie and Marcia Bellomy and husband, Millard Jr., Muncie and two granddaughters, Andrea Kirby and Megan Bellomy, both of Muncie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Andrew Klinstiver Jr.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 26.
John A. Bloat Jr.
76; of Clarksville
Funeral services for John A. Bloat Jr., 76, of Clarksville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, with burial in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park. He died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at his home.
He was a native of New Albany and a retired OTR truck driver for Dealers Transport/Motor Convoy. He was a member of Faith Apostolic Church, Louisville and Teamsters Local 89 of Louisville.
Survivors include three sons, John and wife, Judy, Weatherford, Texas, Larry, (primary caregiver), Clarksville and Michael and wife, Pauline, Worthville, Ky.; a daughter, Sharon, Jeffersonville; three grandchildren, Lori and husband, Joey Blanton, Georgetown, Ginger Bloat, Louisville, Eric Bloat and wife, Jamie, Louisville; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Micah and Joel Blanton, Georgetown and Chaz and Kristen Bloat, Louisville; a brother, Carl H. Bloat, New York and a daughter-in-law, Carl Bloat, Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his living and devoted wife of 56 years, Betty Jean Ayers Bloat.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Funeral services for Russell W. Brown Sr., 81, of Clarksville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. He died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Riverview Village, Clarksville.
He was a former security guard for Moore Security Co., Clarksville.
Survivors include three daughters, Cherie Glaab and Mary L. Brown, Jeffersonville and Carol J. Barton, Otisco; a son, Russell W. Brown Jr., Jeffersonville; a sister, Ruth McGill, Louisville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; former spouse, Geraldine Brown, Jeffersonville and former spouse, Evelyn Moffett, Sonora, Ky.

75; Army veteran
Funeral services for Jerome Charles Schafer, 75, of Sellersburg, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at St. Joe Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joe Cemetery, Sellersburg. He died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004.
He was a retired auto mechanic at Jim O'Neal Ford in Sellersburg and an Army veteran of the
Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 204 color guard, Knights of Columbus, Clark County Democrat Club and St. Joe Catholic Church and Men's Club.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Schafer and wife Susan of Louisville, Joe Schafer and wife, Cindy of Frankfort, Ky. and Jerome "Chip" Schafer Jr. and wife Kristie of Borden; a daughter, Sharon W. Howlett and husband Wayne of Sellersburg; two brothers, Carroll and Clifford Schafer of Charlestown; a sister, Kathleen Lentz, Jeffersonville; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jacob, Wesley Schafer and Chris and Bradley Howlett; and a special friend, Tillie Fink.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Schafer.

Funeral services for Luther Thomas "Banjo" Taylor, 41, of Underwood, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, R.D. Pyke Funeral Service, Henryville, with burial at Willey's Chapel Cemetery, Borden. He died on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004.
He was a self-employed carpet layer.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce Taylor Linne; a brother, Philip A. Linne, Henryville; four sisters, Ellen A. Smith, Henryville, Alice I. McKinstry, Louisville and Marlene K. Shuping and Debbie J. Linne, Underwood.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas N. Taylor and stepfather, Elmer Linne.
