Eulas "Whitey" White
66; formerly of New Albany
Eulas "Whitey" White, 66, of Athens, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, in Bryan, Texas.
He was born July 26, 1938 in Golden Pond, Ky., to the late Jess Willard and Etta Marie Hooks White. He grew up in New Albany, but had resided in Athens since 1974. He was owner and operator of several Convenience Stores in Athens over the years. He loved his many old cars, radios and toy pistols he was able to collect over the years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was loved by everyone that knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon White; sons, Michael White, Chad White, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Christopher White, Carrollton; daughters, Meg Baxley, Huntsville, Ala., Lisa White Kinder, Quinlin; a brother, Michael White, New Bedford, Ma.; a sister, Carolyn Ehalt, Florida; and grandchildren, Andrea Lawrence and Hanna Baxley, both of Birmingham, Ala.
No formal service is scheduled. Arrangements are with Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens, Texas.
Naomi E. Fisher Armstrong
93; Jeffersonville native
Funeral services for Naomi E. Fisher Armstrong, 93, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Scott Funeral Home's, North Chapel, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Westminster Healthcare Center, Clarksville.
She was a native of Jeffersonville and a retired personnel office worker for the U.S. Corps of Engineers.
Survivors include a son, Dr. John C. Armstrong, Edinboro, Penn.; a daughter, Betty Ann Neighbors, Harrodsburg, Ky.; two grandsons, Brent Armstrong, Canton, Ohio and Lt. Kyle Armstrong, U.S.C.G., Atlantic City, N.J.; three granddaughters, Shayne Martin, Lawrenceburg, Ky., Tara Prather, Lexington and Denise Brannon, Heathrow, Fla. and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, John E. Fischer; mother, Anna Arnold Fisher and husband, Aaron A. Armstrong.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Geraldine King
70; of Borden
A memorial services for Geraldine King, 70, of Borden, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Scott Funeral Home's, North Chapel, with graveside services Monday, Dec. 20, at Hatcher Cemetery, Freeport, Fla. She died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Lincoln Hills Health Center, New Albany.
She has been employed as a waitress and hostess at various locations and was a member of Borden Community Church and the Borden Lions Club.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond King; a daughter, Mary Lynn, Borden; four sons, Charles R. King, Freeport, Fla., Leonard King, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Kenneth King, DeFuniak, Fla. and Stephen King, Freeport, Fla. and three sisters, Althea Tullis and Earlene Gavins, Freeport, Fla. and Montez Carter, Bruce, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Ward and Mary Elizabeth Ward and three brothers, Willis, L.C. and Jesse Monroe Ward.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 2 p.m. Friday.
The body was cremated.

Juanita Jane Samples
68; of Sellersburg
Funeral services for Juanita Jane Samples, 68, of Sellersburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sellersburg, with burial in St. Joe Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Dec. 15. 2004, at her home.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and retired from the West Clark School System.
Survivors include four sons, Robin, Dale and Allen Samples, Sellersburg and Perry Samples, New Albany; her mother, Lillian Stewart, Scottsburg and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Samples.
Visitation at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17.

Arthur A. "June" Bierman Jr.
75; Floyds Knobs native
A funeral Mass for Arthur A. "June" Bierman Jr., 75, of Floyds Knobs, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. He died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital in New Albany.
He was born in Floyds Knobs on Dec. 24, 1928, the son of the late Arthur A. Bierman Sr. and Lillian (Banet) Bierman. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the
Korean War. He received a bachelor of science degree from Purdue University and was retired from General Electric Company in Louisville. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hobart Beach Post 1693 in New Albany, the American Legion River City Post 42 in Floyds Knobs and a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Julia C. (Beach) Bierman; two daughters, Carol J. McLean and husband, Howard and Annette M. Lipps and husband, Artie, both of New Albany; two sons, Gregory A. Bierman, D.D.S., Mooresville, Ind. and Gary J. Bierman Sr. and wife, Barbara, Floyds Knobs; three brothers, Merrel, Lewis and Frank Bierman Sr.; a sister, Patsy Egler; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Marcellus Bierman.
Visitation at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, and a prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16.
Wilma Hanover
44; employee of Community Bank
Funeral services for Wilma Hanover, 44, of New Albany, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Scottsville Christian Church in Floyds Knobs. She died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at her home.
She was a file room supervisor at Community Bank and was formerly employed at Stock Yards Bank. She was a member of Scottsville Christian Church.
Survivors include her son, Bobby Alcorn, New Albany; a daughter, Misti Hanover, New Albany; her mother, Eva Jean Grimes, New Albany; a brother, Steven Hanover, Floyds Knobs; and three sisters, Sherry Zeitz, Louisville, Chris Bowers, Mississippi, and Robin Wright, Jeffersonville.
Visitation at the church will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18. Arrangements are being handled by the Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes.

Curtis "Tommy" Huntington
70; U.S. Navy veteran
Funeral services for Curtis "Tommy" Huntington, 70, of New Albany, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004.
He was born July 11, 1934 in Covington, Ky. He retired from BF Goodrich and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Hobart Beach VFW Post 1693 and the Bonnie Sloan American Legion Post 28.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Mary Lou Bailey; a daughter, Brenda K. Frossard; a son, Larry T. Huntington; a sister, Sylvia Trowbridge; a brother; Lowell Huntington; and three grandchildren, Todd, Andy and Matt Frossard.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 15.
William O. Martin
89; former director of Jackson Township Farm Bureau
Funeral services for William O. Martin, 89, of Georgetown, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery, Crandall. He died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 15 and after 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16.
Walter Earl Reed Jr.
80; retired bookkeeper
A funeral Mass for Walter Earl Reed Jr., 80, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road, Louisville, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. He died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Norton Hospital.
He was born on April 16, 1924, in Tell City, Ind. and moved to Louisville at a young age.
He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1942, and was called into service with the U.S. Army during World War II, having served in the headquarters special troops 11th Airborne Division for 22 months in New Guinea, the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan. He received the purple heart and was honorably discharged on Jan. 12, 1946. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Dayton.
He was the retired owner and operator of Louisville Bookkeeping and Tax Service. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and St. Xavier High School Tiger Booster Club.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Margaret Fante; a daughter, Carol McIntyre and husband, John; two sons, W. Earl Reed III and wife, Bridgett and Eric Reed and wife, Andrea J.; and five grandchildren, Katie, Kevin and Maggie McIntyre and Annie and Wally Reed.
He was preceded in death by his father, W. Earl Reed Sr.; mother, Gertrude Montgomery Reed; and brother, Robert Reed.
Visitation at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison Avenue at Barret, Louisville, will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 15.
