Rosalee Goodwin

RICHLAND CITY - Rosalee T. Goodwin, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at her home of cancer. Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Coomes of Hatfield, Penny Naegele of Richland City and Peggy Sue Goodwin of Eureka; a son, Robert of Grandview; six sisters, Lillian Reisz, Mary Smith and Revalee Davis, all of Rockport, Nila Smith of Newtonville, and Emma Rose Wildt and Veneta Laphart, both of Boonville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Robert, died in 1978.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with burial in James Parker Cemetery in Hatfield.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to VistaCare hospice.

Larry Reeve

VINCENNES - Larry D. Reeve, 66, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Crestview Nursing Home of cancer.

He was a custodian for Vincennes University.

He was an Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edwardsport, 40 et 8, American Legion, Bicknell's French Club, Eagles and Moose.

Surviving are his companion, Violet Roach; and his caregiver, Susie Deckard.

Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with burial in Edwardsport Town Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Virginia Evans
Virginia (Klassy) Evans, 77, of Gig Harbor, Wash., formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at her home of cancer.

She was a 1942 graduate of Bosse High School.

Surviving are three daughters, Klassy Evans of Bellevue, Wash., Jeanne Marie Evans of Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Julie Jarosz of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Roger N. Klassy of Evansville; a granddaughter, Danielle Stouter; and nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements were in Gig Harbor, handled by Woodlawn Abbey Crematory in Puyallup, Wash.

Shirley Cohoon

Shirley R. Cohoon, 93, of Ballwin, Mo., formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.

He was founder and president of Cohoon Food Brokers, and former president of Allied Food Club and the St. Louis area Food Association.

He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Moolah Temple Shrine and Royal Order of Jesters.

Surviving is his niece, Janet C. Robertson. His wife, Dorothy (Flanagan), preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at the Sanctuary of Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church in St. Louis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or a favorite charity.

Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood, Mo., is handling arrangements.

Dorothy Barnett

Dorothy "Dot" Barnett, 87, of Decatur, Ill., formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home of cancer.

She was a 1937 graduate of Deaconess School of Nursing and a former member of Methodist Temple in Evansville.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan Jane Barnett of Decatur; a sister, Billie Ellis of St. Augustine, Fla.; nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Nina Sips. Her husband, Ralph, died in 1996.

There will be no service or visitation at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville.

John Werst Jr.

John J. Werst Jr., 83, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.

He was president of Plumber Supply Co. and had been mayor of Indian Hills.

He was a graduate of Purdue University, past president of the Louisville Boat Club and Harmony Landing Country Club, former member of the board of Southern Wholesalers Association and the vestry of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and was a member of Pendennis Club and St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie (Schnake); two daughters, Linda Madison and Sarah Rappoport; a son, John J. III; and six grandchildren, Kim and Hannah Werst, Page M. Johnson, J. Paxton Madison and Rivka and Isaac Rappoport.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church in Louisville. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church. Pearson Funeral Home in Louisville is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kentucky Humane Society or St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church scholarship fund.

Sherrill Barnes

Sherrill Wrayborne Barnes, 70, of Evansville, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, while hunting in Christian County, Ky. The Christian County coroner is determining the cause of death.

He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a Kentucky Colonel.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Wells; a daughter, Libby Burress of Evansville; a son, Jeffry of Evansville; three sisters, Marie Ricks of Crofton, Ky., Helen Durham of Greenville, Ky., and Elsie Phipps of Hopkinsville, Ky.; two brothers, Max of Crofton and Roger of Madison, Ala.; and four grandchildren, Maggie and Hannah Barnes and Olivia and Kenneth Burress.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Crofton, Ky., with burial in Cave Spring Cemetery in Greenville, Ky.

Norma Browder

Norma E. Browder, 68, of Evansville, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at her home of heart failure.

She retired in 1995 as a pharmacy technician at Deaconess Hospital.

She was a member of the Salvation Army Church and assisted college students with the Norma E. Browder Scholarship Award.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, David Sr.; three daughters, Elizabeth, Nee and Debbie Browder, all of Evansville; three sons, David Jr., Robert and William "Joe," all of Evansville; a sister, Ruth McIntosh of Evansville; and eight grandchildren, Kristine, Tiffany, Abigail and Robby Browder, Michael, Mandy and R.J. Greubel and Mel Smith.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, the Rev. Steven Claspell officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Living Waters Hospice Care.

Brenda Douglas

Brenda Chevelle Douglas, 37, of Evansville, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in Evansville. She was a homicide victim.

Surviving are her son, Levron Williams of Bloomington, Ind.; her parents, James and Shirley Owsley of Evansville; five sisters, Gail and Leonilla Williams and Karen Ragland, all of Evansville, Tamara Simmons and Connie Marshall, both of Louisville, Ky.; four brothers, John Wayne Douglas of San Diego and Tyron Douglas and Kirk Anthony and David A. Williams, all of Evansville; her grandmother, Frances Bibbs; grandchildren, Kyron and Beyonce Williams; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be private, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Osborne Funeral Home.

Ramona Riddle

Ramona M. Riddle, 64, of Evansville, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at her home of cancer.

She enjoyed eating out in the Evansville area.

Surviving are her daughter, Teresa Diefenbach of Evansville; two brothers, Albert L. and Howard R. Fairchild, both of Evansville; three grandchildren, Crystal, Charles and Matthew Diefenbach; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband of 40 years, Archie Harold, died in 1993.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Rev. John Breidenbach officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a memorial service at 8 p.m., at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, give to a Mass in her memory.
