Sharon Menier

CORUNNA - Sharon Menier, 52, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 2:30 a.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital, Auburn.

She was a bank official at Wells Fargo Bank in Auburn for 28 years. She was a member of New Hope Christian Center in Waterloo, Auburn Moose Lodge, Butler Eagles Lodge and Northeastern CB Club.

She was born July 14, 1948, in Auburn to Sherman Edward and Marie (Fike) Crossley. Her mother survives at Story Lake, Corunna, and her father preceded her in death in 1968.

Surviving her are one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Belinda Menier of Kendallville; and three grandchildren, Lakin, Tisha and Gabrielle Menier.

A brother, Larry Earl Crossley, preceded her in death.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in New Hope Christian Center, Waterloo, with the Rev. Ernie Kohlmyer officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, rural Corunna.

Calling is Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo.

Memorials are to the family.

Phyllis Hazelton

FORT WAYNE - Phyllis Joy Imbody Hazelton, 55, a lifetime resident of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, Dec. 3, in her home.

She was born Aug. 12, 1945, in Fort Wayne. On June 20, 1965, she married Al Hazelton, who survives.

After 22 years as a teacher's assistant at Forest Park Elementary School in Fort Wayne, she retired Feb. 28. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge, Forest Park Elementary P.T.A. and R.I.P.E.A.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Paula June Carter of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Kaleb and Megan Carter; five sisters, Dorathe Waggoner, Margaret Oelschlager and Elizabeth Tanner, all of Fort Wayne, Jenine Ray of Greenwood, and Clara Griner of Warsaw; three brothers, Louis Imbody of Orange Park, Fla., and Charles and Douglas Imbody, both of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two children, Dawn in 1966 and Virgil in 1970.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Wayne. Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Allen County Heart Association, the American Diabetes. Association or to the family.

Cotta Cook

FORT WAYNE - Cotta Arlene (Baker) Cook, 80, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Cook was born Feb. 10, 1920, in Kendallville to Ray N. and Perl (Fike) Baker. On June 14, 1940, in Indiana, she married Maynard Cook, who preceded her in death in 1993.

Mrs. Cook, who was known as "Cookie," taught chorus line dancing at the Fort Wayne YMCA and performed with the "Highsteppers" for area nursing homes. She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary in Kendallville and was a former member of the Allen County Chorus, Sweet Adelines and Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Thomas Cross of Crossville, Tenn.; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by an infant son in 1953 and by a daughter, Janice, in 1997.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with calling there from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Burial will be in Sweet Cemetery, Albion.

Memorials are to the Cancer Society of Allen County, Parkview Home Health Care & Hospice and Crescent Avenue United Methodist Church.

Frances Taylor

KENDALLVILLE - Frances I. Taylor, 67, of Kendallville, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at 4 a.m. in Kendallville Manor HealthCare following a one-week illness.

She was born in Warsaw Dec. 15, 1932, to Aaron and Helen (Lutz) Osbun. On Jan. 20, 1975, in Georgia, she married James Taylor. He survives.

Mrs. Taylor moved to Kendallville two years ago from Arizona. She was a homemaker.

Also surviving are five daughters, Diane Whitehurst of Locust Grove, Ga., Carol Hester of San Jose, Calif., and Sue Tagi, Terry Taylor and Cheryl Graham, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sons, Steve Taylor of Tucson, Aaron Graham of Kendallville, and Steve Graham and Michael Taylor, both of Phoenix; two sisters, Elinor Kidwell and Joyce Bosley, both of Phoenix; two brothers, Maynard Osbun of Leesburg, and Jessie Osbun of Mesa, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Services and burial will be in Greenwood-Memorial Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery, Phoenix.

Memorials are to the donor's choice.

Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home, Kendallville, is in charge of local arrangements.

Mari Collins

FREMONT - Mari L. Collins, 43, of Fremont, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in Fremont.

Ms. Collins was a teacher at McKinney Harrison Elementary School in Auburn and was employed at Gettig Pharmaceutical Instrument Co., Angola.

She was a 1998 graduate of Taylor University, Fort Wayne, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She was a member of the Nevada Mills United Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher there. She was active in many church organizations.

She was born Oct. 27, 1956, in Angola to Morris and Edwina (Fair) Collins, who survive in Fremont, along with three brothers and a sister-in-law, Barton and Brett Collins and Todd and Sharriddee Collins, all of Fremont.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Nevada Mills United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Duane Stidham officiating. Calling will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont.

Burial will be in Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont. Memorials are to the church or the Steuben County Cancer Society.

Harold 'Art' Crozier

FORT WAYNE - Harold "Art" Crozier, 81, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Parkview Hospital.

He was born in Craigville. He retired as a salesman from McConnell & Son after 15 years.

Surviving are his wife, Clara M.; three daughters, Julie Elwood of Albion, Kay Ott of Huntington and Rebecca Brown of Portage, Mich.; a sister, Naomi Yocum of Willshire, Ohio; a stepsister, Wanetta West of Bluffton; three stepbrothers, Lester Crozier of California, Vernon Crozier of Rome City and Jay Lee Crozier of Ossian; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens.

Calling is at the funeral home one hour before services.

Memorials are to Christ Church, Georgetown.

John Halsey

SYRACUSE - John E. Halsey, 60, died at 5 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001, at Goshen General Hospital.

He had lived in Syracuse since 1984, coming from Noble County. He most recently served as general manager at Burnworth-Zollars Chevrolet, working in the business for 40 years. He was a member of the Syracuse and Albion Eagles, and Maxwelton Golf Club, and on the board of the Men's Bowling Association of Syracuse.

He was born June 5, 1940, in Syracuse to Ralleigh and Mary (Simon) Halsey. His father survives in Kimmell. His mother preceded him in death. On Dec. 31, 1984, he married Peggy Firestone-Smith, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey Halsey of Whitefish, Mont., and Tomas Halsey of Helena, Mont.; a stepdaughter, Darcey Yoder of Goshen; a stepson, Derek Smith of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Mike Halsey of Kimmell; three sisters, Lois Osbun of Kendallville, Theresa Hughes of Fort Wayne and Joyce Castro of Milford; and five granddaughters.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Eastlund Funeral Home Harris Chapel, Syracuse, with the Rev. Brad Whitehead officiating. Burial will be at Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are to Goshen Cancer Treatment Center.

Jean Faulkner

CORUNNA - Jean E. Faulkner, 71, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at 2:25 p.m. in McCray Memorial Hospital at Kendallville.

Mrs. Faulkner had been employed at the former Kroger Store in Auburn. She lived in Corunna and was a member of the Corunna Community Church.

She was born July 12, 1928, in Avilla to Jay and Violet (Wheeler) Hollinger. Her mother survives in Waterloo and her father preceded her in death.

She married Jack Faulkner on Aug. 28, 1948. He died Oct. 15, 1974.

Surviving her are one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Deb Faulkner of Corunna; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Pyck of Auburn; one sister, Carol Lung of Butler; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Ryan and Tyler Pyck, and Jacklyn, Brandi, Charity, and Amanda Faulkner; and two great-grandchildren, McKayla Faulkner and Jackson Hontz.

One son, Kevin, preceded her in death.

Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, with the Rev. Richard Pickard officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.

Calling is Saturday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorials are to Corunna Community Church.
