Ronald Teegardin
ANGOLA - Ronald Dean Teegardin, 72, of Angola, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 16, 2000, at Lakeland Nursing Center.
Mr. Teegardin was a lifetime Angola resident and worked in the automotive industry as a set-up man until his retirement in January 1990. He was a member of the UAW union.
He was born April 5, 1928, in Hamilton to Russel and Carrie (Burkhart) Teegardin.
He married Doris (Seeman) Teegardin on Aug. 22, 1947, in Angola, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda and Randy Emerick of Angola and Nancy Eicher of Battle Creek, Mich., a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tammy Teegardin of Three Rivers, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Teegardin Cemetery. The Rev. Eric Stoops of the Hamilton United Methodist Church will officiate.
There will be no calling.
Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Hamilton Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are to P.S.P. (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) or a charity of the donor's choice.
Walter Walzer
HUDSON - Walter J. Walzer, 81, of Hudson, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, in his home.
He was born April 13, 1919, in Kentland to James and Mary (Geise) Walzer. On Oct. 14, 1944, he married Victoria Romaneck. She survives.
Mr. Walzer, a graduate of South Side High School, retired from Zollner Piston Corp. when he was 62. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church at Big Long Lake.
Also surviving are two sons, Jack Walzer of Westport, Calif., and James Walzer of Fort Bragg, Calif.; a brother, Frank Walzer of Bluffton; two sisters, Helen O'Brien of Orange, Calif., and Barbara Pelon of Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Tatiana Walzer and Gustav Walzer, both of Westport, and Katherine Walzer of Fort Bragg.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Conrad Schweibold officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville.
Memorials are to Parkview Noble Hospice or Masses to St. Mary's of the Angels Catholic Church.
James Warstler
MESA, Ariz. - James F. Warstler, 67, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at 8 p.m. in Mesa, Ariz., after a 5 1/2-year battle with cancer. He was a former Butler resident.
Mr. Warstler was born Oct. 25, 1932. He married his first wife, Kathleen M. Fogle, on June 25, 1950, and she died March 3, 1996. He married his second wife, Carol, in March 1998 and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Debbie Miller of Butler, Sandy Miller of Spencerville and Pam Mason of Auburn; a son, Randy Warstler of Waterloo; and eight grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Amanda Price, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in Christ Church in Butler, with calling after 6 p.m.
Memorials are to Neely Hospice on Elliot Street, Gilbert, Ariz.
Richard Randol
LAGRANGE - Richard G. Randol, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 3, at 6:05 a.m. at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
A retired farmer, Mr. Randol was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Stroh to William and Dessia (Wolfe) Randol. He lived all his life in Steuben and LaGrange counties and was a member of LaGrange County Farm Bureau.
On March 18, 1939, he married Della Varner in Angola. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Richard D. Randol of LaGrange; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Marilyn and Gene Yoder, Janice Randol and Lois Randol, all of LaGrange, and Bonnie and Douglas Trovinger of Auburn; one brother, John Randol of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with the Rev. Carldean Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow at Brushy Chapel Cemetery, LaGrange.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are to the donor's choice.
Dennis Bieber
WOLCOTTVILLE - Dennis R. Bieber, 50, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was a porter for Sears for 30 years.
Surviving are three sisters, Patricia Bieber of Wolcottville, Sharon Ringer of Fort Wayne and Anne Webb of Paulding, Ohio; and a brother, Larry Bieber of Sebastopol, Calif.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, with vigil services at 7:30 p.m.
Burial is in Covington Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are to St. Joseph Hospital Burn Unit.
Virginia Summers
GARRETT - Virginia M. Summers, 86, died Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 9:50 a.m. in Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Summers worked in assembly at Rieke Corp. in Auburn for 35 years, retiring in 1975. She lived on South Cowen Street in Garrett.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett, its rosary society and Daughters of Isabella, and the Garrett Historical Society.
She was born May 11, 1915, in Garrett to Warren and Bessie (Comadoll) Royer.
She married Frank H. Summers on June 26, 1940, in Garrett. He died April 2, 1978.
Surviving her are one daughter, Patricia Bender of Albion; one son, Michael L. Summers of Avilla; two brothers, Maurice Royer of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Donald Royer of Willard, Ohio; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Thom Lombardi officiating. Burial will be in Christian Union Cemetery
in rural Garrett.
Calling is Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, Garrett.
Memorials are to masses.
Robert Yurk
AUBURN - Robert A. Yurk, 33, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at 3 a.m. in his home on Ensley Avenue.
Mr. Yurk was an electrician with Global Electric Co. of Auburn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of the Auburn post of the American Legion and Auburn Moose Lodge.
He was born June 3, 1967, in Chicago to Allen and Judy (Burzynski) Yurk. His mother survives in Glendale, Ariz., and his father is deceased.
He married Joyce Cooper on Dec. 2, 1997, in Auburn, and she survives.
Also surviving him are two stepdaughters, Michelle Cain and Kristin Cain, both of Auburn; two brothers, Tom Yurk and Wayne Yurk, both of Glendale, Ariz.; one sister, Patty Fallquist of Glendale, Ariz.; and three stepgrandchildren, Tiarra Hinkle, and Hannah and Malory Cain.
Memorial services were held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the family home at 1302 W. Ensley Ave., Auburn.
Memorials are to the family, in care of Joyce Yurk.
Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, was in charge of arrangements.
Frederick Stevenson
NEW HAVEN - Frederick L. Stevenson, 85, died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at home.
The LaGrange native was a forklift operator at Wickes Lumber for 30 years.
Surviving are a son, Frederick J. Stevenson Jr. of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Katherine Dierkes of Ocklawakha, Fla., and Sally Beason of Tucson, Ariz.; two stepsons; five stepdaughters; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Doris D. Stevenson, in 1987, and his second wife, Myrtle D. Stevenson, in 1998.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Entombment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery.
Calling is 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are to Moeller Road Wesleyan Church.
