Robert C. Eiting
Robert C. Eiting, 87, Fort Wayne, died at 3:40 a.m. Friday (Feb. 11, 2000) in Fort Wayne.
Mr. Eiting was the owner of Eiting Implement Sales, Decatur. As a sergeant in the Army with the 129th 6th Armored Division, he served in World War II in the European Theater. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur, and was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 864 and held a Fourth Degree in its Msgr. Seimetz Assembly.
He was born in Adams County on Dec. 3, 1912, to Benjamin H. and Elizabeth T. Miller Eiting. In Fort Wayne, he married Mary R. Hessian. Mrs. Eiting survives.
Other survivors include a son, James B. Eiting, Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Bernadine M.) Boice, Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Nephews survive in Huntington.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers, and four sisters.
Calling will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, 225 W. Adams St., Decatur, where the Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The Fourth Degree Post and Honor Guard will be given from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home will precede the 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur. Father Philip DeVolder will officiate at the service.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur. Graveside rites will be performed by American Legion Post 43, Decatur.
Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Catholic School, Decatur; or the American Lung Association.
Lloyd Hall
Lloyd Hall, 66, 546 Court St., died at 4:42 p.m. Friday (Feb. 11, 2000) at his home.
Mr. Hall was a production worker at Bircraft Inc., Huntington. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, stationed in Japan and Korea.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1933, in Floyd County, Ky., to Charles and Lena Hall Hall. On Dec. 13, 1976, in Clintwood, Va., he married Faye B. Covey. Mrs. Hall survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Tammy) Phillips, Louisville, Ky.; one son, Michael E. Hall, Dayton, Ky.; five grandchildren; two sisters, Liza Mitchell, Drift, Ky., and Violet Hayes, Langley, Ky.; and two brothers, Charles Tackett, Bypro, Ky., and Sherman Tackett, Drift, Ky.
Calling will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. Bill Warax will officiate at the services.
Burial will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2689.

Celestine C. ‘Celeste’ Sickafoose
Celestine C. “Celeste” Sickafoose, 82, Fort Wayne, died Sunday (Feb. 13, 2000) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana.
Mrs. Sickafoose was a nurse’s aide and unit clerk with Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. She retired in 1979. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, where she a member of the Rosary Society, served as a Eucharistic minister and founded the prayer line.
She was born May 18, 1917, in Columbia City to Al J. Baker and Mary Nix Baker. She married Walter R. Sickafoose, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Survivors include a son, Brian A. Sickafoose, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Darlene M. Blaising, Fort Wayne; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Sickafoose; and a daughter, Sharon Ann Fisher.
Calling is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, with a vigil service at 4:30 p.m., at D. O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with calling one hour prior to services, at St. Jude Catholic Church, East State Boulevard and Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne. Father William C. Schooler will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Catherine Cemetery, Nix Settlement, Whitley County.
Preferred memorials are to St. Jude Catholic Church and School or Visiting Nurse Service’s Hospice Home.
Patricia A. ‘Pat’ Weeks
Patricia Ann “Pat” Weeks, 73, 4936N-825W, Andrews, died at 5:05 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 12, 2000) at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Weeks was a homemaker and a member of the Huntington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was an honorary member of the Izaak Walton League.
She was born June 8, 1926, in Huntington County to Christian Hofmann and Marion Plasterer Hofmann. She married Russell E. Weeks Nov. 22, 1945, in Huntington. Her husband died March 9, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Randall T. Weeks, Columbia City, and Roger W. Weeks, Huntington; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Debra) Gerber, Roanoke, and Mrs. James (Wanda) Angstrom, Andrews; two brothers, Henry Hofmann, Phoenix, and Robert Hofmann, Huntington; and a sister, Mrs. Harry (June) Wendt, Holland, Mich.; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death two brothers, Paul Hofmann and Richard Hofmann.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Robert Noble will officiate.
Burial will be at the Plasterer Feighner Cemetery.

Barbara R. Beemer
Barbara Rae Beemer, 67, 706 Clark St., died at 4:45 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 10, 2000) at her home.
Mrs. Beemer was a homemaker and the former owner of the Johnson Flower Shop in Huntington. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was an active volunteer at the church and for Right to Life and The Open Door.
She was born April 2, 1932, in San Francisco to Jack Metz and Edna Mae Wood Metz. She married Gene Edwin Beemer Nov. 25, 1949. Her husband survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Richard G. Beemer, Joseph B. Beemer, Patrick M. Beemer and Daniel E. Beemer, all of Huntington, and James R. Beemer, Fort Wayne; three daughters, Jennifer L. Beemer, Rebecca Marie Hosier and Barbara E. Winters, all of Huntington; and 17 grandchildren.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, with recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m., at the Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry St., with Father Ron Rieder officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Patricia Ann Roebuck
Patricia Ann Roebuck, 71, died Feb. 4, 2000, at her Dublin, Calif., home.
She was born June 17, 1928, in Huntington to Paul F. Kilty and Catherine Francis Friedman Kilty. She married Harry O. Roebuck Jr., who preceded her in death June 2, 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Forsyth, Rick Forsyth and Mike Roebuck; six sisters, Bernie Schomburg, Gert Beemler, Ruth West, Angie Schreck, Rosemary Atwell and Shirley Griffith; two brothers, Gus Kilty and Harold Kilty; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Mrs. Roebuck’s Dublin home for immediate family members on Feb. 7.

Margaret E. ‘Peg’ Bailey
Margaret E. "Peg" Bailey, 81, 820 Flaxmill Rd., died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 9, 2000) at her home.
Mrs. Bailey and her husband Carl owned the Bailey Mortuary from 1940-83. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, serving as past president, and an honorary member of the Froebel Club. She was a former board member of the YMCA, serving on the House Committee.
She was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Kosciusko County to Lee L. Crill and Mary Henry Crill. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1937. She married Carl R. Bailey on Feb. 17, 1940 in Indianapolis. He died Sept. 29, 1994.
Survivors include a son, David A. Bailey, Huntington; a daughter, Mrs. Vance (Debbie) Lopp, Syracuse; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A sister, Marie Mason, preceded her in death.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Steven N. Ailes will officiate.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
