Paul Douglas Strouse
Paul Douglas Strouse, 57, Whitestown, died in New Boston, Texas, on Aug. 1, 2000.
Strouse was born on July 24, 1943 in Indianapolis to Paul Eldin and Elva Sourbaugh Strouse, both former residents of Huntington.
He was a truck driver for Zipp Express Co. after working at Ivy Tech in Kokomo as a financial advisor. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge No. 398 for 25 years. He was also a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Indianapolis.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Mullen Strouse; a son, Scott G. Stabler, Kokomo; a daughter, Nancy Chuck, Whitestown; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Conkle Funeral Home,Speedway with funeral services to follow.
Burial is at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Speedway.
Cecil Williams
Cecil Williams, 90, Main St., Andrews, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 10, 2000) at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Williams had been employed with Wilbert Vaults in Uniondale and Fort Wayne for 20 years and had also worked at the Marlow Coal Company in Defiance, Ky., for 25 years. He was a member of the Bethesda Freewill Baptist Church in Andrews.
He was born Feb. 28, 1910, in Perry County, Ky., to Adam and Laura Cornett Williams. He married the former Lonia Combs on March 16, 1929, in Hazard, Ky. She died on March 17, 1977.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Williams, Goblesville, Don Williams, Fort Wayne, and Larry Williams, Huntington; five daughters, Mrs. Miles (Versia) McClellan and Mrs. Jay (Shelby) Shockome, both of Andrews, Florsie Krieg and Mrs. DuWayne (Shirley Ann) Haines, both of Huntington, and Joeanna Long, White Pigeon, Mich.; 43 grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Lee Jones; two sons, Nelson Williams and James Clayton Williams; four brothers and a sister.
Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Rolla Blair officiating.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.

Charles P. De Santo
Charles P. De Santo, 76, Fort Wayne, died Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2000) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. De Santo was an ordained Presbyterian minister and a retired professor of sociology from Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, Pa. He had also taught at Taylor College and Huntington College. He wrote guest editorials for the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel and was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church.
He was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Philadelphia to Michael and Jennie Corrado De Santo.
Survivors include his wife, Norma A. De Santo; two daughters, Deborah A. De Santo of Churubusco and Susan D. Prendergast of Huntingdon, Pa.; two sons, Stephen C. De Santo and Timothy M. De Santo, both of Fort Wayne; six brothers, James De Santo, Michael De Santo, Thomas De Santo, Antonio De Santo, Louis De Santo and John De Santo; a sister, Rita Pollard; and seven grandchildren.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the D. O. McComb & Sons, Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 6017 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the North Leo Mennonite Church, Ind.-1, Leo.
Preferred memorials are to the National Parkinson’s Foundation or the World Vision Fund.
Violet L. Hey
Violet L. Hey, 88, Fort Wayne, died at 1:50 p.m. Monday (Aug. 7, 2000) at the Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Hey was a homemaker and a former resident of Columbia City and of Willshire, Ohio. She was a member of the Zion Church of the United Brethren in Christ in Willshire and the church’s Women’s Missionary Association.
She was born Sept. 25, 1911, in Paulding County, Ohio, a daughter of John C. Lee and Maude E. Offill Lee. She married Russell H. Hey Oct. 16, 1934; he died May 9, 1983.
Surviving are five sons, Boyd L. Hey of Shippensburg, Pa., Gary L. Hey of Ossian, Michael K. Hey of Auburn, David L. Hey of Fort Wayne, and Gregory L. Hey of Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Sandra) Landrum of Vero beach, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Foley and Ethel Edwards, and a brother, Gerald Lee.
Calling is from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Haggard and Sefton Funeral Home, 225 W. Adams St., Decatur, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Rev. John Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be at Greenbrier Cemetery, Glenmore, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Church of the United Brethren in Christ, Willshire, Ohio, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Jean A. Lau
Jean A. Lau, 66, 626 E. Fifth St., Warren, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2000) at her home.
Mrs. Lau was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Pyle Industries in Huntington. She was a 1951 graduate of Warren High School.
She was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Huntington, a daughter of L. Eldon Smith and Bertine Sloan Smith.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Sprowl, Fort Wayne; a son, William C. Lau, Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Nelson (Marilyn) Bell, Mt. Etna, and Lorita Langdon, Ohio; a brother, George Smith, Hot Springs, Ark.; and three grandchildren.
Calling is 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Al Soultz will officiate.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Daugh Sizemore
Daugh Sizemore, 45, 1467 S. Jefferson St., died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 9, 2000) at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Sizemore was employed by United Technologies in Huntington. He had been a former resident of Owenton, Ky., moving to Huntington in 1988.
He was born March 18, 1955, in Manchester, Ky., to Myrtle Downey Sizemore. He married Marilyn K. Anderson on Oct. 7, 1987, in Owenton, Ky. She survives.
He is also survived by a stepson, Jason Little, Huntington.
Calling will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Friday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Rev. Raymond Waldfogel will officiate.
Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery, Mt. Etna.

J. Wilbur Jennings
J. Wilbur Jennings, 87, died at 7 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 5, 2000) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren.
Mr. Jennings was a retired farmer and had also been involved in furniture reconstruction and refinishing for many years. He was a member of the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne. He was a Past Master of the Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge and was a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star.
He was born Sept. 21, 1912, in Wabash County to Thomas and Dora Sanderson Jennings. He lived most of his life in Huntington County. He married Jeanne Archibold, who died Sept. 15, 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Danny (Barbara) Price of LaFontaine and Donna Case of Fishers; a sister, Berniece Wiley of Warren; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Needham-Storey Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with Chaplain John Bellante officiating.
Burial was at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Skyler D. Bragg
Skyler Douglas Bragg, 3 months, 611 Mayne St., died Sunday morning (Aug. 6, 2000) at his home.
He was born April 17, 2000, in Huntington, a son of Douglas E. and Carolyn M. Young Bragg. His parents survive.
Additional survivors include a sister, Erika M. Bragg, at home; his grandparents, Doug and Pam Bragg, Huntington, Vicki Bragg of Portland, and Barbara Spencer of Huntington; and his great-grandparents, Roy Motter of Portland, Ines Motter of Portland, and Joseph and Marie Ingram of Ellenton, Fla.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, with Gerald O. Moreland officiating.
Burial will be at Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, Ind.
