Zella Deom
TELL CITY - Zella L. (Birkla) East Deom, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home.
She had been a nurse's assistant at Perry County Memorial Hospital and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Robert Earl East of Santa Claus; two grandsons, Thomas J. and Danny L. East; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Earl East, in 1964, and Cletus Deom, in 1987.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial in Jefferies Cemetery
in Oriole.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel.

Armitta Jeffries
BOON-VILLE - Armitta Jeffries, 77, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital of heart fail- ure. She was a member of Bullocktown's Full Gospel Pentecostal Church and sang and played piano at area Pentecostal churches.
Surviving are four sons, Billy, Eddie and Steve, all of Boonville, and Mark of Evansville; a sister, Leona Sharp of Boonville; a brother, Harold "Red" Scott of Boonville; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; niece and nephews; and Christy Jeffries, who cared for her. Her husband, William, died in 1996.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Irvin Hanebutt
HUNTINGBURG - Irvin "Spike" Hanebutt, 83, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville of pneu- monia.
He retired from Hanebutt & Son Plastering and Drywall.
He was a life member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Dubois County Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club, where he was transportation chairman and took children to the Shrine Circus for 25 years. He was a member of American Legion, Dubois County Roadsters and Hadi Shrine Temple.
Surviving are a daughter, Daphne Cochren of Oakland City; a son, Gerald of Huntingburg; two sisters, Mabel Grable of Prescott, Ariz., and Opal Schroeder of Tuscon; two brothers, Chester and Glen, both of Huntingburg; six grandchildren, Clint and Bryan Hanebutt, Kim Thomas, Chuck Cochren, Desiree Hartwick and Kristen Sigman; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Thursday at Salem United Church of Christ, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery
with military rites.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service, at Nass & Son Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
Elson Fortune
HATFIELD - Elson Bon Fortune, 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport.
He retired as a welder from Arkla Industries and was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; a daughter, Bonnie Kall of Newburgh; two sons, Kenny of Richland and Lynn of Rockport; his mother, Ethel Fortune of Hatfield; a brother, Robert of Richland; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with burial in James Parker Cemetery.

Glenna Jankin
ROCKPORT - Glenna Jankin, 79, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Miller's Merry Manor of pneumonia.
She retired in 1993 as a cook from the Spencer County Law Enforcement Center and had been in the amusement park business for 30 years.
Surviving are a son, Sheldon "Sonny" Tharp of Rockport; and a sister, Vernell Wood of Newark, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Romalee Brenton
PETERSBURG - Romalee (Hensley) Brenton, 72, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Jasper's Memorial Hospital of cancer.
She had been a beautician.
Surviving are her husband, Rodney; a son, Danny of Martinsville; two sisters, Pat Williams of Petersburg and Linda Sedwick of Iowa; two brothers, Bill Hensley of Petersburg and Joe Hensley of Winslow; and three grandchildren. Her son, David, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Thursday in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Bruce Thompson
OAKLAND CITY - Bruce Thompson, 53, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville of liver failure.
He was a fisherman and enjoyed car racing.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Janice; a daughter, Tina Thompson of Francisco; a son, Timothy of Oakland City; a sister, Darlene Hudnall of Bedford; and two grandchildren.
There will be no service or visitation. Benton-Glunt Funeral Home in Henderson, Ky., is handling arrangements.
Austin McCurry
Austin W. McCurry, 83, of Evansville, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital.
He retired in 1983 from the store room after 28 years with SIGECO, was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Sebree, Ky., and enjoyed farming and bird watching.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Gladys B. (Bowling), and nieces and nephews. His daughter, Brenda McCurry, died in 1961.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, the Rev. Don Moore officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dorothy Wilkinson
Dorothy L. Wilkinson, 65, of Evansville, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, at her home of an apparent heart attack.
She worked for Hardee's Restaurant for 22 years and retired from Lazarus after eight years.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, travel and gardening.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Carl M.; two daughters, Kathy Peckenpaugh and Vicki Gish, both of Evansville; two sons, David and Steven, both of Evansville; a sister, Marie Buck of Oakland City, Ind.; six grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Jonathan Wilkinson, Jennifer and Wesley Peckenpaugh and Briana Gish; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, Judith N. Atkins officiating, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Nina Sellers
Nina J. Sellers, 74, of Evansville, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at her home of heart failure.
She was a member of Berean Bible Church. She was a quilter and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, reading the Bible and yard sales.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy "Dottie" Eisenhauer of Folsomville, Ind.; three sons, Bradley J., Samuel T. and Eddie K. Keller, all of Evansville; six sisters, Fay Dority, Helen Cox, Mary Lou Ludden, Wanda North and Sue Reid, all of Evansville, and Jane McBroom of Indianapolis; two brothers, Bill Sellers of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Donald Sellers of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Sherry Albright, Lori Lyon, David, Atheana, Jade, Holly and Beth Keller and Zach Wilson; and great-grandchildren. A son, Lester, died in 1994.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Paul Davis officiating, with burial in Springdale Cemetery
in Sebree, Ky.
