Robert 'Scotty' Scott
Robert I. "Scotty" Scott, 87, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at McCurdy Residential Center.
He was a railroader and truck driver for Atlas Van Lines. He enjoyed playing cards and pool at Schnute Tower, where he lived.
Surviving are his caregivers, Judy Claspell and Paul and Peggy Smithhart.
Arrangements are pending at Pierre Funeral Home.
Agnes Legg
Agnes (Driskell) Legg, 89, of Evansville, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.
She retired from the Salvation Army in 1972, where she worked in the Red Shield stores.
Surviving are seven grandchildren, Terry, Larry, Tony, Kenny and Fred Ritter, Theresa Carr and Azetta Mason; 10 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Legg, in 1972; and several children.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Kathryn Wambach
Kathryn G. Wambach, 50, of Tallahassee, Fla., the daughter of Bettye Wambach of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in Tallahassee of apparent heart failure.
She received her bachelor's in psychology from Purdue University, and later earned her master's and doctorate in social work from Florida State University.
She worked as associate professor and director of the undergraduate program at the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work since 1992. She received many awards for her service, including one in for excellent teaching.
She served on the board of AIDS Services of Austin and championed women's rights.
Also surviving are her companion, Janet Boes; and three brothers, Kris of Destin, Fla., and Kurt and Jon, both of Evansville.
Memorial services will be Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at the University of Texas at Austin.

Lou Etta Rice
DALE — Lou Etta Rice, 71, of Globe, Ariz., formerly of Dale, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at her home of heart failure.
She was a 1948 graduate of Dale High School and served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1951.
She played professional baseball and softball with the Arizona Ramblers and received her teaching degree at Arizona State University in 1960 and her master's in 1970.
She retired as an educator from Globe High School after 29 years and was a member of Dale United Methodist Church and the White Mountain Eastern Star Chapter 8 in Globe.
Surviving are three brothers, Tyrus Rice of Dale, Vernon Rice of Salinas, Calif., and William Rice of Newburgh; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Fuller Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deaconess St. Joseph Hospice.
Clara Senninger
CELESTINE — Clara R. Senninger, 93, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Northwood Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and active in the St. Ann's Society.
Surviving are two daughters, Rita Egloff and Bernice Fuhs, both of Jasper; three sons, Frank of Jasper, and Ralph and Linus, both of Celestine; 16 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Senninger, in 1981; and a daughter, Irene.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Becher-Kluesner Funeral Home Downtown Chapel in Jasper, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
Thomas Beckman
JASPER — Thomas L. Beckman, 67, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center of apparent heart failure.
He was a former Jasper City Councilman and retired from Kimball International Lodging Division in 1998. He and his family started the former Lorey Brothers Furniture Store and he later worked for Krodel Wholesale Co., was an assistant manager for Reising's Department Store and owned and operated the Montgomery Ward Catalog Sales Agency in Jasper and Huntingburg from 1966 to 1976.
He also owned and operated Tom's Cycle Center in Jasper from 1976 to 1986 and managed the Kimball Music Center from 1986 to 1996.
He was a charter member and vice president of the Jasper Optimists Club, was instrumental in helping secure the Senior Citizens Center, was a past president of the Jasper Jaycees,was a member of the Jasper Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Shirley (Mundy); three daughters, Debbie Chaney of Shelbyville, and Susan Berg and Amy Mehringer, both of Jasper; three sons, Phil, Dr. Scott and John, all of Jasper; 13 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. EST Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with entombment in Fairview Cemetery

Thomas McKnight
OAKLAND CITY — Thomas A. McKnight, 48, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at his home of apparent heart failure.
He was a member of Sons of the American Legion Post 256, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Pacific Lodge 175 in Petersburg and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Theresa McKnight of Jasper; a son, B.J. Caldemeyer of Jasper; his father, Walter of Oakland City; five sisters, JoAnn Church of Petersburg, Mary Culbertson of Oakland City, Grace Lutrell of Patoka, Joyce McKnight-Reuss of Mariah Hill and Margaret Swearengen of St. Ann, Mo.; a brother, Kevin of Somerville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with burial in Blackfoot Cemetery
in Coe.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Evelyn Bates
ROCKPORT — Evelyn G. Bates, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Baker's Rest Haven in Boonville.
She was a member of Richland Eastern Star, Lincoln Hills Arts and Crafts Association and Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Bill of Mequon, Wis., Don of Monet, Mo., and David of Newburgh; a sister, Caulderine Savage of Rockport; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Bates, in 1983.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery.
