Sister Evelyn Mourey
Sister Evelyn Mourey, 81, died at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday (May 23, 2001) at the Holy Family Health Care Center, Victory Noll.
Sister Mourey entered the congregation of Our Lady of Victory Missionary Sisters on Oct. 28, 1939, and made her first vows on Aug. 5, 1942. She taught and coordinated religious education and served as a nurse in the health education field. She ministered in Ohio, Alabama, Missouri, Colorado, Wyoming, California, and Texas, and in Bolivia, South America.
She was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Monroeville, a daughter of Leonard and Eva C. Dodine Mourey.
Survivors include three brothers, Edwin Mourey, New Haven, James Mourey, Port Richey, Fla., and Richard Mourey, Sebring, Fla.; and four sisters, Ruth Ann Coonrad, Monroeville, Blanche Schaefer, Fort Wayne, Pauline Klinder, Payne, Ohio, and Maxine Rorick, Fort Wayne.
Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the Victory Noll Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Victory Noll Chapel, with Father Thomas Fahey officiating. Calling will be held an hour before the wake service and an hour before the Mass. Burial will be at Victory Noll Cemetery.

Camilla Eckert
Camilla “Millie” Reed Eckert, 67, of Columbia City and formerly of Andrews, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday (May 22, 2001) at her home.
Mrs. Eckert retired from Wayne Metal Products in Markle. She had worked for GEMCO in Andrews for 21 years.
She was born Sept. 22, 1933 in Huntington to Frank and Anna Brubaker Huston. On Aug. 21, 1951 she married Donald R. Reed, who died April 17, 1992. On Aug. 9, 1996 she married Dennis L. Eckert, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Daniel Reed of Clearwater, Fla., and Daren Reed of Columbia City; a daughter, Mrs. Brad (Christine) Thorp of Centerville, Ohio; two stepsons, James Eckert and Jeff Eckert of Churubusco; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Chad (Dawn) Goodyear of Churubusco; a brother, David Huston of Wabash; two sisters, Mrs. Spike (Myra Jean) Shively of Huntington and Rosemary Eberly of North Webster; eight grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Eckert was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Huston, Martin Huston, Frank Huston Jr. and John Robert Huston.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., where Rev. Brad Thorp will officiate at the 10 a.m. Friday service.
Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery
in Andrews.

Robert E. McNabb
A memorial service for Robert E. McNabb will be held at noon Sunday, May 26, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne.
Robert E. McNabb, 76, of Huntington, died March 23, 2001, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Alpha Funeral Service, Indianapolis, was in charge of arrangements.
Norma J. Baker
Norma J. Baker, 72, of North Manchester, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday (May 23, 2001) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Baker had been the bookkeeper for the Town of North Manchester and had previously been the bookkeeper for Manchester Auto Sales.
She was born June 13, 1928 in Wabash County to Ray and Pearl Lindzy Klutz. She graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, in 1946 and attended International Business College. She married Russell L. Baker on March 14, 1959. Her husband survives.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. L. Michael Wilson and Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating.
Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Opal L. Stephens
Opal L. Stephens, 93, 5380 N. Broadway, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday (May 26, 2001) at her daughter's home in Huntington.
Mrs. Stephens, a lifetime resident of Huntington, had worked at Memcor from 1957 until retiring in 1973. She had formerly worked at Caswell Runyan and had been a volunteer with the Thirft Shop in Huntington for over 13 years. She was a member of the First Brethren Church.
She was born Jan. 19, 1908, in Huntington County to Charles and Elsie Bump Kunce. She married Paul Stephens on June 13, 1924, in Huntington. Her husband died Feb. 11, 1977.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Stephens Jr., Newburg, W.Va., O. Gene Stephens, Indianapolis, Donald Stephens, Columbia City, and Roger Stephens, Eloy, Arizona; a daughter, Sue Boggs, Huntington; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Stephens; a brother, Anson Kunce; two sisters, Florence Griffiths and Lucille Tuggle; her stepfather, Otto Seber; and a half-brother, George Seber.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Barry L. Faucett will officiate.
Burial will be at the Spider Hill Cemetery, Wells County.

Forse C. Ray
Forse Conley Ray, 68, of Wilkerson Street, died at 9:55 a.m. Saturday (May 26, 2001) at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Ray worked as a tool and die journeyman at General Motors in Marion for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Local 977 Union, Marion, and a member of the Central Indiana Bluegrass Association. He was a
Korean War Army veteran.
He was born July 13, 1932, in Virgie, Ky., to Henry D. and Lena Johnson Ray. He married Beverly Miller on July 23, 1955, in Huntington. His wife survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susan L. Ray and Mrs. Joseph (Patricia G.) Bickel, both of Huntington; a son, Randal J. Ray, Fort Wayne; four sisters, Pearl Adkins, Martin, Ky., Draxie Johnson, Huntington, and Jewell Tackett and Agnes Ray, both of Virgie, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and six brothers.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Shirley Gordon and Lacey Lewis will officiate.
Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Tanner Merle McClure
Tanner Merle McClure, 3 days old, died at 8:45 p.m. Saturday (May 26, 2001) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born on May 23, 2001, in Fort Wayne, to Matthew and Melissa Law McClure, Roanoke. His parents survive.
Other survivors include his paternal grandparents, Marcia McClure, Roanoke, and Rick and Deena McClure, Petroleum; his maternal grandparents, Michael and Jill Law, Roanoke; paternal great-grandmother, Margaret Somers, Roanoke; maternal great-grandmothers, Phyllis Williams and Hildreth Law, both of Roanoke; and an uncle, Matthew Law.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Chapel Cemetery, 880E-1100N, Huntington.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Roanoke Fire Department First Responders, in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.
Rev. Vance D. Davison
Rev. Vance D. Davison, 87, Bluffton, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday (May 27, 2001) at his residence.
Rev. Davison retired in 1979 after 50 years as a Nazarene minister. He was at the First Church of the Nazarene, Bluffton, from 1950-58; at Huntington Northside, from 1959-64; in Van Buren from 1941-45; and had also served at Ridgeville, Attica, Angola and Union Chapel churches. He was recognized in 1987 for 50 years of active ministry. He was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene College, Kankakee, Ill.
He was born in Wells County on Nov. 26, 1913, to Furl and Amy M. Davis Davison. His first wife was Imogene Hubley Davison, who died in 1981. His second wife was Nina J. Shady Davison, who died in September 1986. He married his third wife, Joyce Penrod Cowgill, on Dec. 31, 1986. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Vance L. Davison, Bluffton, Paul G. Davison, Oden, Mich., and Mark Cowgill, Aurora, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Tammy) Stroud and Mrs. Kevin (Cathy) Ewart, both of Bluffton; two sisters, Vivian Elzey, Warren, and Viola Hubley, Huntington; a brother, Verlin Davison, Bluffton; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides his first two wives, he was preceded in death by a son, Hugh Cowgill, in 1986.
Calling will be 6-8 p.m. tonight and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt and Chaney Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington, Bluffton, and one hour before the 10:30 a.m. Thursday services at the First Church of the Nazarene, Bluffton, with Rev. Larry Sheets officiating.
Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, Ossian.
Preferred memorials are to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or to the family.
Robert L. Schuelke
Robert L. Schuelke, 79, Fort Wayne, died Tuesday (May 29, 2001) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Schuelke was a machinist, tool maker and apprentice graduate with General Electric. He retired from International Harvester in 1983 with 17 years of service. He was a part-time instructor at Ivy Tech State College and also worked part-time at Prestige Exteriors Inc. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was born June 23, 1921, in Fort Wayne to Henry and Martha Giegold Schuelke. He married Melva Wiley, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Kuhn, Larwill; a son, Tom Schuelke, Fort Wayne; two sisters, Ruth Richards, Fort Wayne, and Carol Kreigh, Albion; and three grandchildren.
Calling is 2-4:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., Fort Wayne.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Rd., Fort Wayne.
Burial will be at the Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
