Delbert N. Deckard
Delbert Noble Deckard, 86, of rural Huntington, died at 11 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 22, 2001) at his home.
Mr. Deckard was a purchasing agent for the Fort Wayne Leasing Company for 17 years, retiring in 1976. He then farmed in Huntington County for 20 years, retiring in 1996.
He was born Feb. 2, 1915, in Vincennes, to Leonard and Dean Grahm Deckard. He married Alberta I. Pruitt in Vincennes on Nov. 11, 1933. His wife survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Delbert “Del” Deckard Jr., Churubusco, and George Deckard, Roanoke; two daughters, Emmadean Todd, Greenfield, and Joyce Garwood, Wolcottville; three brothers, Leonard Deckard, Ellettsville, Charlie Deckard, Watkinsville, Ga., and Ivan Deckard, of Minnesota; two sisters, June Newton, Bloomington, and Helen McConnell, Terre Haute; a half-sister, Alberta Young, Valparaiso; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Rick Kreischer will officiate.
Interment will be at the Old Lutheran and Union Cemetery, Roanoke.

Norman L. Campbell
Norman L. Campbell, 91, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, died at 12:10 a.m. Friday (Dec. 21, 2001) at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mr. Campbell, a graduate of Banquo High School, retired in 1978 from Anaconda Wire & Cable Co. and was also retired from farming. He was a member of Mt. Etna United Methodist Church.
He was born Nov. 1, 1910, in Huntington County, a son of Alvin P. and Addra L. Detamore Campbell. On Feb. 14, 1937, in Wayne Township, Huntington County, he married Gonverd E. Spaulding Campbell, who died Jan. 14, 1992.
Survivors include a son, Garl Campbell of Huntington, six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Calling is 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, in Warren, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, with Rev. John Pattison officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery.
Harold E. Miller
Harold E. Miller, 86, Garrett, died at 6:49 p.m. Monday (Dec. 24, 2001) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Miller was a member of the Altar Star United Methodist Church in Garrett. He was retired from International Harvester, Fort Wayne.
He was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Cleaton, Ky., a son of Lloyd Miller and Oshie Hill. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; they were married June 27, 1953.
Additional survivors include a son, Harold E. Miller Jr., St. Charles, Ky.; eight brothers; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Garry (Lorri L.) Reust, Huntington.
A brother and a sister are deceased.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, 365 W. Main St., Berne, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Rev. Gerry Weesner will officiate.
Burial will be at Springhill Cemetery, rural Berne.

Fred E. Cunningham Sr.
Fred E. Cunningham Sr., 85, 227 Grayston Ave., died at his home at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 25, 2001).
Mr. Cunningham retired from Orton Crane, where he had worked 31 years. He had also worked at Caswell-Runyan and was a government inspector at Hosdred Company, both formerly in Huntington.
He was born May 8, 1916, in Huntington, a son of Robert O. Cunningham and Esther Dinius Cunningham. He married Virginia Parrett Nov. 10, 1938, in Indianapolis; his wife survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Fred Cunningham Jr., Markle; two daughters, Bonnie Kratz and Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Sunderman, both of Huntington; four sisters, Caroline Pressler, Aransas, Tex., Emiline Wright, Huntington, Ethel Reed, Van Wert, Ohio, and Glenna Brown, Kokomo; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, William Cunningham, Robert Cunningham, Benjamin Cunningham, and Walter Cunningham; and two sisters, Mary Bischoff and Cleo Crooks.
Calling is 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Elzie Spencer will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Parkview Huntington Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Arlene M. Classon
Arlene Marie Classon, 65, Leesburg, Fla., died Sunday (Dec. 23, 2001).
Mrs. Classon was a retired teacher. A native of Wyandott, Mich., she moved to Leesburg, Fla., in 1994 from Chelsea, Mich. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, David Classon; a son, David Classon, Huntington; two daughters, Brenda Macomber, Manchester, Mich., and Jennifer Shiver, Cumming, Ga.; three brothers, John Henry, Taylor, Mich., Robert McCrea, River View, Mich., and Richard McCrea, Seabrook, Tex.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Page-Theus Funeral Home, 914 W. Main St., Leesburg, Fla. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Father Hollis Buchanan officiating.
Dan P. Berry
Funeral services for Dan Perrin Berry were held Dec. 22 at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, Swayzee, with Rev. James Miller officiating. Burial was at the Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee.
Mr. Berry, 90, died Dec. 18, 2001, at his home in St. Petersburg, Fla. He had lived in Florida for the past 26 years and was a former resident of Swayzee, where he had lived for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg; and was a past member of the Swayzee Town Board and the Masonic Lodge. He was a World War II Army veteran and had been active in Civil Defense.
He was born April 6, 1911, in Webster Grove, Mo., to Claude P. and Ivy Fern Bevier Berry. He married Geneva Rinehold; his wife survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Julian, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Beverly Elliott, Glen Carbon, Ill.; a son, Dan E. Berry, Huntington; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Meyer; and a brother, Robert Berry.
Johnina Boxell
Johnina Boxell, 92, of Warren, died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 27, 2001) at the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren, where she had lived the past six months.
Mrs. Boxell had worked as a clerk at Myers Department Store in Warren, Memcor in Huntington, and McElhaney’s Restaurant in Warren. She was a member of the Warren United Methodist Church.
She was born June 15, 1909, in Eaton, to Rue James and Rose Etta Remington Long. She graduated from Chester Center High School, Wells County, in 1927. She married J. Earl Boxell in Warren on Aug. 23, 1929. He died March 19, 1963.
Survivors include a son, William L. Boxell, Warren; two daughters, Mrs. Ron (Deanna) Johnston and Mrs. Earl (Monna) Wilson, both of Huntington; two sisters, Jonina Black, Washington, Ill., and Mrs. Eugene (June) Michaud, Warren; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, six brothers and two grandchildren.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Mike Beall officiating.
Burial will be at the Jones Cemetery, Warren.

Lorene Reynolds
Lorene Reynolds, 87, Andrews, died at 2:14 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 27, 2001) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Reynolds was a seamstress. She was 1931 graduate of Monument City High School and was a member of the Andrews United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 75 of Huntington, and the Dallas Township Extension Homemakers Club.
She was born Sept. 30, 1914, in Fairfield, Ill., to Joseph and Arminta Webber Kennedy. Her first marriage was to Herbert Harrell, who preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Roscoe P. Reynolds. He died in March 1988.
She is survived by a son, Phillip Reynolds, Bippus; a daughter, Janice Reynolds, Decatur; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence Kennedy, Andrews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Harrell, and two brothers, Harold Kennedy and Henry Kennedy.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Mark Whinery officiating.
Interment will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery.
