Sylvia Fuka
Newburgh resident Sylvia K. Fuka died Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Angel River Health and Rehabilitation. She was 89.
She was an employee of Sears Roebuck Parent Office in Chicago, Ill. for 38 years.
She was a 48-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and Past Madam President, State Trustee and a member of the North Riverside Golden Agers.
She was a member of the Golden Tones of LaGrange Senior Center, First Czech Garden Club.
She was a Macneal Hospital Meals on Wheels Delivery and Volunteer Coordinator. She was a North Illinois Senior Olympic Participant for 10 years.
She enjoyed ballroom dance, vocal music and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edward A. Fuka, in 1996 and her son, Edward P. Fuka, in 1995.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and William Herrin of Newburgh; five grandchildren, Francine Shaw and Edward Fuka, both of Carol Stream, Ill., and Rigel Headley of Lakewood, Colo., Jon Herrin of St. Louis, Mo. and Mark Herrin of Cincinnati, Ohio; 10 great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jeremy Fuka and Joel Shaw, all of Carol Stream, Ill., Nicklas and Fletcher Herrin, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; Maxwell and Cassandra Herrin, both of St. Louis, Mo., Jenniffer Morrow of Littleton, Colo., Wendy Ernest and Kerry Aldrich, both of Lakewood, Colo.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 4, at H. Marik Sons/George Schubert Funeral Home in Berwyn, Ill. Entombment was in Woodlawn Mausoleum in Forest Park, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Wilbur Claspell
Newburgh resident Wilbur Claspell died Monday, Jan. 29, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center of pulmonary failure. He was 71.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia "Pat" (Leisure); two daughters, Caretha and Cindy Claspell, both of Newburgh; two sons, David of Indianapolis and Daniel of Henderson, Ky.; his mother, Anna Mack of Illinois; and four grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Katie and Nicholas Claspell.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 2, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. Private burial was in Fairmont Cemetery
in Henderson.
Carl Haas
Henderson, Ky., resident Carl E. Haas died Saturday, Jan. 27, at his home of heart disease. He was 64.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Kavanaugh); a step-daughter, Angela Chapman of Newburgh; two sons, Carl Jr. and Mark, both of Pennsylvania; a stepson, Charles Chapman; and four grandchildren, Zachary, Carl, Devin and Krista Haas.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, in Corydon Cemetery
in Henderson. Boone Funeral Home in Evansville handled arrangements.
Bobby Hall
Evansville resident Bobby G. Hall died Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Deaconess Hospital of complications of a stroke. He was 68.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Norma Hall; three sons, Steve, Roy and James Hall, adopted son Donald Sweeney, one daughter, Brenda Hall, all of Evansville; one brother; Clyde T. Hall; three sisters, Barbara Courter of Newburgh, Margrett Hudelston of Evansville and Wanda Moser of Evansville; 21 grandchildren, Wendy, Steven, Mendy, Nicole, Billy, Norma, Mark, and Tabitha Hall, Roy Jr., Bobby, Royce, Jesse and Angela Hall, Ronnie and Christy Burress, Tammie Wilson, Sid and Jacob Dily and Ashley Futrell; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Destiny and Conner Hall.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, at Simpson Meyer Funeral Home in Evansville. Burial was held at Rose Hill with military Rites. Rev. Bill Bullock officiated.
Jerry Folsom
Jerry Lee Folsom, formerly of Lynnville, passed away Jan. 17, at the Winter Park Memorial Hospital in Orlando, Fla. He was 65.
He was a T.V. technician and an Army veteran.
Surviving are sisters, Inez Carr and Diane Moore, both of Rockport. His wife Iona (McKinney) Folsom died in 1986. Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Lynnville Cemetery
with Boonville V.F.W Post 3418 conducting military Rites. Rev. Robert Carr officiated. The Pemberton-Bradley Funeral Home in Lynnville handled arrangements.
Sue Kroeger
Boonville resident Sue (McCulla) Kroeger died Thursday, Feb. 1, at 11:55 a.m. at St. Mary's Warrick. She was 67.
She was a life member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Boonville. She graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1954. She retired as a registered nurse for Dr. Kenneth Rudolph after 20 years. She was a public health nurse in Vanderburgh County during the early 1960s and a Volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Drives in Warrick County.
She was a member of Rainbow Girls, Gamma Iota Chapter Tri Kappa, Rebekah Lodge and Woman's Leader of Anderson Township Farm Bureau.
She was a choir member of the church and loved music and enjoyed singing. She belonged to Bridge Club and the Metropolitan and Friday Night Dance clubs. She was a member of the Dayville Home Extension Club.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, William Kroeger of Boonville; and a son, Bill Kroeger of Boonville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 4, at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Boonville. Rev. Donald Kanet and Pastor Larry Miller officiated. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Cemetery
in Boonville.

Joe Elliott
Dale resident Joe Dan Elliott died Saturday, Feb. 3, at 4:45 p.m. at Professional Care Rehabilitation Center of respiratory failure. He was 72.
He had served on the Board of Directors for the Dale State Bank and the Lincoln Land Bank Corp. He was a self employed livestock dealer and retired in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Harper Hufnagel) Elliott of Dale; a stepson, Jon Hufnagel of Dale; two stepdaughters, Jane Kerly of Greenville and Jaye Buse of Holland; and six stepgrandchildren, Aaron and Adam Hufnagel, Jordan and Jaylen Buse, Jackson and Madison Kerly.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Fuller Funeral Home-Dale Chapel. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery
in Dale.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
Loretta Koenig
Dale resident Loretta M. Koenig died Friday, Feb. 2, at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was 83.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale and a member of the Ladies Fodality at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Koenig, in 1992; a son, Charles Koenig in 1971; a grandson, Chris Koenig; and two brothers, Wally and Elmer Nord.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Koenig of Huntingburg; a son, Ken Koenig of Mariah Hill; a sister, Mildred Hembree of Huntingburg; and three grandchildren, Scott Koenig of Newburgh, Craig Koenig of Santa Claus and Janelle Koenig of Mariah Hill.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Dale.
Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory - Dale Chapel handled arrangements.

Clara Rector
Evansville resident Clara B. (Crabtree) Rector died Saturday, Feb. 3, at St. Mary's Medical Center of heart failure. She was 74.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Troy; three daughters, Sharon McCormick and Teresa Wargel, both of Evansville and Brenda Raibley of Newburgh; two sons, Steve of Marietta, Ga., and Charles Dale of Newburgh; her mother, Alma Crabtree of Madisonville; three sisters, Patsy Brown and Marie Crabtree, both of Madisonville and Lorraine Turley of Providence; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5, at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Arthritis Foundation.
Louise Nelson
Boonville resident Louise Skinner Nelson died Friday, Feb. 2, at East Pointe Health and Rehabilitation of respiratory problems.
She was 72.
She had been a waitress at Turnham Cafe.
She was a member of Westside Assembly of God and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Lonnie Thomas of Henderson, Ky., and Darnella Thomassan of Boonville; a son, Steven of Boonville; two sisters, Ruby Holmers of Newburgh and Alline Skinner of Evansville; two brothers, Edward Dellender of Evansville and William Dellender of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5, at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel in Evansville. Entombment was in Park Lawn Cemetery.
