Walter Spencer
GENTRYVILLE - Walter "Bus" Spencer, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at his home of complications of throat cancer and renal failure.
He was retired and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Surviving are three sons, Howard Eugene Davis of Omaha, Neb., and Larry and David Spencer, both of Huntingburg; three sisters, Ethel Good of Richland, LaVon Case of of Gentryville and Ardella Curtsinger of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; two brothers, Girtha of Dale and Dick of Jennings, Fla.; and three grandsons, Chris, Heath and Joe Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Kays) Spencer, in 1997, and a daughter, Angie Spencer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST today at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.

Patricia Goldman
BIRDSEYE - Patricia S. (Sigrest) Goldman, 46, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper of a brain tumor.
She was a bank teller for the Birdseye branch of the German American Bank.
She was a member of Birdseye Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 25 years, Mark Goldman; a daughter, Brianne G. Hasenour of St. Anthony; her mother and stepfather, Opal and Don Froste of Whitesburg, Ky.; two sisters, Stella Barnett of Eckerty and Judy Allen of Tazwell; a brother, Master Sgt. Stuart Sigrest of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Chance and Jade Hasenour.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brittany Goldman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at Birdseye Christian Church, with burial in the Community Chapel Church of the Living God Cemetery
in Eckerty.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and from 1 p.m. to service time at the church.
Frank Conrad
VINCENNES - John F. "Frank" Conrad, 87, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He attended Gibault High School and was a 1934 graduate of Lincoln High School and 1939 graduate of Notre Dame.
He taught at Lincoln High School for 35 years and coached basketball, football and track.
He was a member of Old Cathedral Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Martha (Kramer) Conrad; four daughters, Jayne Hoffman of Newburgh and Sally Snyder, Beth Landrey and Suzie Hutchinson, all of Vincennes; two sons, Michael of Tallahassee, Fla., and Robert of Holiday, Fla.; a sister, Sister Adrian Marie SP of Culver City, Calif.; a brother, Adrian of Oswego, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. EST today at Old Cathedral Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Lindsey
ROCKPORT - George M. Lindsey, 64, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Owensboro Mercy Health System in Owensboro, Ky., of a heart attack.
He was the owner of Lindsey Roofing for 33 years.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Wilda Lindsey; two daughters, Mayola Toliver of Rockport and Angel Cummings of Chandler; a son, Alfred of Evansville; three sisters, Hallie Blanchard of Hartford, Ky., Vina Hayse of Beaver Dam, Ky., and Claudia Burden of Hatfield; two brothers, Enos and Wesley, both of Beaver Dam, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Paul, in 1998, and Thomas Ray, in 1995.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, with burial in Shiloh Cemetery.

Dickie Coomer
PRINCETON - Dickie Lee Coomer, 47, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of appar- ent heart failure.
He was a staff member at GCARC in Princeton.
He served in the Navy during the Vietname War.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Finney of Princeton and Jamie Coomer of Dade City, Fla.; a son, Dickie J. of Princeton; three sisters, Carolyn Lewis and Marie Rector, both of Princeton, and Lisa Botts of Oklahoma; five brothers, James, Bill and Raymond, all of Princeton, Armal of Tennessee and David of Oklahoma; and seven grandchildren, Falin, Kortney, Maygen, Christian, Autumn, Chico and Mathis.
There will be no services or visitation at Colvin Funeral Home.
Robert Pease Sr.
Robert L. Pease Sr., 71, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital of cancer.
He retired as a master painter from Lockheed Martin.
He was an Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki Pease of Evansville; two daughters, Ruth Ann Stucki of Evansville and Nina Maye McIlveen of Mount Pleasant, Tenn.; five sons, Robert L. Jr. of Missouri, Michael G., Robert Dewayne and Jonathon R., all of Evansville, and Richard L. of Hazleton, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, the Rev. Tom Savage officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Mary Edwards
Mary Ella Edwards, 80, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at her home.
She was a graduate of the University of Evansville and received her master's degree and principal's license from Indiana University.
She retired from the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp. after 17 years, having taught at Wheeler and Harper elementary schools.
She was a member of Magna Carta Dames, Royal Crown of Charlemagne, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Beth Casper and Jill Lawalin, both of Evansville, and Peg Winternheimer of St. Phillip, Ind.; and three grandsons, Matt Casper and Mark and David Schell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett "Eddie" Edwards, in 1990.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Kevin Fleming officiating, with burial in Campground Cemetery.

Sister Mary Bourke
Sister Mary Bourke, 84, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Seton Residence.
She was a 1934 graduate of St. Patrick High School in Chicago and joined the Daughters of Charity in 1935.
She worked as a postulant at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis and graduated as a registered nurse in 1940. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Louisiana State University in 1948 and worked for Hotel Dieu Hospital in New Orleans.
She served as a nursing supervisor for Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas, where she also was director of nurses, St. Joseph Hospital in St. Joseph, Mo., St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, O'Connor Hospital in San Jose, Calif., and St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton, Ill. She also served as administrator of St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. She received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Evansville in 1976 and worked as an administrator for St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Mich.
She served in the hospitality center of Seton Shrine in Emmitsburg, Md., in 1983; quality assurance at St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee in 1984; and the information desk at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chicago in 1987. She was active in the Ministry of Prayer at Seton Residence.
Surviving are a sister, Sister Ann Bourke of Tulsa, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Seton Chapel, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. Ziemer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daughters of Charity Foundation.
