Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Dr. Sam Young will officiate.

Burial will be at the Beech Grove Cemetery, Huntington County.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ, Cancer Services for Huntington, or Home Health Care and Hospice, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750.

Dewey D. Hoffman Jr.

Dewey D. Hoffman Jr., 76, rural Huntington, died at 3:27 p.m. Friday (July 12, 2002) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Dr. Sam K. Young officiating.

Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to the Huntington County Cancer Society or to the American Lung Association, in care of the Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Florence E. Frick

Florence E. Frick, 79, Rome City, died at 10:10 a.m. Monday (July 15, 2002) at her home.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hutchins Funeral Home, Ind.-9, Wolcottville, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Dan Lash will officiate.

Burial will be at Orange Cemetery, Rome City.

Preferred memorials are to the Weston Street Bible Church, in care of Hutchins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 341, Wolcottville, IN 46795.

Galen H. Shultz

Galen H. Shultz, 87, Sebring, Fla., died at 11:55 p.m. Monday (July 15, 2002) at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring.

Calling is noon-8 p.m. Sunday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren. The Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Bill VanHaften and Rev. John Wallace officiating. Burial will be at the Asbury Cemetery, Montpelier.

Memorial contributions may be made to the McNatt United Methodist Church Building Fund, 9721W-800S-90, Warren IN 46792.

Sondra J. Moore

Sondra J. Moore, 66, a resident of Brawley Street, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday (July 16, 2002) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Good Shepherd Retreat Center, or the Shepherd’s Closet in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington IN 46750.

Edna E. Boxell

Edna E. Boxell, 91, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, died at the home at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday (July 17, 2002).

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Herbert Edwards will officiate. Burial will be at Jones Cemetery, Warren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2420 N. Coliseum Blvd., Suite 200, Fort Wayne IN 46805.

Naomi M. Alles

Naomi Mary Alles, 69, 2720E-1000N, Roanoke, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday (July 15, 2002) at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Roanoke Memorial Funeral Chapel, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Additional calling will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke, from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, with services at the church at 11 a.m. Father Kenneth Sarrazine will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church for Masses or to the American Cancer Society in care of Roanoke Memorial Funeral Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke IN 46783.

Dennis Lynn Burnworth

Dennis Lynn “Burney” Burnworth, 57, 1335 Ogan Ave., died at 2:15 a.m. Thursday (July 18, 2002) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Burnworth worked as a handyman in the Huntington area for 15 years. Prior to that he worked at Kroger in Fort Wayne and at the Kings Corp. He was a lifetime resident of Huntington and was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.

Mr. Burnworth was born July 15, 1945, in Huntington, to Walter Lee and Meriam Maxine Beck Burnworth Weinley. He married the former Beatrice Annette Tackett on Nov. 25, 1965, in West Virginia. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Angela Denise Aldred, Warren, and Cheryl Lynn Spencer, Huntington; a son, Donald Lee Burnworth, Huntington; three brothers, Monte Lee Burnworth, West Liberty, Ohio, Steven Douglas Burnworth, Silver Lake, and Timothy DeWayne Weinley, Huntington; two sisters, Mrs. Greg (Shelly) Pressler, Huntington, and Tammy Burnworth, Hastings, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky Joe Burnworth and Michael Eugene Weinley, and one sister, Saundra Kay Burnworth.

Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Friday and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Huntington County in care of the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750.

Charles E. Lynn

Charles E. Lynn, 85, 433 E. High St., died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday (July 18, 2002) at the Norwood Nursing Center.

Arrangements are pending at the Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Howard L. Wisner

Howard Leroy Wisner, 91, Sarasota, Fla., died Saturday (July 6, 2002).

No calling and no funeral services are planned.

Arrangements were handled by the National Cremation Society, 766 S. Osprey Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236.

Preferred memorials are to the St. John’s United Methodist Church, 6611 Del Webb Blvd. E, Sun City Center, FL 33573-6972.

Gene Thompson

Gene Thompson, 82, 417 Gardner Ct., Markle, and formerly of Mt. Etna, died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday (July 20, 2002) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Tom DeFries and Tim Sneed will officiate.

Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Huntington County Chapter of the American Heart Association, in care of Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., P.O. Box 366, Warren, IN 46792.

Ernest B. Murphy

Ernest Bertram Murphy, 90, Bryant, died Saturday evening (July 20, 2002) at the Chalet Village in Berne following an extended illness.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, Portland Chapel, 208 N. Commerce St., Portland, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Steve Hill will officiate.

Burial will be at the IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery, Pennville.

Preferred memorials are to the Bryant Wesleyan Church or the Family Hospice of Berne, in care of Williamson & Spencer Funeral Homes, 208 N. Commerce St., Portland, IN 47371.

Robert J. Lunn, 53, Wabash, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday (July 21, 2002) at his home.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the First United Methodist Church, 210 W. Sinclair St., Wabash. Dave Phillips and James McDonald will officiate.
