Violet M. Richhart, 85, Columbia City and formerly of New Haven, died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 3, 2002) at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City, where she had been a resident the past four weeks.

Private family visitation will be held Wednesday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco. Private graveside services will follow at the IOOF Cemetery, New Haven, with Rev. Christine Newman-Jacobs officiating.

Orva W. Earhart

Orva W. Earhart, 76, 7601S-900W-90, Warren, died at 1:50 p.m. Monday (Aug. 5, 2002) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Calling is 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Rick Bourne will officiate.

Burial will be at the Miller Cemetery, Poneto.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne, in care of Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren, IN 46792.

Jane E. Conrad

Jane E. Conrad, 51, Huntington, died at 3:52 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 4, 2002) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.

Calling will be held from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Preferred memorials are to the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Shirley A. Beach

Shirley A. Beach, 64, 327 W. High St., died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 7, 2002) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Services are private and burial will be in the Mount Etna Cemetery.

Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750 is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis Ogle Nelson

Graveside services for Phyllis Ogle Nelson will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with her husband, John Nelson, presiding.

Mrs. Nelson, 71, Spring, Texas, a former resident of Anderson and Huntington, died Feb. 5, 2002.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association care of Scott Ogle, 17118 Wunder Hill Dr., Spring, Texas 77379.

The McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Betty Simmons

Betty Simmons, 75, died Sunday (Aug. 4, 2002) at Life Care Center, Fort Wayne.

Funeral arrangements are pending at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Maxine L. Platt

Maxine L. Platt, 87, Elkhart, a former Huntington resident, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 7, 2002) at her home.

Calling is Saturday from 2-3 p.m. at Marocco Funeral Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport, IN 46947.

Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. with Father Philip Haslinger officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Logansport.

Nadene E. Kapp

Nadene E. Kapp, 86, 6195N-200W, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Miller’s Merry Manor in Huntington.

Arrangements are pending at Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Mildred R. Britton

Mildred R. Britton, 81, 675 Indiana St., died at 9:51 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 8, 2002) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Arrangements are pending at Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Harold Teusch

Services for Harold James Teusch, 63, were held July 22 at the chapel of the James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, S.C.

Mr. Teusch, a resident of Elloree, S. C., died July 19, 2002.

Burial was at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, S.C.

Donna J. Swihart

Donna Jean Swihart, 74, 4919N Old Fort Wayne Rd., died at 12:16 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 11, 2002) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Arrangements are pending at the Bailey-Love Mortuary.

Betty E. Snider

Betty Elaine Snider, 77, a resident of the Norwood Nursing Center, died at the home at 9:25 p.m. Friday (Aug. 9, 2002).

Calling is 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Jon Kellam officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkview Huntington Hospice or the Huntington County Red Cross in care of the funeral home.

Patricia L. Shelton

Patricia L. Shelton, 62, Van Buren, died at 12:53 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 11, 2002) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton. Pastor Kenneth Sandefur will officiate.

Burial will be at Black Cemetery, Albany.

Preferred memorials are to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of Pitman-Richman Funeral Home, 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton, IN 47338.

Earl T. Phillips

Earl T. Phillips, 64, Peru, died at 10:24 a.m. Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru.

Calling will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Chaplain Steve Freck and Pastor George Dinkel officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peru.

Wayne B. King

Wayne B. King, 90, 11206S-600W-35, Marion (Wayne Township in Huntington County), died at 6:37 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 11, 2002) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Calling is 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Applegate Chapel of the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren. Services will be held at Applegate Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Kathie Jones officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson Center United Methodist Church, CR 900S and CR 300W, Warren.

Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren, is in charge of arrangements.

Joe E. Smith

Joe E. Smith, 83, Montpelier, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday (Aug. 9, 2002) at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m., at Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 207 W. Huntington St., Montpelier, with Father Bob Moran and IVFA Chaplin Charles Baker officiating.

Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Montpelier. Millard-Brown American Legion Post 156 is in charge of military rites.

Preferred memorials are to the Montpelier Volunteer Fire Department, 300 W. Huntington St., Montpelier, IN 47359.
