Frank A. Miller
Frank A. Miller, 73 of Huntington, died at 8:23 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the home of his daughter in Fort Wayne. Mr. Miller had worked at the Sealtest Company in Huntington for 33 years, retiring in 1989. He was a 1948 graduate of Huntington High School. He was a member of the St. Peter`s First United Church of Christ.
He was born on January 9, 1930 in Anderson, Indiana the son of Clyde H. and Ella M. Fuller Miller.
He was united in marriage to Madge A. Pleanitz on June 16, 1948 in Huntington. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: John A. Miller of Fishkill, NY; Thomas A. Miller of Plattsmouth, NB; three daughters: Mrs. James (Sue) Mendenhall of Fort Wayne; Peggy Scher of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Kevin (Sally) Kimmel of Fort Wayne; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A son: Rochard A. Miller and a sister: Grace Harney preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 27, 2003 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Heaslet officiating.
Interment will be at the St. Peter`s First United Church of Christ Cemetery
in Huntington.
Preferred memorials are to the Huntington County Cancer Society or the St. Peter`s First United Church of Christ both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Opal M. Snyder
Opal M. Snyder, 70 formerly of Waterworks Road, Huntington died at 12:10 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at her home in South Whitley. Mrs. Snyder worked for many years as a nurses aid at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Miller`s Merry Manor in Huntington, St. Joseph`s Hospital in Ft. Wayne and General Hospital in Ventura, CA. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and reading.
She was born on March 29, 1933 in Hector, PA, a daughter of Harry C. and Nettie M. Rhodes Tanner.
She was united in marriage to Horace A. Snyder, Sr on May 10, 1952 in Wellsville, NY. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1995.
Survivors include two sons: Michael Snyder and Joseph Snyder both of South Whitley; two daughters: Catherine Stanley and Cynthia Kempton both of South Whitley; three brothers: Gerald Tanner of Huntington; Larry Tanner of Kentucky; Clifford Tanner of Fort Wayne; a sister: Vivian Payne of South Whitley; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A brother: Joseph Tanner; a sister: Betty Sterling and a son: Horace Snyder, Jr. preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2003 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rev. Raymond Waldfogel officiating.
Preferred memorial are to the Parkview Home Health Care and Hospice in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Interment will be at the Glenwood Cemetery
in Roanoke.
Sterling Roy Henly
Sterling Roy Stu Henly, 79, of Emerald Lane in Huntington, died at 9:30 PM Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne. Mr. Henly worked for many years as a salesman with various local retail stores, including Wertenberger Tire, Niswander`s Auto Sales, Smith Furniture and Homier Distributing, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the VFW Post 2689 of Huntington and attended Charity Baptist Church.
Mr. Henly was born May 27, 1924 in Majenica, Indiana the son of Roy and Amy (Ebert) Henly. He was a Staff Sergeant and Bombadier in the US Army Air Corps during World War II (1943 - 1945), serving in the European Theatre. He was united in marriage to Louise A. Betty Slagle on June 24, 1946 in Trilby, Ohio. His wife survives.
Also surviving are: one son, Ronald R. Henly of Huntington; three daughters, Sharon Burley, Mrs. Ed (Carol) Holmes, and Mrs. Brian (Barbara) Waikel, all of Huntington; six grandchildren and 1 step grandson; 3 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a brother, Harold Henly; a sister, Martha Handley; two half-brothers, Elbert Trainer and Alda Trainer; and a half sister, Ruby Trainer.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2003 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana, with Pastor Wally Morris officiating.
Entombment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery
in southern Huntington County.

Richard E. Street
Richard E. Street, 76, of Hasty Street, Huntington, Indiana, died at 5:30 PM on Friday, July 4, 2003 at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Street served as a police officer with the Huntington Police Department from 1956-1976. He also worked as a security officer for Meldisco Corporation in Huntington from 1976 until his retirement in 1990.
Mr. Street was born in Huntington County on December 27, 1927 the son of Joseph and Ethel (Kennedy) Street. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Medical Corps from 1946 - 1947 in Korea. He was a member of the Huntington Fraternal Order of Police; a member of American Legion Post #160 of Roanoke; a member of VFW Post #2689 and the 40 & 8 Club of Huntington; and a member of Christ the King Episcopal Church in Huntington.
Survivors include: 4 sons - Billy F. Street of Lynnwood, WA, Bruce R. Street of Huntington, Michael L. Street of Huntington, and Brian Street of Markle; 3 daughters - Christine Schacht of Wichita, KS, Susan Hatala of Warsaw, IN, and Patricia Archbold of Huntington; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; 2 brothers - Glenn Street of Laurens, SC and Robert Street of Fort Wayne; and a companion, Phyllis Schultz of Huntington
He was preceded in death by: 3 sons - Thomas Street, Steven Street and Douglas Street; one brother, Joseph Street; and one sister, Agnes Baker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2003 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel with Rev. Margaret Harker officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.

Kevin W. Allred
Kevin W. Allred, 42 of Markle died on Friday afternoon July 11, 2003 in rural Markle, Wells County. Mr. Allred had previously worked as a District Manager for Speedway Oil Company for 15 years and then most recently for Joseph`s Construction of Huntington. He was a 1978 Graduate of Huntington North High school. He attended Indiana State University, Ball State University and Indiana - Purdue Fort Wayne studying Business. Mr. Allred was a member the Markle United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his children and following their school careers.
Mr. Allred was born on September 28, 1960 in Bluffton, IN a son of F. Wayne and Coleen Sparks Allred.
Survivors include: a son - Joel C. Allred and a daughter -Nikki R. Allred both of Poneto, his parents - Wayne and Coleen Allred of Markle, 2 sisters - Deb Peek of Ft. Wayne and Teresa Hosler of Huntington and his maternal Grandparents - Garl and Mildred Sparks of Warren.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, July 14, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St. Markle, IN 46770
Visitation will take place on Monday prior to the Service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
Interment will take place in the Markle Cemetery, Markle.

Richard F. Woodward
Richard Dick F. Woodward, 86 of Zanesville died on Friday, July 11, 2003 at 5:35 p.m. at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. Mr. Woodward was a life resident of the Zanesville and Markle areas. He was employed at General Electric in Ft. Wayne for 27 years retiring in 1979. He was a 1934 Graduate of Markle High school. Mr. Woodward was a Lifetime member of the Markle Church of Christ. He also enjoyed fishing, watching professional wrestling and spending his summers in Michigan.
Mr. Woodward was born on October 3, 1916 in Markle a son of John L. and Inez Morrical Woodward. He was united in marriage to Mabelle Mounsey on December 4, 1937 in Markle, she survives.
Additional Survivors include: 2 Daughters - Marilyn Spitler of Lindale, TX and Mrs. David ( Jane) Carroll of Auburn, IN., a son - Pastor Fred Woodward of Ft. Wayne, 3 Brothers - John and Charles Woodward of Markle and Thomas Woodward of Cheyenne, WY., 6 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert Woodward and a granddaughter Linda Spitler.
Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle, IN., with Pastor Gerald O. Moreland Officiating.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 14, 2003 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St. Markle, IN, there will also be 1 hour prior to the Service at the Church on Tuesday.
Interment will take place in the Markle Cemetery, Markle.

Warren Gilbert Smith
Warren G. Pill Smith, 93 of Huntington died at 11:32 AM on Monday, July 21, 2003 at the Parkview Huntington Hospital. Mr. Smith was a 1929 graduate of Lancaster High School. He was a lifetime Huntington County farmer. He was a member of the Faith Chapel United Methodist Church in Huntington County.
Mr. Smith was born on April 18, 1910 in Union Township, Huntington County a son of Raymond F. and Lola B. Whitacre Smith.
He was united in marriage to Retta E. Thorn on September 7, 1933 in Anderson, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1996.
Survivors include two sons: Ned Smith of Fort Wayne; Patrick T. Smith of Huntington; four daughters: Mrs. Robert (Joann) Dolby; Mrs. Eldon (Phylis) Bruner both of Huntington; Mrs. Rex (Sharon) Sisson; Mrs. Gary (Suellen) Jones both of Warren; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Two grandchildren: Karen Dolby and Keith Dolby; four brothers: Scott, Donald, Max and Brooks Smith and a sister: Winifred Lewis preceded him in death.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 from 2-8 PM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with rev. Mike Smith officiating.
Interment will be at the Zion Cemetery
in Huntington County.
