Catherine M. VanHolten, 86, 295 Beard St., died at 4 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, with Moose Twilight services at 8 p.m. followed by a rosary service at 8:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., with Father Ron Rieder officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Cancer Services for Huntington County, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750.

Howard F. Metzger

Howard F. Metzger, 84, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, and formerly of Bippus, died at 1:44 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) at the Peabody Healthcare Center.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114W, North Manchester, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Randell Webb will officiate.

Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Servia.

Preferred memorials are to the Wabash County Cancer Association, in care of DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114W, North Manchester, IN 46962.

Earl E. Guignet

Earl E. Guignet, 48, Fowlerton, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday (Sept. 27, 2002) at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Brad Strange officiating.

Burial will be at Matthews Cemetery, Matthews.

Betty I. Cormany

Betty I. Cormany, 59, 135 State St., Andrews, died at 3:05 a.m. Monday (Sept. 30, 2002) at her home.

Calling will be held from 5 p.m. until the 7 p.m. memorial service Wednesday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Andrews Chapel, 233 N. Main St., Andrews. Rev. Jack Scott will officiate.

Burial will be at the Old Lutheran Union Cemetery, Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview Huntington Home Hospice, in care of Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, 233 N. Main St., Andrews, IN 46702.

George A. Bergman

George A. Bergman, 84, 104 E. 4th St., Warren, died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 29, 2002) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren. Masonic services conducted by Mt. Etna Masonic Lodge 333 will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Beall, Rev. John Pattison and Rev. John Bell officiating.

Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Preferred memorials are to the Warren United Methodist Church, 227 N. Main St., Warren, IN 46792.

Jack E. Line

Jack E. Line, 80, Fort Wayne, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday (Sept. 27, 2002) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

A private family visitation was held at 11 a.m. Monday, followed with a private family service at noon, at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel. Rev. Deacon Gordon Samra officiated the service.

military graveside services at the Markle Cemetery were conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689. Burial followed.

Billie J. Law

Billie Joan Law, 55, 3413E-750N, died at 6:15 p.m. Monday (Sept. 30, 2002) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Roanoke Memorial Funeral Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Entombment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes. Association.

Mary C. Gill Hyatt

Mary Catherine “Cotty” Gill Hyatt, 76, a native of Columbia City, died Thursday evening (Sept. 26, 2002) at Odyssey Hospice House in Tucson, Ariz. She had been a resident of Tucson since 1983.

Calling will be held from 9 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line St., Columbia City. Father Dale Bauman will officiate.

Burial will be at the Greenhill Cemetery.

A memorial service was held in Arizona.

The Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 207 N. Main St., Columbia City, is in charge of arrangements.

Dean Deerwester

Dean Deerwester, 79, Highland, Calif., died Friday (Sept. 27, 2002).

Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Montecito Chapel, Loma Linda, Calif. Burial followed at Montecito Memorial Park, Colton, Calif.

I.H. Wiley

I. H. Wiley, a former Huntington County auditor and recorder, died Thursday morning (Oct. 3, 2002) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren. He was 90.

Wiley served as auditor from 1964 to 1972, and he was recorder from 1975 to 1981. He had also served on County Council, and had been employed by the city of Huntington as superintendent of the Parks Department and superintendent of the Street Department.

Arrangements are pending at the Bailey-Love Mortuary.

I. H. Wiley

I. H. Wiley, 90, formerly of 305 Riverside Dr., died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 3, 2002) at the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1555 Flaxmill Rd. Rev. Kevin C. Dunlop will officiate.

Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to the First Church of the Nazarene Missions, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750.

Rex A. Rudolph

Rex A. Rudolph, 47, of Columbus, Ohio, and a former 15-year Huntington resident, died Tuesday (Oct. 1, 2002) at his home.

Calling is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High St., Columbus.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.

Leon J. Simpson

Leon J. Simpson, 55, of Longwood, Fla., and formerly of Roanoke, died Wednesday (Oct. 2, 2002) in his home in Seminole County, Fla.

Calling was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday and for one hour before the 11 a.m. funeral services on Monday at Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, Warren. Dr. Meredith Springer will officiate at the services.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Warren.

Preferred memorials are to the donor’s favorite charity.
