Max W. Wagner, 83, a resident of the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren since May 2001, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday (April 26, 2003) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was a former resident of Hartford City.

Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. funeral service Wednesday at the Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

military graveside rites at the Hartford City Cemetery will be conducted by Moyer-Pooler American Legion Post of Hartford City.

Preferred memorials are to the Hartford City Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 66, Hartford City, IN 47348.

Norma L. Surfus

Norma L. Surfus, 65, 9280S-700W, Warren, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2003) at her residence..

Calling will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m Friday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown and Son Chapel, Warren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren, with Rev. Kent Yost officiating.

Madolyn E. Ray

Madolyn Eloise Ray, 81, formerly of Roanoke, died at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2003) at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Roanoke Memorial Funeral Chapel, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Dianna Teusch officiating. Burial will be at the Clear Creek Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Knightstown Children’s Home, in care of Roanoke Memorial Funeral Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, IN 46783.

Gene R. Hensel

Gene Richard Hensel, 64, died April 14, 2003, at his home in Arvada, Colo.

A memorial service was held April 19 at the Bowling Family Chapel in Arvada, Colo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Sr. Amelia Villanueva

Sr. Amelia Villanueva, O.L.V.M., 78, of Victory Noll in Huntington, died at 5 p.m. Thursday (May 1, 2003) at the Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll.

Calling will be held from 6 p.m. until the 7 p.m. vigil service Friday at the Victory Noll Chapel, 1900 W. Park Dr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Victory Noll Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with calling one hour prior to the Mass. Rev. Thomas Fahey will officiate.

Burial will be at the Victory Noll Cemetery.

McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Winifred I. Harris

Winifred Ione Harris, 93, Upland, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (May 1, 2003) at her home.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the Chester Center Christian Church, Pennville. Rev. Dewey Zent will officiate. Burial will be at the Miller Cemetery, Poneto.

Preferred memorials are to the Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana, 265 W. Water St., Berne, IN 46711.

Doris L. England-Pegan

Doris Loretta England-Pegan, 84, Wabash, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday (April 30, 2003) at her home.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday.

Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.

Preferred memorials are to the Wabash Cancer Society, 5 Maple Court, North Manchester, IN 46962; or the Wabash-Miami County Home Health Hospice, 710 N. East St., Wabash, IN 46992.

James W. Bowers

James Walter Bowers, 76, Huntington, died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday (May 1, 2003) at his home.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Funeral services and interment will be private. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Huntington County Humane Society, Huntington Hospice, or the Evans Scholarship Fund, all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Sidney Lakes, 84, Richmond, died Saturday at Reid Hospital, Richmond.

Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, 222 N. 10th St., Richmond, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Rev. Steve Clark will officiate at the services.

Burial will be at Elkhorn Cemetery, Richmond.

Eric W. Tomlinson, 24, Andrews, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday (May 5, 2003) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the East State Street Church of God, 608 E. State St., with Rev. Steve Stull and Rev. Tim Dilley officiating.

Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.
