Warren G. “Pill” Smith, 93, of Huntington, died at 11:32 a.m. Monday (July 21, 2003) at the Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating.

Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Faith Chapel United Methodist Church or Parkview Huntington Home Health Care and Hospice, in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Maxine E. Howe

Maxine E. Howe, 82, died at 10:07 a.m. Friday (July 18, 2003) at the Norwood Nursing Center.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, with calling one hour prior to the service, at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. Rev. Glen Robbinson will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Norwood Nursing Center Bird Feed Fund, 3720N Norwood Rd., Huntington, IN 46750.

Viola C. Baker

Viola C. Baker, 59, a resident of the Big Lake area of Columbia City, died Tuesday (July 22, 2003) at her daughter’s home in Columbia City.

Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Fredricks and Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to cancer research or a hospice, and may be made in care of the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Ilene A. Mauger

Ilene A. Mauger, 80, Huntington, died at 6 p.m. Thursday (July 24, 2003) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana in Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with calling one hour prior to services. Pastor George Cecil will officiate.

Interment will be at Star of Hope Cemetery at a later date.

Preferred memorials are to the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Shirley Killen Pugh

Shirley Killen Pugh, 90, a former resident of Huntington, died Saturday (July 26, 2003) at the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren.

Calling is from 3-7 p.m. Monday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Pilcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN 46750.

Raymond M. Martin

Raymond M. “Snap” Martin, 77, of Huntington, died at 3:10 a.m. Friday (July 25, 2003) at Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.

Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, and one hour before the 11 a.m. funeral services Tuesday at the College Park United Brethren Church. Pastor Raymond Waldfogel will officiate at the services.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport.

Preferred memorials are to Paws for Cause or to College Park United Brethren Church, both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Doris J. Bartrom Keller

Doris J. Bartrom Keller, 76, of Huntington, died at 10:05 p.m. Friday (July 25, 2003) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Ken Rieman officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Thelma D. Embree

Thelma D. Embree, 84, Warren, died Sunday (July 27, 2003) at Warren United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren.

Calling is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 S. Washington St., Marion.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Dr. Thomas Mansbarger officiating.

Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory in Marion.

Preferred memorials are to the American Diabetes. Association, P.O. Box 2680, Canton, OH 44720.

Dr. Paul N. Stewart

Funeral services for Dr. Paul Norfleet Stewart were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Indianapolis.

Dr. Stewart, 65, Indianapolis, died unexpectedly Thursday (July 24, 2003).

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Bureau of Indianapolis, 615 N. Alabama St., Indianapolis, IN 46204; or to The Hutson School, 5815 E. 38th St., Indianapolis, IN 46218.

Leppert and Hensley Mortuary, Nora Chapel, Indianapolis, was in charge of arrangements.

Jeannetta J. Meier

Jeannetta J. Meier, 80, Claypool, a former resident of Huntington, died at 9 p.m. Monday (July 28, 2003) at the Mason Health Care Center, Warsaw.

Calling will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating.

Burial will be at the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.

Betty J. Hedrick

Betty June Hedrick, 80, a former resident of Huntington, died at 6:43 a.m. Wednesday (July 30, 2003) at the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren.

Calling will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, with Gerald Moreland officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Betty June Hedrick Nursing Scholarship Fund, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.

Joseph A. ‘Andy’ Friedman

Joseph A. “Andy” Friedman, 69, Huntington, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday (July 29, 2003) at the Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry St., with Father Ron Rieder officiating.

Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
