Dovie C. Begley, 86, Hartford City, died at 4:40 a.m. Monday (Aug. 25, 2003) at Millerís Merry Manor in Hartford City.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Wilbur Taylor officiating.

Burial will be at the Brookside Memorial Park, Montpelier.

Sarah Slagel

Sarah Slagel, 80, 739 Hitzfield St., died at 3 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2003) at the Hospice Home of North Eastern Indiana, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Steven Stull officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Home of North Eastern Indiana, in care of Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Don M. Smith, 80, Springfield, Ill., died at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2003) at his home.

Calling is from 11 a.m.-noon Friday at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, Ill. Services will be held at the funeral home at noon Friday, with Scott Brindley officiating.

Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Ill., with military honors by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.

Alice Marie Cross

Alice Marie Cross, 84, LaFontaine, died at 11 p.m Monday (Aug. 25, 2003) at the Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, Wabash.

Calling is from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Treaty Church of Christ, Treaty, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday with Jeff Steppe officiating. Treaty is south of Wabash on Ind.-15.

Burial will be at the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association or for cancer research, in care of McDonald Funeral Home, Inc., Eddingfield Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, IN 46992.

Herman M. Beghtel

Herman M. Beghtel, 83, 11411 Yoder Rd., Roanoke, died at 10:56 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2003) at his daughterís home in Roanoke.

Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Roanoke Memorial Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Floyd Veith officiating. Burial will be at Old Lutheran Union Cemetery, Roanoke.

Lois D. Bauer

Lois D. Bauer, 94, a resident of Oakbrook Village, Huntington, for the past six weeks, died at 6:54 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2003) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, 3220E State Road 124, Bluffton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Ron Dubach officiating.

Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery, Wells County.

Preferred memorials are to the donorís choice of charities.

Mary K. Vining

Mary K. Vining, 88, Etna Green, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2003) at her sonís home in Warsaw.

Calling will be from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the Deaton Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. Pastor Joe Lampton will officiate. Burial will be at the Etna Green Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kosciusko County Hospice.

Jane F. Spotts

Jane F. Spotts, 79, Indianapolis, died in Indianapolis on Thursday (Aug. 28, 2003).

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimerís Association of Central Indiana, 9135 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46240.

The Alpha Funeral Service, 3925 E. New York St., Indianapolis, was in charge of arrangements.

David E. Olsen

David E. Olsen, 71, Punta Gorda, Fla., died Sunday (Aug. 24, 2003) at Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral, Fla.

Calling will be held from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. A funeral service and burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hope Hospice House, 2430 Diplomat Parkway E., Cape Coral, FL 33909.

Charles A. Hadley, 50, Ossian, died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 28, 2003) at the Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Calling is 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the Hope Missionary Church, 429 E. Dustman Rd., Bluffton. Pastor Gary Aupperle and Pastor Matt Hartsell will officiate. Burial will be at the Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Dennis J. Long

Dennis James Long, 49, a resident of Hickory Creek Nursing Home, died Friday (Aug. 29, 2003) at the home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.

Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, is in charge of arrangements.

Velma F. Lewis

Velma Florine Lewis, 79, 2255E-600S, Warren, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 31, 2003) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the First Baptist Church, 714 N. Wayne St., Warren, with Pastor Bill Fisher officiating.

Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in LaFontaine.

Preferred memorials are to the First Baptist Church, 714 N. Wayne St., Warren, IN 46792.

Ralph E. Creviston

Ralph E. Creviston, 76, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 31, 2003) at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne, where he had lived since 1971.

There are no calling hours.

The family held a private service Tuesday afternoon at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel. Gerald O. Moreland officiated.

Interment was at the Sparks Cemetery, Huntington County.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Years Homestead, 8300 Maysville Rd., Fort Wayne IN 46815.

Helen R. Ball

Helen R. Ball, 86, formerly of Huntington and Anderson, died at 7 a.m. Thursday (Aug. 28. 2003) at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, Fla.

Calling will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. David Arnold officiating. Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
