Gerald H. Miller, 90, Huntington, died at 9:52 p.m. Monday (Sept. 1, 2003) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Calling will be held from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Friday at the Evangelical Untied Methodist Church, 1000 Flaxmill Rd. Rev. Marti Lundy will officiate.
Burial will be at Beech Grove Cemetery.

Marjorie Koehlinger
Marjorie “Margo” Ness Koehlinger, 78, Fort Wayne, died Sunday (Aug. 31, 2003) at her home.
Calling is 6-7 p.m. Saturday at the McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Saturday with Father John Pfister officiating.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Ray Allen Clark, 80, Huntington, died at 3:20 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 31, 2003) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Services will be held at the mortuary at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Mel Zumbrun officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Etna Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689.

Orville F. Brodt
Orville F. Brodt, 71, LaFontaine, died at 10:34 p.m. Monday (Sept. 1, 2003) from complications following cancer surgery at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He underwent surgery July 29.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion.
A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rick Smalling officiating.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine.
Fred L. Rinehart
Fred L. Rinehart, 94, a resident of Huntington since 1997, died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 2, 2003) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Calling will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, 208 N. Maple St., South Whitley, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Deacon Joseph R. Zickgraf officiating. Burial will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Rose L. Werstler
Rose L. “Rosie” Werstler, 74, Warsaw, died at 12:20 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 4, 2003) at Cambridge House in Warsaw.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Congregational Christian Church in North Manchester. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.

Steven Bechstein
Steven W. Bechstein, the third-generation owner of what was landmark Huntington grocery store, died at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 2, 2003) at his home in Fort Wayne after a long illness. He was 60.
Bechstein was owner and president of Bechstein Super Valu, a grocery store founded in 1900 by Paul G. Bechstein and Al Lahr at Washington and Byron streets. Bechstein, a native of Leonbronn, Germany, later became the sole proprietor. After his death in 1937, his son, John Nelson Bechstein, became the store’s owner and when he died in 1992, ownership of Bechstein Super Valu went to Steven W. Bechstein.
Bechstein nurtured the store through its 100th year in business in 2000, then closed the store in 2001. He also invented and patented the Nelson Stock Support System of grocery presentation. He was a member of the Independent Grocery Association.
He was born Sept. 28, 1942, in Huntington, to John Nelson and Deloris Klinger Bechstein. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1960 and attended Ball State University, Muncie, and International Business College, Fort Wayne.
Survivors include a daughter, Christina Bechstein, Boston, Mass.; a sister, Kay Stanton, Huntington; a brother, John Nelson Bechstein, Huntington; a stepmother, Maribelle Bechstein, Huntington; a stepsister, Candace Lisinicchia, Huntington; and a stepbrother, Paul Graham, also of Huntington.
Calling is from noon until the 2 p.m. memorial service Sunday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Rev. Roberta Ring will conduct the service.
Burial will be at the St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Garnet L. Anderson, 83, a resident of Oakbrook Village, died at 10:47 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 4, 2003) at the home.
