Norbert F. Karst

Norbert F. Karst, 84, 568 Lamont Rd., died at 10:21 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 14, 2003) at the home of his daughter in Loveland, Ohio.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with recitation of the rosary at 5 p.m., at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, with calling one hour prior to services, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Father Gary Sigler and Father Raymond Balzer will officiate.

Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Father Benedict Groechelle or St. Mary Catholic Church, in care of Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Walter Campbell

Walter “Bud” Campbell, 80, Bluffton, died at 11:17 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 16, 2003) at his home.

Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Rev. Gene Pope officiating. Burial will be in the McFarren Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Northeast Indiana.

D. Gene Biehl

D. Gene Biehl, 79, Urbana, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 16, 2003) at his home.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel, 1401 Ind.-114W, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. Pastor Randall Webb will officiate. Burial will be at the Speicher Cemetery, Urbana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Urbana Fire Department.

Rev. R. William Meier

Rev. R. William Meier, 87, Fort Wayne, died Wednesday (Sept. 17, 2003) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with calling one hour prior to services, at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Rd., Fort Wayne. Pastor Virgil Mills and grandson Pastor Don Meyer will officiate.

Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery.

Everett J. Dunn

Everett J. “Junior” Dunn, 77, Liberty Center, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 18, 2003) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Calling is from noon-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton. Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Diabetes. Association, in care of Thoma/Rich, Hewitt & Chaney Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton, IN 46714.

Frances A. McCune

Frances Arlene McCune, 69, Uniondale, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at her home.

Mrs. McCune was a homemaker.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Russell Buzzard will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Hospice of Northeast Indiana or the American Diabetes. Association, in care of the funeral home.

Mary Elizabeth Henry

Mary Elizabeth Henry, 100, a resident of the Towne House Retirement Center in Fort Wayne, died there at 2:30 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 20, 2003).

Calling is from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Dr. Sam Young officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Central Christian Church, 500 MacGahan St., Huntington.

Martha M. DeVoe

Martha M. DeVoe, 76, Montpelier, died at her home at 7:47 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 23, 2003).

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, 113 E. Huntington St., Montpelier, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Pastor Paul Myers and Rev. Frank Rodgers will officiate. Burial will be at the Asbury Cemetery, Wells County.

Glancy Funeral Home, Walker Chapel, Montpelier, is in charge of arrangements.

Kay Joan Brown

Kay Joan Brown, 65, Decatur, died at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 24, 2003) at her home.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, 520 N. 2nd St., Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the First United Methodist Church, 502 W. Monroe St., Decatur. Rev. Ben Bouwers will officiate.

Burial will be at the Akron (Ohio) Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Broadway Christian Church Uzbekistan Orphanage, in care of Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, 520 N. 2nd St., Decatur, IN 46733.

Marcus W. Ruble

Marcus W. Ruble, 77, died at 6:18 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 28, 2003) at the United Methodist Memorial Home in Warren, where he had been a resident for the past five years. He was formerly of 919 N. Wayne St., Warren.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel, 203 N. Matilda St., Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ, 302 N. Wayne St., Warren.

Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Church of Christ, 302 N. Wayne St., Warren, IN 46792.

John Stech

John L. Stech, 52, Markle, died at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 30, 2003) following an extended illness.

Mr. Stech, a 1969 graduate of Huntington County Community High School, served for 20 years with the Markle Police Department and was the town marshal until April of 2000. He also served for several years with the Markle Volunteer Fire Department.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975, spending much of that time in Panama. He was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and was a volunteer for the church’s annual Vacation Bible School program.

Mr. Stech was born July 7, 1951, in Huntington County, to Kenneth H. and Deloris C. Hart Stech.

Survivors include two sons, Eric Stech, Strawberry, Ark., and Jonathon Stech, Markle; a daughter, Victoria Stech, Markle; a brother, David Stech, Wakarusa.

A friend, Aline Shriner, Markle, also survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Ruth A. Stech; and two infant sisters.

Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Myers Funeral Home, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Markle Church of Christ with Gerald Moreland officiating. There will be one hour of calling at the church prior to the services.

Internment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Trust Fund for the Children of John Stech in care of MarkleBank, P.O. Box 595, Markle, IN 46770, or to the Markle Church of Christ, P.O. Box 609, Markle, IN 46770.
