Opal L. Smith, 85, Markle, died at 12:04 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 25, 2003) at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. Pastor Gerald O. Moreland will officiate.

Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the Markle Church of Christ Mission Fund, P.O. Box 609, Markle, IN 46770.

Don L. Shuttleworth

Don Lee Shuttleworth, 69, Helena, Mont., died Tuesday (Dec. 23, 2003).

Mr. Shuttleworth was a former resident of Warren. He was a master tree surgeon and a craftsman.

Linden’s-Hermann & Co. Funeral Home, Helena, Mont., is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Penn

Gertrude Barnes Penn, 90, Longmont, Colo., died Dec. 10, 2003 at Applewood Living Center in Longmont.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, in the fellowship hall of St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ, Huntington. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate. An informal reception will be held after the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2211N. Oak Park Ave., Chicago IL 60707.

Daniel E. McCoy

Daniel Effort McCoy, 70, Wabash, died at 12:41 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2003) at the Wabash County Hospital.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Charles Easterday officiating.

Burial will be at the Wallace Cemetery, Wabash.

Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, IN 46992.

Nicholas P. Tyner

William D. Tyner

Nicholas Paul Tyner and William Daniel Tyner, infant sons of Aaron Tyner and Wendy Lichtenberger Hoening, Bristol, died at 12:52 a.m. and 12:59 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 21, 2003) shortly after their births at Goshen General Hospital.

Besides the parents, survivors include two sisters, Jasmine Lichtenberger and Emry Hoening, both of Bristol; paternal grandparents, Dan and Lori Tyner, Larwill, and Mrs. Rex (Connie) Jennings, Warren; Stan and Jenny Lichtenberger, Van Wert, Ohio, and Sue Lichtenberger, Fort Wayne.

There is no calling.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, with Pastor Charles Dye Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the family.

Glancy Funeral Home, H. Brown & Son Chapel, Warren, is in charge of arrangements.

Dolores E. Stoffel

Dolores E. Stoffel, 89, a former resident of North Goshen Road, died at 3:55 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 27, 2003) at the Norwood Nursing Center.

Calling will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Ron Rieder officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are in the form of Masses to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to the Gibault School in Terre Haute.

Thomas J. Skeens

Thomas J. Skeens, 65, North Manchester, died at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2003) at his son’s home in North Manchester.

Calling was from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel, 1401 Ind.-114W, North Manchester. Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was at Falls Cemetery, Wabash.

Robert J. Scher

Robert J. Scher, 80, of Huntington and Punta Gorda, Fla., died at 11:30 p.m. Friday (Dec. 26, 2003) in Florida.

Calling will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Ron Rieder officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.

Donald E. Rodenbeck, 78, Poplar Street, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday (Dec. 26, 2003) at Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.

Calling was from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery, Uniondale.
