Larry Lee Denton, 63, Killeen, Texas, died Thursday (March 18, 2004) at his home.

There will be no calling hours. Private family services will be held at a later date.

The Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, Killeen, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

Ora E. Crawford

Ora Eugene Crawford, 95, Hartford City, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (March 20, 2004) at his home.

Calling is 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. today at the Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. William Pieper officiating.

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to the First Christian Church in Hartford City, c/o Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City, IN 47348.

JD Steward

JD Steward, 84, 355 Columbia St., died Monday (March 22, 2004) at his home.

There are no calling hours. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Sutton H. Newsome

Sutton Harrison Newsome, infant son of Steven M. and Stephanie M. Byall Newsome, Fort Gordon, Ga., died at 6 p.m. March 5, 2004, shortly after birth at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Ga.

In addition to his father and mother, Sutton is survived by two brothers, Spenser S. Newsome and Sayre A. Newsome, and a sister, Schylar K. Newsome, all at home; his grandparents, Steven L. and Angeline K. Byall, Roanoke, and Taylor and Sharon K. Newsome, Markle; and great-grandmothers, Betty J. Byall and Mary Alice Goodrich, both of Roanoke.

A memorial Mass in Huntington will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St.

Carl E. ‘Gene’ Herndon

Carl E. “Gene” Herndon, 82, Indianapolis, died Tuesday (March 23, 2004) at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis.

Calling will be held from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St.

Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

J. Edward Roush

J. Edward Roush, 83, Huntington, died at 12:12 p.m. Friday (March 26, 2004) at The Heritage of Huntington.

Calling is from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the College Park United Brethren Church. Rev. Brent A. Birdsall and Dr. Raymond Waldfogel will officiate.

Interment will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to the J. Edward and Polly Roush Scholarship Fund, c/o Huntington College, 2303 College Ave., Huntington, IN 46750.

Rose K. Pommer

Rose K. Pommer, 102, a former resident of Milwaukee, Wis., died at 4:10 p.m. Saturday (March 27, 2004) at the Holy Family Health Care Center at Victory Noll. She had lived at Victory Noll the past seven years.

A vigil service will be held at Victory Noll at 7:30 p.m. Monday, with visitation one hour prior to the service. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Victory Noll Chapel, with Father Thomas Fahey officiating. Interment will be at the Garden Mausoleum of Wisconsin Park Cemetery, Brookfield, Wis.

Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Noll, P.O. Box 109, Huntington IN 46750.

McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Virgil E. Kline

Virgil E. Kline, 80, 4140 S. New Holland Rd., Andrews, died at 2 p.m. Thursday (March 25, 2004) at his home.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Rev. Russell Buzzard and Deaconess Karen Kosberg will officiate.

Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.

Preferred memorials are to the family and will be passed along to the many community groups that provided support to Mr. Kline over the years. Memorials should be sent in care of Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, 338 E. Washington St., Huntington, IN 46750.

Georgia M. Anson

Georgia Mable Anson, 97, 1696N-800W, Andrews, died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday (March 28, 2004) at Oakbrook Village Nursing Home.

Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home, Andrews Chapel. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Andrews United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Whinery officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Andrews United Methodist Church or the Andrews Lions Club baseball field fund.

Georgia M. Burns

Georgia M. Burns, 97, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday (March 29, 2004) at her daughter’s home in Huntington.

Calling is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, with calling one hour prior to services, at the Etna Avenue Wesleyan Avenue Church, 1131 Etna Ave. Rev. Glen Robinson will officiate.

Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington County.

D. Willodene Dillon

D. Willodene Dillon, 85, Brownsville, Texas, died Sunday (March 28, 2004) at the Brownsville Medical Center.

Calling is from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Mt. Etna United Methodist Church, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the church. with Rev. Tom DeFries officiating.

Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas TX 75231-4596 or to the Mr. Etna United Methodist Church, 6073S-594W, Huntington IN 46750.

June E. Riley

June Elizabeth Riley, 96, a former resident of Orchard Ridge in Huntington, died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday (March 30, 2004) at The Heritage of Huntington.

Calling will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary Catholic Church. Father Gary Sigler will preside.

Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday at the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery, Marengo, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are contributions for Masses at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.

The McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James R. Parker

James R. Parker, 82, Fort Wayne, died Wednesday (March 31, 2004) at University Park Nursing Center, Fort Wayne.

Calling is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at D. O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
