Elizabeth J. ‘Betty’ Rowe
Elizabeth Jane “Betty Rowe, 86, a resident of The Heritage of Huntington, died Saturday (May 1, 2004).
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m., at the McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Father Chris Young as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to Huntington Catholic School.
Nadean Landrigan
Nadean Landrigan, 78, Virginia Beach, Va., died Saturday (May 1, 2004).
Calling is from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, Virginia Beach, Va. A Mass of the resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Virginia Beach, Va., with Msgr. Raymond Barton officiating. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. at the Princess Anne Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Va.

Linda S. Hysong
Linda Sue Hysong, 48, 536 Cline St., died at 10:47 a.m. Monday (May 3, 2004) at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday. Bill Warax will officiate. Burial will be at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.

Lucille France
Lucille France, 78, Plymouth, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday (May 1, 2004) at her home.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m., at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. William Kaster officiating. Interment will be at the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Youth Group in Plymouth.
Bennett H. Alliss
August 8, 1940 - April 25, 2002
Bennett H. “Ben” Alliss, 61, a lifetime Plymouth resident, died at 8:24 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2002. Ben died at his home, 8825 9B Road, following an extended illness, under the loving care of his family and friends.
Born in Plymouth on August 8, 1940, Ben was the son of George S. and Vera Louise Miller Alliss. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959.
On June 29, 1974, in LaPorte, Ind., Ben and Janice A. Meloy were married.
A lineman for NIPSCO for 36 years, Ben retired in August 1995.
Mostly Ben loved being around people --especially his family. Always a friendly, outgoing person with a gentle nature and a good sense of humor, he enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Fishing and golf were two pastimes he enjoyed. Showing an unusual, and fun, side of his personality, he had a large collection of Beanie Babies.
He attended the Inwood United Methodist Church .
Ben is survived by his wife, Janice and by two daughters and two sons. His daughters are Kimberly Dawn and Jeff Marvel, Kingston Springs, Tenn. and Shelly Louise and Steve Harrison, Colorado Springs , Colo.
His sons are Bradley Herald Alliss, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ty Brandon and Kelly Alliss, Elkhart, Ind.
Quang and Lisa Tran, looked upon as his “special” son, Bedford, Ind., also survives.
Ten grandchildren together with several nieces and nephews also remain.
A brother, Roger and Carol Alliss, Crete, Ill., survives Ben’s death as do four sisters: Almary Knowles, Grand Tower, Ill.; Shirley and James Lake, Cimmaron, New Mexico; Virginia and Ernest Rowe, Plymouth, and Janet and Robert Lortie, Ligonier, Ind.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dale and George Alliss.
Friends may visit with the family to share their memories at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 , from 4 to 8 p.m.
A 10 a.m. graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 , in New Oakhill Cemetery
with Shirley Snider, officiating.

Margaret E. Ames
November 28, 1907 - April 24, 2002
Margaret Elizabeth Ames, formerly of Bourbon and a long time Plymouth resident at 411 E. Washington St., Plymouth, died in Pilgrim Manor at 2:35 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2002. She was 94-years-old.
Born in Glidden , Wis. , on Nov. 28, 1907 , Margaret was the daughter of Charles H. and Della Mae Whittemore Amones. In 1909 the family moved to Indiana and Margaret was reared on a farm east of Plymouth . She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1925 and attended Nursing School .
On April 17, 1927 , Margaret and Glenn A. Ames were married in Plymouth . After 63 years together, Glenn preceded her in death on January 27, 1990.
A retired real estate salesperson for over 25 years, Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church .
She leaves to morn her passing one daughter, Glenda C. Hubbard of Plymouth, a grandson and his wife, Lane and Jennifer Laffoon of Plymouth; and two granddaughters, Jan E. Lanham and her husband, Daniel of West Virginia and Valerie J. Schafer and her husband, Robert of Plymouth .
Four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandsons, as well as a brother, Harold Amones and his wife Betty of Bixley, Oklahoma and three sisters; Beatrice Anders, Mildred Shively, and Geraldine and her husband, Robert Zimmerman all of Plymouth, also survive.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, two sisters; Venus (Mrs. Carl Chenowith) and Donna Jean (Mrs. Forest Brundige) and five brothers, Gerald, Donald, Dwain, Charles and Eldon Amones.
A celebration of her life and visitation with her family will be on Friday, April 26, 2002 , from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. , Plymouth .
A funeral service for Margaret, officiated by Rev. Dean Fager, pastor of the First United Methodist Church , Plymouth will follow visitation at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery
, Plymouth .

Olive Joan Amones
June 2, 1914 - May 19, 2002
Olive Joan Amones, 87, went to be with the Lord at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2002 , at the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth , where she was graciously cared for the past three years.
She was born on June 2, 1914 , in Walkerton , Indiana ; to Tony C. and Delphia (Bradford) South. Olive lived most of her life in Plymouth and was raised in the Walnut Street home which remains in the family today. She graduated from Plymouth ’s Lincoln High School in the year of 1932.
Olive was married to Gerald ‘Jerry’ Amones on the 31st of December, 1933 , at the First Christian Church in Plymouth , and was a supporting member. She enjoyed working for many years with the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) program for children and had attended the Faith Baptist Church at 13th and Peach Roads.
A local business woman, she owned and managed the Plymouth Credit Bureau for over 20 years, until selling the business and retiring in 1983. She enjoyed times with her family; croqueting and crafts. She had collected thimbles, clowns and bells through the years, having an appreciation for antique toys.
Olive and Jerry raised their family of two daughters and one son at their home on Dixon Lake . Jerry died in February of 1977. Her daughters are; Joan Smith of Liberty , North Carolina and her husband Douglas and Ruth E. Doll of Plymouth , Indiana and her husband Peter J. ‘Jim’ Doll Jr. A son John Amones and his wife Chris, make their home in Sturgis , Michigan .
Olive was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A sister, Marcy Bowen of LaPorte , Indiana also survives.
Proceeding Olive in death were her parents, spouse and three brothers; Claude, Cecil and Jim South.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2002 from 5 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth . Services will be held in the funeral home on Wed., May 22, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. the Dr. Paul Loder of the Faith Baptist Church , Plymouth will officiate. Burial will follow in New Oakhill Cemetery
, Plymouth .

Emma M. Arnold
November 20, 1918 - April 17, 2001
PLYMOUTH - Emma M. Arnold, 83, a former resident of LaPaz and the Shady Rest Home, died of natural causes at 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, 222 Parkview Drive, Plymouth.
Emma was born the daughter of Willard and Edith Mae Penny Evans in Tippecanoe, Ohio, on November 20, 1918. She attended Ohio schools.
On November 16, 1956, in LaPaz, Emma and Levi S. Arnold were married. Levi died on October 12, 1995.
She was a homemaker. Emma left no immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse.
Visitation in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2001.
Emma’s funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, will follow visitation at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
