Lulu I. Kamp
June 7, 1928 - June 11, 2001
A Plymouth resident most of her life, Lulu I. Kamp, 73, 222 Parkview St., Plymouth, Indiana, died of natural causes at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2001, in the Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home.
Lulu, a graduate of Lincoln High School, was born in Plymouth on June 7, 1928. She was the daughter of Oral and Daisy Fear Haynes.
Retired from American Optical, now A.O. Safety, she had also worked as a waitress for Casey Jones.
An avid reader and a consummate Pepsi drinker, she enjoyed being with and often baby-sat for her nieces and nephews.
Lulu is survived by her son, Danny Kurtz and grandson, David Kurtz, both of Tampa, Fla. A brother, Raymond Haynes of Leesburg, Fla., a sister, Edith Maxon, Plymouth, and several nieces and nephews survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roy and Kenneth Haynes and two sisters, Martha Stiles and Dorothy Richardson.
There will be no visitation. Graveside funeral services will be held in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2001. The Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake Methodist Church, will officiate.
Memorial gifts in Lulu’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ernest L. Kreider
January 12, 1907 - August 3, 2001
Ernest L. "Ernie" Kreider, 94, Shamrock Lane, Bremen, Ind., a St. Joseph and Marshall County area resident most of his life, died following a brief illness, on Friday, August 3, 2001, at 6:30 a.m., in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Born in Perrysburg, Ind., on January 12, 1907, he was the son of Charles and Daisy Reed Kreider. He graduated from Twelve Mile High School with the class of 1925.
Ernie was first married to Gertrude Squires who preceded him in death in 1960. On June 22, 1969, he and Ardyce E. Trygg were married in North Liberty, Ind.
A farmer, Ernie also worked, until they closed, at Studebaker in South Bend.
He was an avid gardener and he loved to tinker with things.
A member of the Church of the Brethren in Bremen, Ind., he had taught Sunday School most of his adult life. Most recently, he taught the senior adult class in Bremen.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Ardyce, Bremen, and by five daughters: Charis Lynn Holderman, Plymouth, Linda S. and Jack Dietle, West Monroe, Louisiana, Carolyn Handley, Waco, Texas, Jennie L. and Richard DeJagher, South Bend and Betty and Wayne Weiss, Bremen, Ind.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive together with a niece, Sue and Bill Stokes of Rochester, Ind.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Gertrude, a sister, Mary Smith and a nephew, Richard Smith.
Visitation with his family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2001, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Indiana.
Funeral services for Ernie will be held, following visitation, in the funeral home on Sunday at 4 p.m. The Rev. Tom Hostetler, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, Bremen, Ind., will officiate.
Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery, Twelve Mile, Ind.

Joseph W. "Joe" Kreighbaum
November 19, 1923 - May 12, 2001
Joseph W. “Joe” Kreighbaum, 77, a resident of Shady Rest for 31 years, died of natural causes at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2001. Joe had lived at Walnut Creek Nursing Home, 309 Kingston Ave., for the past two years.
Born in West Twp., Plymouth, the son of Archie Ray and Irene Alfa Ringer Kreighbaum on Nov. 19, 1923, Joe attended West High School.
Never married, he worked for the Marshall County Farm Bureau Co-Op, was a farm laborer and had worked at Markley’s Meat Processing plant.
As a pastime, Joe enjoyed playing checkers and watching baseball games.
Since the early 40s, he was a member of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church and attended Sunrise Chapel.
Joe is survived by a brother, Dale and his wife Melba Kreighbaum of Plymouth. A brother-in-law, Bill Gottschalk, Sun Lakes, Ariz. and sister-in-law, Kathryn Kreighbaum, of Plymouth.
Several nieces and nephews, also survive.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Kreighbaum, a brother, Arthur Kreighbaum, an infant brother and Violet Gottschalk a sister.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, May 14, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Rustin Krapfl, pastor of the Sunrise Chapel, will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery.

Harold R. Krou
November 2, 1940 - November 26, 2001
Harold R. Krou, 61, who resided with his brother Bob at 1218 N. Plum Street, Plymouth for the past 30 years, has died of natural causes in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, on Monday, November 26, 2001 at 3:15 a.m.
A lifetime resident of Plymouth, Harold was born the son of Edward C. and Edna D. Dague Krou on November 2, 1940 in Plymouth. At the age of four, Harold’s father dubbed him with the family nickname, “Pal” which stuck with him to this day. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1959.
Over 34 years ago Harold went to work for the Weidner family at Pilgrim Farms and later Dean’s Foods having experience in most production positions. Harold was a longtime member of the Plymouth First United Church of Christ.
In his youthful day Harold enjoyed family outings to Dixon Lake and Maxinkuckee. To his brother Bob, Pal was a great brother and friend that found pleasure watching T.V. , Sports, working crossword puzzles and taking short trips.
Harold is survived by his brother Robert W. Krou of Plymouth, three sisters; Rosemary M. and Edward Ozio of Lawton, Oklahoma, Esther “Irene” Weimer of Mishawaka, and Martha “Katherine” Hanners of Macon, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roland C. and Donald L. Krou and infant sister Ethel E. Krou.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2001 from 4 – 7 p.m. and one hour prior services in the church. Services will be held in the Plymouth First United Church of Christ, 321 N. Center Street at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2001, pastor, Rev. Dr. David Moffett-Moore will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

Richard C. Kuskye
November 2, 1930 - December 2, 2001
Lifetime Plymouth resident, Richard C. “Rich” Kuskye, 71, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday Dec. 2, 2001 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth. His death was attributed to complications following emergency surgery on November 16.
Rich was born in South Bend, Ind. the son of Lawrence and Mildred A. Richardson Kuskye. Raised in West Township, Rich graduated from West High School with the Class of 1949.
On March 4, 1951 he married Patricia A. Hartman. From 1949 to 1963 Rich was a dedicated employee with the Studebaker Corporation and retired in December of 1989 from AM General, both of South Bend.
If Rich had a hobby it was his family. He enjoyed every fun minute with them and was a great influence on his grandchildren. Rich was a proud member of the Plymouth Kilwinning Masonic Lodge No. 149, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, Orak Shrine of Michigan City and the NRA .
Rich is survived by his wife Pat, two daughters, two sons and their families: Vickie A. Kuskye of Plymouth, Candie L. and Loren Riddle of Lakeville, Ind., Richard C. Kuskye II, and spouse Susan; Kirk E.M. Kuskye, spouse Kimberly all of Plymouth. Grandchildren include, Richard C. Kuskye III, his wife Jennifer and their daughter Zoë. Grandsons; Simon Kuskye and Richard Cibryon Kuskye, along with Kirk Kuskye II and son Jacob; granddaughters, Tiffany and Cassondra. Three sisters and three brothers also survive; Viola “Dodie” and Richard Reese, Evelyn and Bill Wenino, Scarlett Kuskye, Lawrence and Marilyn Kuskye, Elson “Duke” Kuskye, Ralph and Pat Kuskye all of Plymouth. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Everett Kuskye.
Friends may call at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Tuesday Dec. 4 from 3 – 8 p.m. Visitation will conclude with a Masonic Memorial Service at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wed. Dec. 5 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial gifts in Rich’s name may be made to the Salvation Army or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Kathleen Lee "Kathy" Lampkins
Jun 8, 1991 - March 30 2001
God gently gathered Kathy into His arms and took her home to rest, peacefully ending her lifelong courageous battle to live.
Kathleen Lee Lampkins, 14581 Dixon Lake Trail, Plymouth, died on Friday, March 30, 2001, in Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
Kathy, a strong-willed, tough “little angel,” suffered a sudden illness a week ago and died at 4:15 p.m.
She was only nine years old.
Her enduring strength and courage, her love of life and people, touched the lives of all those who knew her. She leaves an emptiness that only love and happy memories of her too short life can fill.
Kathy was born the daughter of Michael J. Lampkins and Kaye R. Manuwal Lampkins, on June 8, 1991, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.
Enrolled in the hearing impaired class at Washington Elementary School, Kathy was in Judy Newberg’s 1st grade class.
Her special education teacher of three years, Pat Lancet, said “ Kathy was a vibrant young lady who loved life. She clearly demonstrated her enthusiasm as well as her love for others in everything that she did.
“All who have known Kathy have been truly blessed by her presence.
“Loving memories of Kathy will always be with us.”
Kathy was especially fond of her speech interpreter Kiscia McCane.
She was like any other little girl. She loved anything to do with “TAZ.” She held a spirited ongoing competition with her 13-year old sister, Michele, challenging her at computer games.
She loved the outdoors and riding motorcycles.
Kathy is survived by her parents and their friends, all of who loved her dearly: her mother, Kaye R. Lampkins and Mike Doll, Plymouth, and her father, Michael J. Lampkins and Brigitte Tholl, Hamlet. Her sister, Michele, also lives at home.
Maternal grandmother, Mary Jane Manual and paternal grandparents John and Beverly Lampkins, all of Plymouth, survive as well, together with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
This brave little girl was preceded in death by John Manuwal, her maternal grandfather and by infant brother, Samuel Wayne Lampkins and infant sister, Ann Marie Lampkins.
Visitation with the family where friends will be welcomed will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, and one hour prior services in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Services celebrating her life will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Krieg, pastor of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Kathy’s memory may be made to the Hearing Impaired Program of the Plymouth School Corporation or Riley Children’s Hospital, Indianapolis.
