Albert R. Terhune
Albert R. Terhune, 94, Lapel, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.
He was born on November 29, 1911, in Jennings County, Indiana to James and Martha (Hand) Terhune.
Albert was a farmer in Rush County for 62 years, when he retired in 1994, he moved to Lapel.
He was a member of the Fletcher United Methodist Church in Carthage for over 80 years and he had been church treasurer and a Sunday school teacher. He also served on the Carthage Public Library board, was a member of the Carthage Lions Club and had chaired the Carthage Fall Festival Committee.
He is survived by four children, James L. (wife, Fran) Terhune of Snellville, GA, Jeannine S. Terhune of Lapel, John A. (wife, Zoe) Terhune of Noblesville, and Joseph R. (wife, Nancy) Terhune of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Elisabeth Jane "Betsy" Terhune Kelberlau of New Port Richey, FL, Susan Frances Terhune of Snellville, GA, Charles Wesley Terhune of Lilburn, GA, Christopher James Terhune of Orange, VA, Kathleen Ann Terhune and Melissa Jo Terhune both of Greenfield; four great-grandchildren, Natalie Alexandra Terhune, Gillian Grace Terhune, Isabella Mary Frances Terhune, and Gabriel Christopher Samuel Terhune; and one niece, Carolyn Ann McCrum of Columbia City.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Frances (Coffman) Terhune in 2000; a grandson, Scott David Terhune; two brothers, Malcom and Leslie; and three sisters, Erma, Helen, and Mary.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Fletcher United Methodist Church in Carthage with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
Memorial contributions be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel or the Fletcher United Methodist Church in Carthage.

Anna B. Russell
Anna B. Russell, 88, longtime resident of the Lapel, Indiana and Sarasota, Florida areas passed away Monday, February 27, 2006, at Westminster Village North Retirement Center in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
She was born on August 1, 1917, in Mount Summit, Indiana to Bill and Roberta (Peed) Beck.
Ann retired from Delco Remy division of General Motors in the early 1970s. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, Indiana.
Ann was much beloved by her many friends and family members.
She is survived by two sons, Vic (wife, Mary Ellen) Russell of Waco, TX, and Jim (wife, Carolyn) Russell of Greenfield, IN; one brother, Gordon Beck of Batesville, IN; ten grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, H. E. (Deacon) Russell; a daughter, Karen Russell Goldy; a brother, Bill (Bud) Beck; and her parents.
Private family graveside rites and burial will be held at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel, Indiana at a later date.
There will be no visiting hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606.
Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel is handling the local arrangements.

Berniece Grimes
Berniece Grimes, 89, Anderson, formerly of Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on September 2, 1916, in Clinton County, Indiana to Charlie and Mabel (Rector) VanMeter.
She retired in 1982 as a cook for Hamilton Southeastern Schools.
She was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bradley Grimes; five children, Carolyn Jean (husband, John) Blazier of Pendleton, Larry (wife, Mary) Grimes of Pendleton, Charlotte (husband, Joe) Ridgeway of Winchester, Jeff (wife, Jodi) Grimes of Anderson, and Teresa (husband, Ed) Harkness of Edmore, MI; one sister, Martha (husband George) Doherty of Noblesville, fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Memorial Cemetery in rural Noblesville.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Beulah Pearl Manis
Beulah Pearl Manis, 95, Lapel, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2005, at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville following an brief illness.
She was born on March 23, 1910, in Eagletown, Indiana and had lived in Lapel most or her life.
She was a 1928 Lapel High School graduate and she was retired from Delco Remy.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for over 60 years and wsa a member of the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457. She was a published poet and had articles to the paper up to age 92.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis (husband, Jerry) Hiatt of Lapel; two grandchildren, Kim (husband, Kurt) Jones of Lapel, and Kent (wife, Dawn) Hiatt of Anderson; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Earl Manis in 1977; a sister, Atalene Stuart; and a grandson, Ronald Gene Hiatt.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

M. Cassell "Whitie" Rich
M. Cassell "Whitie" Rich, 92, Anderson, passed away Monday, November 21, 2005, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on May 28, 1913, in Fishersburg, Indiana to Scott and Mary (Teeters) Rich.
He was a 1931 Lapel High School graduate. He retired in 1972 from Guide Lamp division of General Motors after 38 years of employment. He enjoyed his hobbies of farming and coon hunting and was a founding member of the Madison County Coon Hunters Club.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, and the Lapel Optimist Club.
He is survived by four children, Jeannie (husband, Steve) Watson of Pendleton, Jim "Zeke" (wife, Julie) Rich of Anderson, Terry (wife, Deborah) Rich of Anderson, and daughter, Peggy (husband, Chris) Nunley of Crown Point; two sisters, Lorene Collins of Lapel, and Kathleen (husband, Elmer) Anderson of Scottsdale, AZ; one brother, Alva "Ab" (wife, Velma) Rich of Lapel; sixteen grandchildren, Amy Brown, Julie Ginley, Stefanie Baker, Shelli Kordes, Scott Rich, Ryan Rich, Rhett Rich, Renae Rich, Sarah Miller, Allison Nunley, Hannah Nunley, Meredith Nunley, Eddie Rich, Danny Rich, Debbie Rich, and Nora Rich; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, ClaraBelle (Hawley) Rich; a son, Harold Rich; a granddaughter, Angie Watson; and a sister, Margaret Whetstone.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Chester K. Peacock
Chester Keith Peacock, 79, Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.
He was born on February 4, 1926, in Scott County, Indiana to Delmar and Opal (Keith) Peacock.
Chester grew up in the Greenfield area and attended Maxwell High School. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII as a medic in the European Theater. He retired in 1987 from the former Guide Lamp Division of GM in Anderson after 41 years of employment and was also a farmer. He had been employed at Hersberger Funeral Home for 11 years after his retirement.
He was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church where he was head usher, a trustee, and a former Sunday school teacher. He also was a member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau where he was Wayne Township Chairman.
Chester was a fine example of a Christian man.
He is survived by his wife, Inabeth Peacock; one daughter, Kathy (husband, Mike) Swackhamer of Anderson; two granddaughters, Connie (husband, Doug) Kolb of Sheridan, and Rachel (husband, Chris) Milner of Lapel; one great grandson, Jesse Kolb; one sister, Wilma (husband, Paul) Johnson of Greenfield; one sister-in-law, Lillian Peacock of Anderson; and one brother-in-law, Bob Willits of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cecil Peacock; and three sisters, Norine Willits, Pauline Wallsmith, and Martha Kreienbrink.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Prairie Baptist Church in Noblesvillle with Rev.s Bob Williams, and Larry McFadden officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Christopher O. "Linebacker" Hopkins
Christopher O. "Linebacker" Hopkins, 42, Orestes, passed away Friday, June 24, 2005, at Holzer Medical Center Jackson, Ohio after a sudden illness.
He was born on September 14, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and LaQuieta (Eiler) Hopkins.
He was president of the Chosen Brotherhood Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by four children, Amber (husband, Riley) Hopkins Guthrie of Anderson, Devon Hopkins of Elwood, Jennifer Hopkins of Connecticut, and Shane Mowrey of Lapel; his father, George Hopkins of Irving, TX; his mother, LaQuieta Hopkins of Anderson; his fiance, Christina McWilliams of Orestes; and six grandchildren, Sahara, Jaden, Akilah, Rylie, Robyn, and Lexi.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Arnett officiating. Burial will be at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Dana Marie Jarvis
Dana Marie Jarvis, 27, Anderson, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006.
She was born on November 27, 1978, in Anderson, Indiana to Bill and Debbie (Hobbs) Jarvis.
She attended Lapel Schools.
She is survived by her parents, Bill and Debbie (Hobbs) Jarvis of Lapel; five brothers and sisters, Aaron (wife, Suzanne) Jarvis, Donald (fiance, Tammy) Jarvis, Ronald (wife, Kari) Jarvis, Billy L. Jarvis, Jr., and Barbara (husband, Kevin) Parkhurst all of Anderson; maternal grandparents, Bill and Lavonne Hobbs of Lapel; aunt, Penny (husband, Jim) Hormell of Lapel; and several great-aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends including special friend Mark Votra.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell W. Jarvis; an aunt, Becky Orbik; and great grandparents, Ernest and Pearl Brantlinger and Rando and Laura Hobbs.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
