Robert D. King, Sr
Robert D. King, Sr., 74, formerly of Lapel , passed away Sunday, December 4, 2005, in Plant City, Florida following an extended illness.
He was born January 28, 1931, in Monticello, New York, the son of Edward R. and Hilda King .
He was a retired truck driver for Butler Trucking in Indianapolis.
He is survived by four children, Shar Clements, Kathy Cowan, Carol Harrell and Richard King; two brothers, George King and Leon King; two sisters Agnes VanAken and Amy King; his companion Marjorie Carter; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jessie; a son Robert King Jr.; and two brothers, Eugene and Edward King.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
The family will receive friends at the Lapel American Legion following the service.
Samuel Max Stoops
Samuel Max Stoops, 85, Lapel, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness.
He was born on March 20, 1920, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Asia and Rosa (Deaver) Stoops.
He retired in 1980 from Firestone in Noblesville after 30 years of employment.
He is survived by three children, Marcia Mills of Anderson, Joyce A. (husband, Steve) Chapple of Fortville, and Jonathan M. (wife, Kathy) Stoops, Sr.; one sister, Ruby (husband, Charles) Givens of Anderson; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ava M. (Wooden) Stoops; a son-in-law, Donald Mills; and a special cousin, Eunice Orr.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Don Pittman officiating. Burial will be at the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Sandra A. Neese
Sandra A. Neese, 69, Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after a sudden illness.
She was born on April 8, 1936 in Lapel, Indiana to Oral and Alma (Meeker) Neese.
She was a Lapel High School graduate and received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University and a law degree from Indiana University.
Following law school, she worked in the attorney general's office for the state of Indiana. She served with the first lawyers project in the Peace Corps at the University of Liberia in Monrovia, Liberia. Sandra had served with the Missouri Human Rights Commission before working with the federal Equal Employment Opportunities Commision where she was the Kansas City regional attorney, a member of the Chicago litigation center and then the Milwauke regional attorney. She was actively involved in the civil rights movement.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, the Naomi Circle, and the Indiana Bar Association.
She is survived by her mother, Alma Neese of Lapel; two sisters, Emily (husband, James) Sisson of Lapel, and Beth Neese of Indianapolis; one brother, David (wife, Jeanne) Neese of Philadelphia, PA; six nieces and nephews, Jane Sisson, Julia (husband, Mark) Alness, Donna Lynn (husband, Mark) Eliason, Thomas (wife, Pamela) Sisson, Geoffrey D. Neese, and Natasha Pomparelli; and ten great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel.
Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Roseann P. Shupe
Roseann P. Shupe, 73, Fishersburg, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007, at her residence.
She was born on December 31, 1933, in Hamilton County, Indiana to John and Pauline (Spencer) Purciful.
She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1951.
Roseann began her work career at Allison Transmission division of General Motors. She had owned and operated many businesses through the years including: Boutique Shop and Tea Room, and Rosies Place both in Lapel. Rosie also was secretary for Judge Judy Proffitt in Hamilton County. She also was vice president of Shupe Trenching.
She was a former officer of the women's republican party in Hamilton County. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was one of the founders of the Lapel Business Association
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald W. Shupe; three children, Linda (husband, Blake) Bowman of Midlothian, TX, Don A. (wife, Rosie) Shupe of Noblesville, and Marcia Shupe of Fishersburg; two brothers, Rev. Ed (wife, Julie) Purciful of Anderson and John Purciful of Anderson; one sister, Marcia (husband, Richard) McKinney of Pendleton; five grandchildren, Jonathan Shupe, Annaelise Bowman, Austin Jarrett, Shaneerose Bowman, McKalyn Weeks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Don Purciful.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel with Rev. Ed Purciful officiating.
There will be no visitation.

William R. Snyder
William Robert "Bob" Snyder, 84, Lapel, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006, at his residence following a one year illness.
He was born on November 23, 1921, in Lapel, Indiana to William and Leta (Miller) Snyder.
Bob was a 1939 Lapel High School graduate and he served in the South Pacific in the United States Marine Corps during WWII where he was awarded the bronze star. He retired as a product engineer from Guide Division of General Motors in 1979 after 34 years of employment.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, the Indiana State Historical Society, the Brown County Historical Society and the Lapel Jubilee Chorus.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Fleming) Snyder; two daughters, Susan K. (husband, Thomas) Tudor of Lapel, and Jackie (husband, David) Stephenson of Lapel; his foreign exchange daughter, Isabel Zahn Muller of Weissbaden, Germany; one sister, Norma Upton of Lapel; two brothers, Myron (wife, Helen) Snyder of Lapel, and Paul (wife, Linda) Snyder of Noblesville; six grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Scot) Hawkins, Eliza (husband, Lance) Tudor-Sykes, Adam (wife, Dawn) Tudor, Christopher Tudor, Claudia Schmal, and Oliver Schmal, Anna Hawkins, and Hadley Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Margaret Blake, Becky Cupp, and Kathleen Bell; two brothers, Charles Snyder, and Donald Eugene Snyder; and three grandchildren, Joshua Tudor, Joseph Tudor, and Emily Stephenson.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel.

William C. Stanford
William C. (Bill) Stanford, 72, Lapel, passed away Tuesday December 3, 2002, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness. He was born on May 5, 1930, in Lapel to the late Shirley C. and Martha Kate (Galliher) Stanford. He is survived by two sisters, Betty Jo (husband, Allie) Smith of Emporia, and Virginia (husband, Robert) Milliner of Lapel; one brother, Fred Stanford of Mongo; a sister-in-law, Vicki Stanford of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews. At Bill's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will take place in Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lapel Fire Department, P. O. Box 999, Lapel, Indiana 46051.The arrangements are being handled by the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, Lapel.
Stephen M. Meyers
Stephen M. Meyers, 38, Lapel, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at Riverview Hospital Noblesville after a sudden illness.
He was born on May 31, 1965, in East Chicago, Indiana to Jim and Kay (Herman) Meyers.
He was a driver for O'Leary Transport and was a member of the Ewing, IL Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Reddick) Meyers whom he married May 3, 2003; a step-son Dylan Cantor of Lapel; his father, Jim (wife, Nancy) Meyers of New Castle; his mother, Kay Meyers of Lapel; one brother, Scott (wife, Michelle) Meyers of Lapel; three half-brothers, John Meyers of New Castle, Tim Meyers of Lebanon, and Tom Meyers of Lebanon; a half-sister, Shelley (husband, Jason) Winter of Mooreland; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Herman of Greenwood; two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Adam Meyers.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Ted McDole
Teddy E. Mcdole, 68, Lapel, passed away Monday, December 13, 2004, at his residence in Lapel following and extended illness.
He was born on October 15, 1936, in Lapel, Indiana to Fred and Mary (Purkey) McDole.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and he retired in 2000 from Owens Brockway Glass in Lapel after 49 years of employment.
He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212, the Lapel Eagles Aerie 4323, and was a former member of the Lapel Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by two daughters, Jamie (husband, Stan) Studebaker of Alexandria, and Christie (husband, Brian) Howell of Lapel; a daughter-in-law, Vickie McDole of Lapel; his mother, Mary McDole of Noblesville; four brothers, Fred McDole of Noblesville, Donald McDole of Lapel, Troy McDole of Anderson, and Randal McDole of Lapel; three sisters, Treva Evans of Noblesville, Jane Bland of Lapel, and Kathy Flatford of Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Kevin McDole, David McDole, Matt McDole, Ian Howell, Kayla Studebaker, Aaron Studebaker, Kyle Studebaker, and Sierra Studebaker; and four great grandchildren, Stephani McDole, Christian McDole, Hunter Studebaker, and Ella McDole.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris K. (Cook) McDole in 2003; and two sons, Ronald McDole and Lawrence McDole.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will conduct military graveside rites.

Tom Burgess
Randall Thomas "Tom" Burgess, 70, Lapel, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on March 28, 1934, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to Thomas and Martha (Sandefur) Burgess and he had lived in Indiana for 55 years.
He retired from Delco Remy in 1983 after 30 years of employment.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Stella (Arney) Burgess; two sons, Thomas Burgess of New Palestine, and Billy (wife, Beverly) Burgess of Lapel; five grandchildren, Thomas (wife, Crystal) Burgess of Lapel, Paul (wife, Jocelyn) Burgess of Ellitsville, Brian Burgess serving with the U. S. Marines, Jessica Burgess of Lapel, and Tony Burgess of Lapel; three great grandchildren Morgan Burgess, McKenzie Burgess, and Logan Burgess; and two sisters, Mildred Whitson of Noblesville, and Mary Anthony of Missouri.
He was precededed death by his parents.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
