Clifford A. Smith
Clifford A. Smith, 74, Anderson, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
He was born on June 23, 1932, in Anderson, Indiana to Wyatt and Mabel (Kuhns) Smith.
He was a Anderson High School graduate and he served in the
Korean War in the U. S. Navy.
He retired in 1997 from Delco Remy division of General Motors after 47 years of employment.
He is survived by a daughter, Rhesa (husband, John) Mickler of Carmel; two sons, John (wife, Cindy) Smith of Anderson, and Jeffrey (wife, Char) Smith of Olympia, WA; a brother, John (wife, Frances) Smith of LaPuenta, CA; and five grandchildren, Lindsay Smith, Brittney Smith, Tony Brown, Mackie Smith, and Taylor Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miyuki "Miki"; his parents; and a brother, Wyatt Smith, Jr.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel.
Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Clarence Hall
Clarence Hall, 67, Lapel, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Transitional Care Unit of Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness.
He was born on March 8, 1939, in Hunter, Kentucky to Bert and Nola (Roberts) Hall.
He was a U. S. Army veteran and he retired from Firestone in Noblesville. He was currently employed as a custodian at Noblesville High School.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, the Lapel American Legion Post 212 and the Lapel Eagles Aerie 4323.
He is survived by two children, Michael Hall, and Cathy Hall both of Indianapolis; two step-daughters, Vickie Denham of Anderson, and Carmen Griffin of Lapel; two brothers, Richard (wife, Shirley) Hall of Riverside, CA, and Bobby (wife, Sue) Hall of Winchester, KY; one sister, Wilma (husband, Paul) Casper of West Chester, OH; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Frances Hall in 2004.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Harold Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel where military graveside rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion Post 212.

William H. Lewis
William H. "Bill" Lewis, 73, Anderson, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2004, at Parrish Medical Center Titusville, Florida following a sudden illness.
He was born on September 19, 1930, in Lapel, Indiana to Ray and Lucille (Cast) Lewis.
He retired in 1994 from Delco Remy after 44 years of employment and he was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church. He was a dedicated family man and a animal lover.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ann (McIntire) Lewis; three children, Daniel (wife, Melanie) Lewis of Lapel, Dee (husband, George) Hudson of Chattanooga, TN, and Jack (wife, Lori) Lewis of Anderson; one brother, Jack (wife, Jean) Lewis of Anderson; one sister, Carolyn (husband, Cleo) Roseberry of Anderson; five grandchildren, Bryan Lewis, Casey (husband, Shawn) Wayman, Jaime (husband, Jeff) Sandefur, Jared (fiance, Kim) Hudson, and Jayla Lewis; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will conduct military graveside rites.

William Spearman
William Spearman, 74, Anderson, passed away Wednesday January 28, 2004 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born on October 14, 1929 in Anderson, Indiana to Cecil and Opal (Closser) Spearman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the
Korean War and retired in 1990 from Emge Packing company of 44 years.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett Hersberger Spearman, one son Ted (wife, Karen) Spearman, two Grandchildren, and four sisters, Marilyn Lawson of Alexandria, Patty Chambers of , TX., Judy Parks of Anderson, Susie Swinford of Anderson, and one brother, Cecil Spearman, Jr. of Anderson, .
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at Brookside Cemetery
with Rev. Russell Irwin officiating.
Friends may call Friday January 30, 2004 at 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lapel Masonic Lodge in Lapel.

William F. Hackleman
William F. Hackleman, 67, Lapel, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on October 6, 1937, in Lapel, Indiana to Charles and Vivian (Bolton) Hackleman.
He retired in 1996 from Delphi Division of General Motors after 33 years of employment.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, and the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625.
He is survived by wife, Sheila (Partain) Hackleman; one daughter, Laura (husband, Rick) Hall of Lapel; one sister, Nancy (husband, Richard) Walters of Holiday, FL; two grandaughters, Mandy (husband, Jeremy) Denton of Noblesville, and Ashley Hall of Lapel; and one great grandaughter, Alexis Denton.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.

Vivian H. Williams
Vivian H. Williams, 87, Anderson, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on February 20, 1917, in Anderson, Indiana to Dale and Sharley (Stottlemeyer) Hersberger. She had been a resident of the Isabel Harter House for the past six years and had previously lived in Lapel.
She was a 1935 Lapel High School graduate and had retired in 1977 from Delco Remy after 21 years of employment.
She was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel for over eighty years and she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the U. A. W. Local 662 and in recent years she volunteered her services to the Paramount Theater.
She is survived by three children, Judith (husband, Ken) Mears of Sarasota, FL, Barbara (husband, Jack) Roach of York, PA, and Alan (wife, Kathy) Williams of Anderson; two brothers, Keith Hersberger, and Dale Hersberger both of Anderson; two sisters, Jean Henley of Yorktown, VA., and Harriett Spearman of Anderson; four grandchildren, Lora Mears of Auburn, NY, Jan Schoeber of Syracuse, NY, Tom Roach of Ithaca, NY, and Scott Roach of Charlotte, NC; and five great grandchildren, Benjamin Roach, Adam Roach, Emma Roach, Margaret Roach, and Samuel Roach.
She was preceded in death in 1993 by her husband of 55 years, William Williams; a sister, Virginia Dillie, and a brother, Kenneth Hersberger.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Russell Irwin officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.

Vernon Fisher
Vernon Fisher, 88, Lapel, passed away Monday, February 9, 2004, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born on January 18, 1916, in Hamilton County, IN to Frank and Maude (Lambertson) Fisher.
He retired in 1974 from Guide Lamp after 38 years of employment.
He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church and the U. A. W. Local 663. He was an avid golfer and fisherman and also enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Duncan) Fisher; three children, Linda (husband, Bill) Hormell of Lapel, Robert (wife, Lynn) Fisher of Anderson, and Liz (husband, Steve) Reddick of Anderson; ten grandchildren, Jim (wife, Penny) Hormell, Mike (wife, Linda) Hormell, David (wife, Kathy) Hormell, Shelley (husband, Curtis) Chapman, Rob (wife, Claudia) Fisher, Tracy (husband, Brad) Davis, Christi Williams, Teresa Meyers, Angie (husband, Bob) McClintock, and Amanda (husband, Pat) Kern; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.

Walter H. Upton
Walter H. Upton, 76, Noblesville, passed away Monday, April 19, 2004, at Riverview Hospital Noblesville following a brief illness.
He was born on May 21, 1927, in Hilham, Tenn. the son of Jack and Laura (Malone) Upton.
He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Marines Corps and he retired in 1988 from Martin Marietta Aggregates where he had been a stone loader at the Lapel quarry for many years.
He was a member of the Lapel Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4323 and the American Legion.
He is survived by two children, Gene W. (wife, Evelyn) Upton of Vincennes and Joan Carol Upton of Indianapolis; one sister, Lena Williams Davis of Frankton; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn Jerome (Levi) Upton in 1983; and four brothers.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery
in Lapel.
