Charlene Ann Carter

Charlene Ann Teel Carter, 41, of 14 Lori-Lee Drive, died at 9:35 a.m. Monday in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She had been a patient since April 19.
She was born Dec. 25, 1947, in Lafayette, to Benny and Marjorie Shaffer Teel, of R.2, Brookston, who survive. Her marriage was to James H. Carter, April 21, 1978, in Lafayette. He survives. She graduated from Chalmers High School in 1965. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette.
Surviving with her husband and parents are two sons, Daryl Wayne at home and James Christopher of Rhode Island; one daughter, Kelly J, Rhode Island; four brothers, Ralph Teel, of Schneider, Max Teel, Monticello, Lynn Teel, R.1, Chalmers and Randy Teel, Wolcott.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Faith Baptist Church in Lafayette, with Pastor Tim Turner and Pastor William Goode officiating. Friends may call from 5-9 today at the church and one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston. Burial will be in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Lafayette Faith Baptist Church Building Fund.
Rebecca D. Christensen
April 8, 1945 - July 19,1999
Rebecca D. Christensen, 54, of Peru, died Monday, July 19, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born April 8, 1945, to Leo and Lula Morris LeGate, in Peru. She was married Dec. 27, 1975, to Don R. Christensen, and he survives.
She worked as a cheese broker for Marwood Sales in Kansas City.
She is survived by her husband; three stepsons, Chris and Carl Christensen, both of Peru and Curt Christensen of LaFontaine; a stepdaughter, Theresa Merritt of Peru; a brother, Butch LeGate of Peru; a sister, Martha K. Coady of Peru; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday at Helfrich Cemetery
in Monon, with the Rev Frank Hicks officiating There was no visitation.

Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, was in charge of arrangements.
James A. Clawson
Sept. 26, 1920 - Nov. 30, 1987
James A. Clawson, 67, of 500 E. Second St., Brookston, died Monday, Nov. 30, in Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been a patient there for five days.
He was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Warren County to George and Bessie Jones Clawson. He was married in Brookston on Oct. 1, 1980, to Marie Stover, who survives.
Surviving with his wife is one son, Chris Clawson of Lafayette; three daughters, Jamie Smith of Churubusco, Ramona Both of Hollywood, FL, and Burdina Brunton of Romney; a stepson, Glen Stover of Brookston; three stepdaughters, Janet Rizoff of Waukegan, IL, Mary Wilbanks, and Judy Barlett of Brookston; two brothers, Russell and Linder, both of Columbia City, two sisters, Birdena Stead of Brookston and Elma Russell of Attica; and six grandchildren. He was a member of Brookston United Methodist Church and Green Hill Masonic Lodge. He was a retired maintenance worker for Tippecanoe School Corporation.
A daughter and three sisters are deceased.
The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, the Rev. Gene Ansell officiating.
Burial in Armstrong Cemetery
near Green Hill.
Sarah Wilma Clemans
Sept. 3, 1908 - July 12, 2000
Sarah Wilma Clemans, 91, Monticello, died Wednesday, July 12, in White County Hospital.
She was born Sept. 3, 1908, to Willie Madsen and Sarah Bessie Austin Caudle, in Taneyville, Mo. She had lived in the Buffalo area for 65 years.
She worked at Bryan Manufacturing until she retired.
She was a member of Buffalo Christian Church.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Phyllis Clemans, Monticello and a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond H. and Bonnie Clemans, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Shirley Caudle of Idaho; sister, Lee Measles of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Three brothers and a grandson are deceased.
Funeral services were Saturday at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home with Frank Hicks officiating.
Burial was in Chalmers Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Buffalo Christian Church.
Helen I. Clevinger
June 2, 1925 - March 1, 2000
Helen I. Fahrner Clevinger, 74, of Brookston, died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
She was born on June 2, 1925 in Indianapolis to Frederick and Anna Stengel Fahrner. She married Paul E. Clevinger on August 15, 1942 in Brookston. He died on July 1, 1991.
She worked for General Foods in Lafayette for 10 years and retired in 1981.
She was a member of the Brookston Federated Church.
She was a member of the Brookston American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by daughter, Pamela S. Clevinger of Brookston; son, Greg C. Clevinger of Chalmers; grandsons, Tony and Dustin Clevinger; brother Walter Fahrner of Indianapolis; and sisters, Olga Clevinger of Brookston and Florence Baker of Indianapolis.
Two brothers and one sister are deceased.
Funeral services were Saturday. March 4, 2000, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating.
Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Brookston.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Arlene Marie Clinger
Aug. 14, 1919 - July 14, 1995
Arlene Marie Clinger, 75, Brookston and formerly of Michigan City, died Friday, July 14, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 14, 1919, to Charles and Anna Timm Barkow, in Michigan City. She was married Sept. 3, 1938, to Glen Eldon Clinger, in Valparaiso, and he died Aug. 23, 1966.
She lived most of her life in Michigan City and was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. William (Sharon) Springer, Brookston; Mrs. Casimir (Ruth Ann) Janas, LaPorte; Mrs. De Wayne (Lynette) Tucker, Amarillo, Tx.; Janet Shaffer, Monticello; Mrs. Lynn R. (Julianna) Banes, Lafayette and Mrs. Daniel (Judith) Moran, Michigan City; a son, Darryl Clinger, Brookston; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A grandchild, two brothers and two sisters are deceased.
The funeral was at the Carlisle Funeral Home, Michigan City, Tuesday, with the Rev. Silas Christian officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.
Margaret W. Coffee
May 13, 1918 - May 14, 1998
Margaret W. Coffee, 80, Brookston, died approximately 1 a.m. Thursday, May 14, at her residence.
She had lived in Brookston since January of this year, moving from Highland.
She was born May 13, 1918, to Bernard and Clara Rumschleg Wertzberger. in Decatur. She was married Feb. 19, 1941, to Robert E. Coffee in Decatur and he survives.
Sbe was a homemaker.
She was a member of the League of Women Voters, the Lake Michigan Interleague and the Great Decisions Discussion Group. She was a volunteer with a variety of environmental groups.
Surviving with the husband are three sons, Robert of Columbus, Ohio; Terence of Aberdeen, Md. and Richard of Los Angeles; four daughters, Kathleen Coffee of Pittsburg, Kan.; Sharon Gard of Brookston, Mary Draskovich of Los Angeles and Karen Wagner of Whiting; and six grandchildren.
A sister and four brothers are deceased.
Funeral services were Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston, with the Rev. John Roof officiating.
Cremation and inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to charities.
Dolores Coffey
November 24, 1941 - January 22, 1998
Dolores (Sue) Widmer Coffey. 56, died at 12:56 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
She was born Nov. 24, 1 94 I, to Lloyd and Doris Martin Widmer, in Lafayette.
She was employed at Duncan Meter in Lafayette, for 10 years and retired in 1989 with a disability.
She lived with her daughter. Brenda Coffey, in Lafayette.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Coffey and Kim Coffey, both of Lafayette and Linda Coffey, Monticello; her stepfather, Vernon "Shorty" Deardurff of Brookston; three brothers, Harold "Bud" Widmer, Lafayette; Ronald Widmer, Brookston and Kenneth Widmer, Marble Falls, Texas and four grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 11 am. Wednesday in the IOOF Cemetery, Brookston, with Pastor Scott Moss officiating.
