Louis L. Ice
Louis L. Ice, 76, of Evansville, Indiana, died Saturday, February 16, 2002, at Countryside Manor East in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Louis was a member of Faith Nazarene Church. He retired in 1991 from Electronic Research Company.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Angus and James W. Ice, and one sister, Kathleen Putnam.

Surviving are his brothers, Burton C. Ice of Evansville, IN, Curtis Ice of Lompoc, CA, Ray Ice of Evansville, IN, and Rev. Michael Ice of Salem, IL; his sisters, Burtie Ward of Evansville, IN, and Shirley Marlett of Solvang, CA; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at Alexander North Chapel, the Reverend M.V. Scutt officiating, with burial in Tupman Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2002, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Nazarene Church.
William Phillips Sr.
William Keith "Bill" Phillips Sr., 78, of Madison, Ind., formerly of Evansville, died Friday, February 15, 2002, at King's Daughters Hospital.
He was a self-employed oil producer and a business consultant. He graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the University of Evansville, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and Drake University. He was a very gifted athlete.
Surviving are two sons, Wesley Cabot Phillips of Evansville and William Keith Phillips Jr. of Englewood, Ohio; a daughter, Terrie Dawn Phillips Becher of Evansville; a brother, Lyle A. Phillips of Bentonville, Ark.; his companion, Bettye McClure of Madison, Ind.; and five grandchildren, Mikaelah Noel, Jonah Alexander, Anna Lela Rose, Noah William Keith and Peter Isaiah Robert Becher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Lela (Keith) Phillips; and a sister, Lois Phillips Beatty.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Lytle-Gans Funeral Home in Madison, Ind., is handling arrangements.
JoRetta E. Rust
JoRetta E. Rust, 68, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital. She was formerly employed with Krause Laundry and later retired from Pearl Laundry. She attended Good Shepherd Assembly of God and was a former member of Cornerstone Assembly of God.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray Sr. and Trina Tooley of Evansville; sister Beverly Bufkin Goins of Evansville; grandson Ray Tooley Jr. and his wife Jamie Tooley, and granddaughter Staci and her husband Dale Stanley, all of Evansville; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Kelsi and Emili Stanley; two aunts, Norma Hackendahl and Murrie Hamlet, both of Illinois; and four nieces, Jeanie Clem, Maggie Hatfield, Jackie Pillow and Kimberly Bufkin.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 18, at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel, the Revs. Glyn Pfohl and Thelma Pastore officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 17 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Gilbert Schreiber
Gilbert E. Schreiber, 90, of Evansville, died Saturday, February 16, 2002, at his home. Mr. Schreiber was employed at Mead Johnson before retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Hilltop Grove.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alberta (Wagner) Schreiber; one daughter, Carolyn Bailey of Evansville; four sons, Robert Schreiber of Stillwater, OK, and William, Gerald and Mark Schreiber, all of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday at Pierre Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, continued at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. Eugene Dewig officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Monastery of Poor Clare in Kokomo, IN.
Lloyd Simmons
Lloyd O. Simmons, 60, of Kankakee, Ill., formerly of Evansville, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Loyola University Hospital in Chicago.
Surviving are his father, Oliver W. Simmons; a sister, Delecia D. Simmons; a brother, Frank W. Simmons; and a grandmother, Juanita Wimsatt.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church in Evansville.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.

Juanita West
Juanita K. "Mama Nina" West, 71, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at 7:20 p.m. at her home.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She loved to play Bingo and loved to win. It didn't matter if it was 10 cents or 10 dollars.
She is survived by four daughters, Roxy Modlin of Yankeetown, Ind., Pat "Tish" Stroud of Blairsville, Ind., and Althea Kim Bratton and Stacy Sansing, both of Evansville, Ind.; three sons, Steve West and Terry West, both of Evansville, Ind., and Ted "Trey" West of Mount Vernon, Ind.; two sisters, Betty Cohea of Springfield, Tenn., and Shirley Smith of Martin, Tenn.; one brother, Joe Brown of Springfield, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, Brandi McKinney, Tiffani Adams, Leslie Modlin, April Hargrove, Robert Smith, Beth Ann Ivie, Todd West, Leah Jo West, Velvet Wathen, Shae Sansing, Chase Sansing, Jacob West and Jacey West; 11 stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and Kado and Stinker, her cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul West, who passed away in 1995.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Miller and Miller Colonial Chapel, the Rev. Joe Miller officiating, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery
in Evansville, Ind.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, and on Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, from 10 a.m. to service time at Miller and Miller Colonial Chapel.
L. Ruth Wittman
L. Ruth Wittman, 77, of Evansville, Indiana, died Friday, February 15, 2002, at her home after a long illness. Ruth started the Goosetown Neighborhood Association and was active in the Republican Party for many years.
Surviving are her husband of 13 years, James Wittman of Evansville, IN; a daughter, Mary J. Floyd of Nevada; stepsons Stephen Wittman of Wisconsin and Jeff Wittman of Evansville, IN; stepdaughters Kathy Salat and Karen Wittman, both of Evansville, IN; a grandson, Michael Floyd of Michigan; a granddaughter, Pamela Holliday of Nevada; six stepgrandchild-ren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Austin Cook, Percy Cook and I.W. Cook Jr., all of Kentucky, and Joe Cook of Vincennes, IN; sisters Louise Weldon of Newburgh, IN, and Doris Brantley, Janet St. Clair and Martha Kirk, all of Kentucky; and her caregiver, Doris Yancy of Evansville, IN.
Services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, Kentucky, the Reverend Charles Brantley officiating, with burial in Mapleview Cemetery
in Marion, KY.
Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2002, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Alexander North Chapel in Evansville and on Tuesday, February 19, 2002, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY.
If friends wish to do so, they may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Emma Brandenburg
VINCENNES - Emma B. Brandenburg, 90, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Gentle Care Nursing Home in Vincennes.
She had worked at Walt's Doughnut Shop and Charlie's Smorgasbord.
There are no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. EST Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be no visitation at Goodwin Funeral Home.
Euel Creek
OWENSVILLE - Euel C. Creek, 74, of Owens-ville, formerly of Indianapolis, died at 4:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2002, at his home.
He was born on March 19, 1927, in Gibson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayborn and Tressie (Staley) Creek; two brothers, Clyde and Melborn; and three sisters, Alene Montgomery, Alma Garrett and Thelma Jordan.
He retired from Chrysler in Indianapolis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Annavieve (Wilder) Creek; two sons, Michael of Atlanta, Ga., and Brent of Indianapolis; a brother, Paul of Owensville; two granddaughters, Shannon Rossi and Sharon Creek; and a great-grandson, Samuel Rossi.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery, Rev. Tarrell Thompson officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
