Herman Charles Eble
DALE - Herman Charles Eble, 67, of Dale, Indiana, died at 10:20 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2002, at his home after a year-long battle with lung cancer.
He was born February 6, 1935, in Dale, Indiana, to Herman Eble and Rose (Schum) Eble. He served two years in the United States Army in the Caribbean and Panama Canal Zones. He married Margaret Sergesketter on April 20, 1963, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, Indiana. He continued the family farm in Dale and retired in 1993, after 29 years at Alcoa Warrick Operations, where he was a member of the Aluminum, Brick and Glass Workers Union 104. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, Indiana, the Holy Name Society and St. Vincent de Paul.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Margaret (Sergesketter) Eble of Dale, IN; a son, Donald Eble of Newburgh, IN; daughters, Carolyn Otolski of Evansville, IN, and Nancy Bateman of Annapolis, MD; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 19, 2002, at 9:00 a.m. CST at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Fr. Jim Sauer will officiate.
Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2002, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST at Fuller Funeral Home and Crematory Dale Chapel, with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. CST.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, Indiana, or St. Joseph's Home Health and Hospice.
Anna Hopkins
LOOGOOTEE - Anna L. (Green) Hopkins, 84, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Martin County Health Care & Rehab Center.
She had worked at St. Anthony Hospital and Miller Parrot Baking Company, both in Terre Haute, Ind. Surviving are her husband, Joseph P.; a daughter, Ann E. Hedrick; two sons, John J. and Richard P. Hopkins; two sisters, Mary Jordan and Susan Green; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Chapel at Barr Township in Daviess County, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brocksmith Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Chapel Endowment at Barr Township.
Jacqueline Ingle
HUNTINGBURG - Jacqueline (Slusher) Ingle, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the Waters of Huntingburg of pancreatic cancer.
Surviving are her husband, Charles; a daughter, Diann Martin; a son, Terry Font; a sister, Collen Sullivan; three stepsons, Barry, Richard and Steven Ingle; a stepdaughter, Marianna Richardson; nine grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at Nass & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Irene Jackson
JASPER - Irene S. (Sanders) Jackson, 84, of Jasper, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the Heritage House Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Jasper.
She retired from General Electric in Owensboro, Ky., in 1973.
Surviving are two daughters, Imelda Williams and Margie Leonard; two sons, Harold and Garold Bolden; three stepchildren, Randall Jackson, Bonnie Houpt and Brenda Waddle; eight grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Monday at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial in Birdseye Cemetery
in Birdseye.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jack Stephens
BRUCEVILLE - Jack L. Stephens, 67, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at his home of natural causes.
He had been a truck driver, operated a service station and owned and operated Stephen's Lawn Mower Repair.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Tester); four sons, Jeff, Doug, John and Chris Stephens; a sister, Diana Hill; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. EST Tuesday in Bruceville Cemetery.
There will be no visitation at McClure Funeral Home Bruceville Chapel.
Robert Weathers
PETERSBURG - Robert L. Weathers, 79, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
He retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia (Hall); a daughter, Cheryl Morrison; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. EST Monday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery
in Washington, Ind.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Harry Brading Jr.
Harry M. Brading Jr., 74, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of Evansville, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at his home following a brief illness.
He was a mechanical engineer for Quaker Oats from 1973 until his retirement in 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane H. Brown; a son, Harry M. Brading; and two grandchildren.
Services will be private. Turner Funeral Home East Chapel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Lee Etta Cook
Mrs. Lee Etta Cook, age 61, of Evansville, IN, expired at 2 a.m. Thursday at her home. She was a native of Hartford, Ky., and a member of the Mount Olive Galilee Baptist Church in Evansville, IN.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, sewing and always helping others in the community.
Survivors are three daughters, Danita Chamber and Denise Cook, both of Evansville, IN, and Rita Johnson of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, William Johnson and Clarence Chinn Jr., both of Evansville, IN; nine grandchildren, Dalonzo Young, Arterus Young, Deandra Gold, Derenzo Bushrod, Starla Roach, Leondre Cook, Raddell Waddy, DeCarlos Pearson and Avonte Waddy; seven great-grandchildren, Tiara Young, Damar Young, Raven Young, Arterus Young Jr., Javen Young, Derena Merriweather and Peanut; and a host of nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Adrian Brooks officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until the funeral hour at the Memorial Baptist Church in Evansville, IN.

Daniel Maurer
Daniel C. Maurer, 68, of Evansville, died Friday, February 15, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital. Mr. Maurer was born October 24, 1933. He was a fireman for the City of Evansville for 19 years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of Fireman Union Local 357, the Policeman and Fireman Retirement Group and the Knights of St. John. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mr. Maurer was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1955 through 1957.
He is survived by one daughter, Dawn R. Horton-Krack; one son, Bruce D. Maurer; two stepdaughters, Cindy Altstadt and Nancy Norman; two stepsons, Rick and Tim Norman, all of Evansville; one sister, Rosalie (Frizzell) Knight of Avon Park, Florida; grandchildren, Kristen and Lindsey Maurer and Cole and Craig Horton; and stepgrandchildren, Jami and Chip Altstadt and Richard, Randall and Alex Norman.
Funeral services will begin at 11:45 a.m. on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, continued at noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rev. David Nunning officiating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, where there will be a memorial service at 7 p.m.
