Lewis Vernon Fritz

Lewis Vernon Fritz, 78 of Francesvilie died Sunday, December 11, 2000 at Our Lady of Holy Cross Care Center, San Pierre, Indiana.
He was born April 6, 1922 in Winamac, the son of Leslie and Hazel Earhart Fritz.
He married Doris Arlene Kruger on February 20, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She survives.
A retired truck driver for National Homes in Lafayette, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He had lived in Francesville all his lifetime. He was a member of the Tri-County Bible Church in Rensselaer; American Legion Post 228, Francesville and a retired member of Teamsters Local 135.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters; Phyllis (Harlen) Tomlinson, Monon and Karen Fritz, Francesville; two sons, Alan (Kay) Fritz, Winanac and Stephen (Yvette) Fritz, Winamac.
Two brothers; Robert (Carolyn) Fritz, Francesville and Clifford (Phyllis) Fritz, both of Winamac and one sister Thelma (Toby) Wantota, Wheatfield.
He had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
One brother Harold Fritz preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 20. 2000 at Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home in Francesville with Pastor James Gabhart and Pastor Dennis Snyder officiating.
Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.
Leonard R. Fross
August 15, 1899 - March 28, 1988
Leonard R. Fross, 88, Monticello, died on Monday at 7:23 p.m. in the White County Hospital. He had been hospitalized two days.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1899, in Liberty Township, to the Rev. Jacob M. and Ida M. Royer Fross. He was married on Aug. 19, 1918, to Inez A. Thompson, who sur vives.
He had lived all his life in Liberty Township, with more than 80 years in the same home. He was a school bus driver for 16 years for the Liberty Township Schools and farmed. He also had been a self employed truck driver for 60 years, hauling farm products.
He and his wife were honored as the oldest couple in Liberty Town ship at the Buffalo Centennial in 1986. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary jn August. He was knowledgeable of county history, which he shared with many people.
He was a member of Pike Creek Church of the Brethren.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Jean York, Monticello; Mary Jo Baker, Indianapolis; and June SmIth of Auburndale, FL; a son, Leonard Lyle of Indianapolis; a grandson raised in his home, Larry W. York of Monticello; seven other grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A son, two brothers, a sister and a great-grandchild are deceased. The funeral is today at 1:30 p.m. at Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home, Monticello, with Rev. Glen Camp bell officiating. Burial at Hughes Cemetery
in White County.

Leonard Lyle Fross

Leonard Lyle Fross, 69 of Indianapolis died January 14, 1999 in Indianapolis.
He was the son of Leonard and Inez Fross of the Zion Bethel area. He was a 1947 graduate of Buffalo High School
He served 20 years in the Air Force retiring in 1972 as a lieutenant colonel. He was a materials handler for 18 years for C.H. Ellis Co. retiring in 1988. He was a member of Broad Ripple Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.
He is survived by his wife Alice (France) Fross, two sozis, Jeffrey and Jack Fross and two sisters Mary Jo Baker and June Smith. One sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 19 at the Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Funeral Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Fishers.
Clara M. Fry
September 5, 1902 - November 20, 1988
Clara M. Sanbloom Fry, 88, formerly of R.2, Brookston, died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20 at St Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She had been a patient there since Wednesday.
She was born Sept. 5, 1902 to Gus Sanbloom and Mabel Colson, in Tippecanoe County. She was married March 9, 1927 to Lewis M. Fry, in Brookston. He is deceased.
She was a member of the Badger Grove Community Baptist Church, the missionary society and Merry Workers. She was a former member of Round Grove Homemakers.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Fry, Brookston and Herbert Fry, Elwood; two brothers, John Sanbloom and Ernest Sanbloom both of Brookston; one sister, Mrs. Hulda Nelson, Brookston; five grand- children; and eight great grand children also survive.
Besides the husband, one sister, one granddaughter and a grandson are deceased.
The funeral was today at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with the Rev Eugene Parker and the Rev Bill Radcliffe officiating.
Burial was in the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Brookston.
Herbert Fry
March 12, 1931 - November 21, 1999
Word has been received of the death of Herbert Fry, 68, of Tipton, a former Brookston resident who died Sunday, Nov. 21, at Muncie Health 7 Rehabilitation Center, Muncie.
He was born March 12, 1931, to Lewis M. and Clara Sanbloom Fry, in Brookston. He was married August 16, 1952, to Dorothy E. Stoker, and she died Nov. 14, 1992. He then was married Feb. 1994, to Janet Statton and she survives.
He was employed in telephone construction.
He was a member of Hobbs United Methodist Church
He was also a member of Tipton B.P.O. Elks.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Herbert Alan Fry of Los Alamos, N.M., Gary William Fry of Brookville, Pa, Richard Lee Fry of Boise, Idaho, Scott T. Fry of Albany and Mickey Lewis Fry of Leakey, Texas; a brother, Harold L. Fry of Brookston; and 10 grandchildren, Herbie, Caleb, Ashlee, Austin, Asa, Laura, Sam Sara Aaron and Dixie Fry.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Young- Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. Oscar Clark officiating
The Tipton Elks Lodge conducted a memorial service at the funeral home.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Hobbs United Methodist Church.
Harold L. Fry
June 11, 1928 - May 10, 2000
Harold L. Fry, 71, Brookston, died Wednesday evening, May 10, 2000, at his residence. He was born June 11, 1928, to Lewis M. and Clara Marie Sanbloom Fry, in Lafayette.
He graduated from Brookston High School in 1946.
He retired from farming and moved to Brookston in 1991.
He was a former member of Pine Grove Methodist Church.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Janet Fry of Tipton; and five nephews, Herbert A. Fry of Los Alarnos, N.M, Gary Fry of Brookville, Pa., Rick Fry of Boise, Idaho, Scott Fry of Muncie and Mickey Fry of Lakey, Texas.
An infant daughter, Linda Lee (1951); a son, Harold L. Fry Jr. (1967); and a brother, Herbert Fry (1999) are deceased.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hartzler Funeral Home, Brookston.
Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brookston.
Janet M. Paul Fry
March 1, 1921 - February 7, 2001
Janet Marie (Statton) Paul Fry, 69, of Tipton, died at her home early Wednesday, February 7, 2001.
She was born March 1, 1921 in Chalmers, the daughter of George and Etta Burns Statton. She was married February 5, 1993, to Herbert Fry. He died in November 1999.
She had moved to Tipton from Lafayette and Monticello in 1993.
She was a 1949 graduate of Chalmers High School and attended Butler University in Indianapolis.
She was a homemaker and was the former secretary for State Farm Insurance in Lafayette.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello.
She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta and Kappa Kappa Kappa and the Order of Eastern Star Crystal Chapter of Monticello.
She had received the Sagamore of the Wabash.
She is survived by three sons, Steve (Julie) Paul of Fredricksburg, VA, Dennis (Kathy) Paul of Burnettsville and John (Tami) Paul of Monticello; five step-sons; two sisters Jean (Moury) Schumacher, Punta Gorda, FL and Jo (Chuck) Klinger of Venice, FL; seven grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.
Private family services were Monday at Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with burial in Chalmers Community Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
